Hill Top Lodge Reviews

Lauren
Many thanks for a wonderful break away in your beautifully clean and well equipped lodge. We have stayed in many places and I must say its rare to arrive and see exactly what you see on the advertised photos. It was a real home from home, everything we needed and more. Lovely and warm, comfortable seating and beds! The lodge is perfectly placed to enjoy the local area whether you stay close or go further afield. We thoroughly enjoyed Windermere , so much to see and do. Amazing shops and beautiful coffee shops with lovely food and friendly people. Recommend taking a boat trip. Ambleside and Grassmere are wonderful to visit and so much on offer. The scenery is a delight and theres walks aplenty! The apple pie bakery must be a stop off in Ambleside you wont be disappointed despite the long queue to wait for a table. Make the most of the hot tub especially looking up to the unspoilt sky after a day of walking. The on site facilities are tired and in need of a refurb especially the barrestaurant which wasnt somewhere we would return however that said you have so many lovely places on the doorstep to eat out in, its not a deal breaker! We will certainly recommend this gem to our friends and family.

Very nice property clean and the hot tub was great. Had a great 4 days . We will be back
Fantastic lodge, beautifully updated with extra little touches making our time there even more special. Thankyou to the owners,we had an amazing week exploring the local areas, this is a perfect base and we have booked to return next Easter time. We are looking forward to it already.
What a fantastic, well equip, immaculate lodge! Absolutely spotless! This lodge was lacking nothing. So comfortable and homely. We loved it so much we have booked two weeks next year and cant wait for our second week this summer. Thank you so much for an amazing stay x
The Property is well maintained, and had everything you need provided in the property, including an outside brush to sweep any debris away from the decking. When we arrived the onsuite bathroom floor was very wet due to the main shower not turned off properly and the shower doors open, but was easily sorted. The location was very central and just caught buses around the surrounding area as the stops were just outside the entrance.
Excellent comfortable accommodation, beautiful setting and a great park with friendly, helpful staff. Loved the hot tub.
This is our second year at Hill Top Lodge, it is situated in an ideal spot on the park, a couple of minutes walk to The Lake where you can feed the ducks. The lodge is clean and well equipped with everything you may need. The hot tub is amazing and has been updated this year, it is maintained daily. We will be returning again soon. Thank you so much to the owners of this wonderful lodge in a gorgeous setting.
The lodge was lovely ,everything you could think you need was there , the hot tub was secluded which was brilliant for us . We loved everything about it . Excellent location outside park there's a bus stop that will take you anywhere you want to go we used this all the time so we didn't need the car tickets good price .
Absolutely beautiful lodge. Very spacious, great location. The hot tub was amazing. The holiday park is great, lots of amenities such as barrestaurant, swimming pool, play area for children & onsite shop. Would highly recommend

Our holiday with family didn't work out so we booked this last minute. It was an absolutely fabulous stay. The lodge is clean, comfortable, furnished beautifully and has many additional homely features. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. We used the onsight facilities, the health club in troutbridge which were all great. We walked, took the boat across the lake, visited Beatrix Potter and the Aquarium. All in all we has a fabulous time. My 7 year old daughter is already begging us to rebook. Thank you so much.
We had a great week in the lodge. It was really clean, cosy, spacious, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The beds were very comfortable, the hot tub was a bonus and serviced twice a day by a company on site. We used the on site swimming pool and clubhouse a few times, and got out and about exploring the local area. All in all, it was exactly what we needed after a very busy few weeks in work. Thank you.

We arrived and was wowed by the little but big homely touches, the Christmas tree and the warmness of the lodge was lovely and the hot tub was great, we stayed all over white cross bay and up and down the lake and this is in top 10, thanks for having us and see you again soon
The lodge is spacious and very comfortable. The efficient central heating made our week there in November really cosy. We also enjoyed our frequent escapes into the large hot tub. The lodge is ideally placed on a quiet side road yet only a short stroll from the the lakeside.
We loved our stay here! It had everything we needed, great location and the hot tub was a lovely addition! Our only slight niggle was that the TV cant connect to the internet so we couldnt watch Netflix etc in the evenings which was a shame, in the end we bought a HDMI cable so we could connect our laptop to the screen instead. But other than this, the lodge was clean and extremely comfortable, wed definitely come back!

Lovely property with the added bonus of the hotub with a great location when you have children to entertain.
Stephen
Great lodge and super location just a stones throw to the lake. The park always looks great, just wish theyd have more entertainment space and also early breakfasts.
Serhiy
We enjoyed our stay very much. Great place and lots of space for a family. Location is great property is away from the main road and the lake front is less than 100yards away good for water sports. Jacuzzi is a great addition to the property and helps a lot during the rainy days or after the long day walk. Lots of small personal touches throughout the property makes it look like home. Two bathrooms is also advantage. The down side is the the basin a shower waste are not working well and takes time to drain while you using it. And probably as result causing smell of dumbness and mouldiness in the ensuite bathroom that spreads to the bedroom. If this issues are resolved this property otherwise makes a great holiday retreat with great location for the Windermere and The Lakes.
Caroline
Lodge was well equipped but maybe too well equipped as left little space to store food! Listing didnt mention a washing machine which id liked to have known about before we went. Only found airer on last day
Would have scored this lodge as 4 on every aspect, however hottub is getting a little tired and requires new contols etc. other wise an excellently maintained and equiped place to stay.
We had a great weekend at this lodge. Brilliant location, lovely site and the lodge itself was lovely with everything we needed. Will hopefully be back!
Alanna
Great lodge! Clean and very well equipped with a good selection of glassware not always the case. Outside area is lovely and private and gets the sun pretty much all day between the front and side deck. The new owners have made some updates to the decor already which was a nice surprise. Only comment would be the table and chairs next to the hot tub could do with a freshen up for eating outside, but we just used the seating out front instead. We loved it and would definitely return in the future!

The only downside of the holiday is Friday to Friday as this means for a lot of people taking an extra day of annual leave you need more flexible dates but I would recommend this holiday in an instant we all had a fantastic time

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 4 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 10 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 15 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 18 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 22 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 23 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
