Cunsey Lodge Reviews

An absolutely fantastic place with beautiful surroundings, so clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Our family had an amazing time, and the thoughtful touch of providing enough wood for both the fire and hot tub was truly appreciated. It made our weekend even more special! Highly recommend staying here.
We had a wonderful weekend at Cunsey lodge. Very comfortable and clean and the house was lovely and warm from the minute we walked in. The log burning fire was the icing on the cake with a weekend of storms. Would highly recommend and would use again.
Great place to stay with the family. We celebrated Christmas and my birthday with family a group of 7, including children. Lovely open plan accommodation and all bedrooms had an ensuite which was great. Well equipped kitchen and plenty of pans, roasting tins, plates and cutlery etc to cook and eat our Christmas dinner. Also loved the log burner. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again. Thank you
Second time we have stayed at this property. Great family house, especially with each bedroom having its own ensuite.

A spotlessly clean house , with excellent facilities ideal for a family gathering of 8 , views and walks from the door and use of a pool a short car ride or an hours walk away . The kitchen was very spacious and had everything with the exception of a potato peeler ! Maybe an air fryer would be an addition to such a high end property ? The hot tub was easy to fill and heat with the logs provided too . A superb property highly recommended
Cunsey Lodge is a lovely place to stay, is more spacious than the pictures show and in a picturesque location. The only comment I could make is the kitchen could do with a few more things, a frying pan, some smaller bowls for cookingserving and toilet roll holders in the bathrooms. Perhaps more details on finding the swimming pool! We would most definitely visit again and highly recommend it to friends and families who want to holiday together but have private roomsbathrooms. Thank you Braithwaite Estate
Was a fantastic experience for the whole family, in s stunning grounds. Will definitely return in the future
Cunsey lodge was a spacious accommodation in a great position on the edge of Lake Windermere. Louise the letting manager was kind enough to allow us early access which was extremely welcome. The only negative was the kitchen equipment needs looking at, not enough potspans, both corkscrews were of no use broken. I wouldnt hesitate to book again if these small but important tweaks were carried out.

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 8 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 12 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 14 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 14 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 17 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 26 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
