Blackcap Reviews

Beverley
Great cottage, loved the location. Great spot for a weekend of walking and relaxing.
An amazing stay in a beautiful place. The lodge was excellent and had everything we could have needed. It was immaculately clean and very well resourced. Located in a perfect area to explore North Yorkshire. Rob was very welcoming and had the hot tub ready for our arrival. We 100 recommend this lodge for a lovely stay. We will be recommending and back ourselves! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Me and my girlfriend have recently returned from Blackcap following a stay for our 1 year anniversary and we both found it absolutely faultless, one minor gripe that we both havehad is that oven gloves and tea towels could be provided for the kitchenette, this aside we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the pheasants, guinea fowl and other local wildlife poking about near the premises gave a lovely rural touch to a modern countryside retreat both already looking to book again for next year
Robert
The owners were great there if required and never intrusive. All was very clean hot was excellent plenty of supplies to keep you going only problem was the weather. Only fault was the shower in the bathroom as this could not be used as this flooded the lodge as we found out first time used and only time used this needs sorting urgently. This is the only problem and did not spoil our stay which was great and would stay again.
This property is an absolute gem. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from start to finish. The owners were very informative and provided everything we needed during our stay. We really appreciated the extra effort of getting the hot tub ready and heated prior to our arrival. The lodge was fantastic! Beautifully presented, clean and honestly a perfect place for a short getaway. 5 Would definitely recommend. We will definitely be back.
Oliver
Property was fantastic we had an amazing time and the owners were super helpful. The property has been done to an extremely high standard and had everything we needed. The setting was incredible. Bed and furniture were extremely comfortable. One thing to note and one ask the hot tub was heated by a woodfired stove takes 13 hours to heat up which was fun but my wife said she wouldnt want to do that on her own the owners do offer their support. The towels were lovely, but the big towels 1 each were too small for a 5 property with a hot tub. Would be great to either get some bigger ones, or have 2 each, in the future. A final tip Im sure this is obvious but bring a bathrobe for the hot tub we didnt expect them to be provided, but one we took with us was really handy for hot tub.
Michael
Perfect home away from home, the Lodge had everything we needed. Amazing location, we went on some lovely walks. Very private, surrounded by nature. Thank you very much to the hosts, we loved it!

Beautiful weekend Great communication with the owner checking if we would be needing the hot tub on the night of arrival Beautiful lodge absolutely spotless everything you could need great location will definitely be returning and definitely recommend Thanks Dave & El
What a lovely little gem this place is ! Firstly we was greeted by Becca who explained all you needed to know about the lodge and was very welcoming and then left us to it for the remaining stay. It had everything you needed in the lodge and very clean and also the bed was very comfortable. The surrounding area is beautiful and very peaceful with lots of wildlife to watch through your windows. You are very central to visit York or the coast so lots to do and also theres a local garage that sells more or less everything if you need anything. I would highly recommend and will be returning in the near future
Andrew
Lovely clean and modern property, in an excellent location for both York city centre and the coast. Owners where very helpful, not intrusive, but there if needed . Would definitely stay again.
Rebecca

Jennifer

Aerron
Beautiful space with view over the garden. great for bird watchers in the garden and out in the wolds. The hot tub was easy to get the fire going and much needed after long walks. Lots to explore straight from the front door, This is our second study at the Black Cap, we will be back.
Stuart
Amazing stay, the pictures don't show 3 cabins together but still very private, we had an amazing weekend. Everything thought off down to coffee for the machine and a bottle of milk we will be staying again
Michael
I would recommend Blackcap as a holiday destination. Modern comfortable and well situated. A choice of lovely walks can be accessed from the accommodation without jumping in the car. York can easily be accessed by the park and ride. Would like to return someday. Mick & Joy
A wonderful, extremely clean, comfortable stay in a modern but with traditional accents lodge. If staying in this area then you couldn't do better.
Sophie
I and my partner stayed here the weekend before valentines to celebrate valentines and my birthday. We were more than happy with our choice of stay. We travelled up after work when there was a warning out for bad driving conditions including fog. We got lost, and it was no problem that we rang the farmer at 1900pm he was happy to direct via phone. Very friendly couple who live here and no question was inconvenient. We had an amazing time here and the lodge! No words. Absolutely stunning. Look out for the adorable working dog there.. and be sure to get some cuddles. We will definitely be back.
Absolutely gorgeous stay! Property was beautifully kept and very clean! Situated in a gorgeous location with amazing views and wildlife all around. The property owners were fantastic, so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. They were above and beyond! Definitely be back highly recommend.
Savannah
We had a lovely time here for my partners birthday. This place had everything we needed and was absolutely perfect, all kitchen bits were supplied so we could cook and the owners were kind enough to leave us a bottle of Prosecco, milk 100 needed for a tea and a hamper basket. Thank you for a lovely stay.
