From its elevated position, just outside Bowness, Cleabarrow Cottage is an imposing, detached residence with far reaching views across the meadows and woods to the skyline of the south Lakeland fells. This contemporary and luxurious retreat gives guests sumptuous and private surroundings.
Spread over three floors, this stylish home has plenty of space for a large gathering. The heart of the home is the spacious open plan sitting, dining and kitchen area with floor to ceiling picture windows and bi-fold doors that open to the patio, allow the light to flood in.
Here you can bring the outside-in and enjoy the tranquil countryside, which is a haven for wildlife, including a herd of Roe deer that can be often seen grazing nearby. The beautifully presented space includes two sitting areas, so you can spread out and do different things - perhaps enjoy the views and chat, and the other to relax in front of the TV.
The large dining table is a wonderful sociable space. The contemporary, hi-spec kitchen is thoroughly well equipped and a joy to use.
Across the hallway is the formal sitting room with comfortable sofas, armchairs, large screen TV and patio doors to the garden. To the side is a cosy snug and reading area which is a little haven in which to relax with a good book or the weekend papers.
Head outside and enjoy the terraced, lawned garden, and wrap around large patio terrace, with outdoor furniture and a bubbling hot tub from which to enjoy the tranquil views. Cleabarrow Cottage offers a choice of six bedrooms, each beautifully presented and all with en-suite facilities, TVs and bathrobes.
All the bedrooms can be presented as with either a super king-size bed or twin beds (please specify your choice when booking). The first of the six bedrooms is on the ground floor and complemented by a superb en-suite shower room with walk in shower.
This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
