The Gin And Thresher Reviews

Joyce
Fantastic big house for a group holiday, lovely to be all en suite, and the round table was very sociable. The pool was a great extra which we used every day, even in the bad weather.
Ralph
Family friendly first class venue. This location has to be seen and experienced to appreciate its value and the enormous potential still to be realized. I would certainly book this venue again.
Stuart
A stunning conversion of a grade2* listed unique agro-industrial site - pure genius. Styling of the rooms after conversion is inspired, creating elegance mixed with fun/ modern - comfortable throughout. I defy anyone entering this building to avoid saying "WOW". Great well-appointed kitchen, dining 'table' to die for and fabulous bar. The NorthumbeRead morerland scenery and towns are amazing but we thought the accomodation really made the hoiday - for a party ranging in age from 9 to 90. Hide

Our family were a group of 13 adults and 4 under 10's and were the first clients of the venue. The place is in the countryside very dark at night, very quiet but only 15 mins from Hexham. Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 15 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 19 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 25 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
