We had a family stay over the new year, the cabin was great on all levels, spacious, very clean, nice and warm , great views over the lake, the beds where very comfortable, which is a must for me, supermarkets were only a few minutes away, I would highly recommended this cabin, marks out of 10 would be 10
The view is absolutely breathtaking. The lodge has everything you need for a family to enjoy a nice holiday. The only thing that I noticed is the big spiders on the ceilings and the big bathroom not as clean on the floor. Also we had some meals at the restaurant and the meat is honestly alive. I dont recommend the restaurant. Overall we had a good experience.

On suite bathroom in main bedroom had a horrible sewage smell when you flushed the toilet.
Fantastic week, thank you so much. The lodge was great and the setting was lovely, myself and family really enjoyed. Thank you. Scott
We had a lovely relaxing holiday, 7 of us ranging from nearly 2 91. The lodge is situated on the lake, couldnt have been in a better place. It was spacious, and very well equipped. The hot tub was a hit with all of us especially my husband who suffers with his back. We were very lucky with the weather so used the outdoor space all week. The only negative is that the swimming pool wasnt warm enough for the children and cost 20 for 2 Adults and 2 children, I appreciate theres nothing the owners can do about that. Well definitely be back.
We had a lovely time staying there the lodge was lovely and clean and it had everything we needed , we had a lovely welcome hamper . The view on the lake was lovely , I would highly recommend anyone to stay here
Barbara
Thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely accommodation.Particularly enjoyed the hot tub which was clean and well maintained.
Myself, my wife and our two children 11&13 had the most amazing time at Samhchair Lodge. The accommodation was outstanding in every way and the welcome basket was such a wonderful surprise it started the holiday off beautifully. I would highly recommend the accommodation and the site it was on to anyone. We would happily holiday there every year.

This was our third time of staying and as usual we had a wonderful time.
Adrian
Wonderful property, in a very picturesque setting. Lots of wildlife on the lake, very peaceful and quiet. A perfect place to relax and recuperate, or as a base for exploring the local area. The hot tub is a nice bonus, and the water was checked daily by the owner. I would definitely recommend, and would happily return in the future.
Lovely holiday lodge in stunning location, so relaxing. Lodge has everything you need for a great break, WiFi was really good allowed me to do a few hours work remotely and steam movies etc for the family. Only slight negative was the mattress on the bed in the master room isn't great, all the other beds were super comfy.
Lovely lodge. Really clean and well equipped. I met the owner on arrival and they were both super helpful. Highly recommend
This was one of the best properties we have stayed at on the park and we have stayed at a few. Would highly recommend to others. Brilliant decorations, a welcome pack, and a really Christmassy feel. Not a single complaint!
Samhchair lodge was lovely. Had everything we could possibly need. Very modern. Stylish. Beds and bedding are hotel standard. We really had an amazing break. Only thing we didnt know was the owner calls daily to check hot tub. Would be good to put on the details. And I know its the leisure parks rule but finding the lodges for the key in the dark could be a nuisance. Would highly recommend Samhchair lodge to stay at.
Allison
Absolutely lovely lodge spacious, fabulous position on the lake, spotlessly clean, well equipped, comfortable beds & great welcome pack provided. Onsite facilities also good.
A lovely property in a very lovely setting. There was plenty of crockery etc and lots of space, everything you need really. It is a very nice site in a convenient area for the coast and the Lakes. The only downside was the leather sofas which were cold without throws and cushions. I know it was all to do with the COVID nonsense rules. It wouldnt be a problem in the Summer.
Really good lodge in prime position on lake. Comfortable beds. Good wifi and tv. Many unlabelled switches, warned by other review, we returned every switch which didn't produce results to its original position, which worked for us!. Electric fire onoff switch hidden beneath top of fire recess, then controlled by cigarettelighter sized control. This kept us warm when..... heating and hot water failed overnight on Wednesday, outofdate Sykes phone number in lodge literature for if we needed help was no good, fortunately we had other numbers and Sykes quickly contacted pleasant owner, who rang us, identified the fault code and two plumbers arrived within a couple of hours to fix it low pressure. We were quite impressed. We would like to see another coffee table so both settee dwellers had somewhere to put cups, phones, books and specs. There were lots of pint glasses and huge wine ones too, but not many smaller ones for the odd G & T, Bacardi and coke or Bailey's etc. This is something we have found at many holiday rentals, they don't have to match so long as they are there! Hot tub and deck furniture excellent, fully recommended.
Christina
We had a great holiday. Thank you.
Fantastic property and location , we were well impressed with the overall experience, there was plenty of space indoors and out , disappointed with not been able to use the gas BBQ though , one suggestion to help the guests would be label the IMPORTANT switches, nothing was labelled and as a result we turned off the the fridge and freezer and lost all our food which was an expensive error to make. All in all a brilliant holiday home, sitting in the jacuzzi or on our own pier watching the sun set over the lake is a memory that will last a lifetime.

Correspondence from Sykes on the run up to our hols was excellent. The accommodation was beautiful and had everything we needed. Lovely welcome pack for our arrival, bath and hot tub towels provided, lots of plastic plates, glasses etc for using out on the wrap around outside, and sounds daft but appreciated that it wasn't just 6 spoons, forks etc and that the owner had actually made it like a home from home with extras of so many things. We had to contact the owner once or twice re v minor things and she responded quickly and efficiently. All in all, it was a fabulous wk away and would def rebook this lodge.
Amanda
It was perfect from start to finish. The lodge was very clean and very well equipped.

A wonderful week in the Lakes. Due to COVID19 we had to cancel our plans in France. However, for a third of the price and booking only 3 weeks beforehand, we had a wonderful 7days. Only 2 hours from home too. Give it a try!

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US

This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
