Briars Lea is a stunning holiday home situated in the lakeside town of Bowness-on-Windermere in Cumbria. Just minutes away from Lake Windermere and countless amenities, this property sleeps eight and welcomes families, groups of friends and a couple of pets wishing to discover the beauties of the Lake District.
Step into this reverse-level property to find a tastefully-decorated open-plan living space. Cook up your favourite meals in the fully-equipped kitchen to enjoy around the dining table or on the furnished balcony overlooking the garden and pond, and the lake peeking behind the trees.
When the weather gets cooler, come back inside and cuddle up on the plush sofas by the electric fireplace as you watch your favourite show or movies on the TV. Downstairs, you'll find a media room with another Smart TV and soft couch for when you can't all decide what to watch, and a little seating area with a library for you to choose from.
Make use of the large rear garden when the sun is shining, being cautious of the non-enclosed pond, and why not spend an evening soaking in the hot tub as you stargaze? When sleep calls, wind down with a steaming shower and slip into the freshly-washed linens of the beds.
You'll never run out of things to do in the lively town of Bowness; head to Boardwalk Bar and Grill for some lakefront steak dining, ChoccoBar Hot Chocolate House for some decadent chocolate-themed foods or Bryson's café for a lighter lunch. Take a swim in Lake Windermere when the sun is scorching or if you'd like to stay dry, take a scenic cruise along the lake at Windermere Lake Cruises.
Drive down to the charming village of Lakeside and say hello to the marine animals at Lakes Aquarium, make your way to Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway for a scenic and dog-friendly trip on their 20th-century vintage steam trains, and for a taste of history go to Lakeside Motor Museum to check out their exhibitions and collection of antique automobiles. Next, head to the town of Kendal, known for its bustling shopping district where you'll find all short of locally-made goods, visit the ruins of 1200s Kendal Castle, view the fine art displayed in the stunning Georgian manor Abbot Hall, and the end day with a family dinner at The Joshua Tree bistro.
