Gerrida Lodge Reviews

Eleanor
Absolutely amazing lodge. Spotlessly clean and felt like luxury. Right on the edge of the lake too. Hottub was lovely and the Lodge itself had everything you could think of that you would need. Highly recommend.
Gerrida Lodge, is a first class Lodge in a lovely location adjacent to Pine Lake, where swans, ducks, cormorants and other wildlife make relaxing on the decking area all the more interesting. The Lodge consists of three bedrooms, one with an ensuite bathroom complete with walkin shower, a separate bathroom with an enormous bath. The kitchendining area is equipped with all the utensilsequipment needed for families to prepare and cook meals if required. There is also two large comfortable sofas adjacent to the dining area with a large television fixed to the wall, with log effect fire fixed below it. We enjoyed our stay there despite the weather not being too good and would certainly recommend and consider returning again.
Claire
In the listing it said it had a BBQ however we couldn't find one. There was nothing in the information book most of it was out dated during Covid times so could do with being updated. We couldn't get hold of the owner as they were not answering there phone. I also sent a message asking where it was but as of yet 3 days later still no reply. Could not get a disposable BBQ from anywhere. All the meat that I took with me for the BBQ had to be brought back home as a result. Very disappointing. Glad I didn't have any more serious issues that needed to be dealt with whilst we were there. Place was lovely though. And views was amazing. Just disappointing we could not make contact with the owners
Nicola
Everything was great, accommodation was clean and comfortable and the little extras was perfect. Wished we didn't live so far away as would definitely go back.
We had a marvellous week at Gerrida Lodge. The lodge is spacious, spotless and very comfortable. The view over the lake was amazing. We will definitely be going back for another stay.
Joanne
We absolutely loved our stay in this fantastically well equipped, super clean & comfortable lodge. It was pure luxury throughout. The owner is terrific, a lovely lady, happy to help & sort any issues, just a phone call away. The lodge & gorgeous hot tub are south facing, so benefit from sunshine for the entire day. It is set on a quiet avenue away from the main park, offering both privacy and seclusion. The lake view is simply breathtaking, dont be fooled by the map view of a little pond, it is huge & gorgeous, glittering in the sunshine, we could never tire of it. There are an abundance of birds and wildlife. We were blessed with visits from otters, ducks, geese, moorhens, cormorants, terns & a delightful resident swan family with 3 cygnets who adopted us with hourly visits during our stay. South Lakeland is an excellent location to explore Lancashire, Cumbria & the Lakes. You can be on Windermere in just 25 minutes. We genuinely had to tear ourselves away from this beautiful lodge, it is by far the best we have ever stayed in & cannot wait to return.
Adrian
Great cabin on the lake. Very clean with almost everything you need to make your stay comfortable.
When we initially arrived at the lodge it looked immaculate and had a lovely cosy atmosphere. However not long after we all noticed there were cobwebs and dust around the rooms and a lot of the dishes we had to rewash, this could be due to previous people staying not washing dishes properly. The atmosphere at the lodge is definitely nice and cosy but I think some things should be stated on the listing such as hot tub time limits, we were not aware that the hot tub could only be used between 10am and 10pm Ive stayed at many places and never had this time limit on a hot tub before and if I knew there was one I probably wouldnt have booked. We also noticed some nosey neighbours whilst being in the hot tub which was quite off putting. The view of the lake was really beautiful as well as some of the walks around the area. Over all it was a lovely lodge but due to some of the drawbacks I wont be booking here again.
Anneka
The lodge is beautiful and the view is great, the only negative we had was the road noise! Being so close to the M6 its not just a country lane youre right next to, its a major motorway. And it was a real shame as spoilt sitting outside a little, and it was loud at night trying to sleep. I think this should be noted on the booking. Facilities on site were lovely, we used the pool and the barrestaurant. Food was ok. Kids liked the little beach area. And beer garden over looking the lake was lovely. Overall, lodge spot on and facilities spot on, but the motorway noise really let it down for us.
We had an absolutely amazing time at Gerrida lodge. Would definitely recommend and look forward to staying there again. Its definitely a 1010!
Caroline
The lodge was very comfortable. There were a few areas of the lodge that had been missed during cleaning, a lot of cobwebs in some corners especially the main bathroom. Also it seemed that the hot tub wasn't maintained at all during our stay even though it said in the manual it would checked daily. We had to fill it ourselves. The lodge is in a beautiful location although it would help if in directions you directed people to walk by reception and leisure centre and go through that barrier next to the recycling area. The lodge itself was great, nice and comfy, although would be put off coming again due to the early check out time, it ate into our last day as we had to spend some time getting packed up.
Amanda
Beautiful place to stay, normally dont expect places to look like the pictures, got exactly what was advertised. Great area to visit all different places. Would highly recommend & will look to book again.
Michelle
Fantastic lodge with magnificent views over the lake lodge was super clean and luxurious and nothing had been missed in the amenities provided. Plenty to see and do nearby and the clubhouse was great.
Lovely lodge with views over the lake. We were a bit unlucky with the weather, very strong winds coming off the lake so we didnt use the deck much but would be beautiful to sit out on a good day watching the water activities. Lodge has tea, coffee, little biscuits all provided. There was fairy liquid, dishwasher tablets, kitchen foil, salt, pepper so no need to take these things with you. The WiFi was really good which pleased the kids. There are plenty of towels for the hot tub, would have been handy to have a dryer to dry them and swimming costumes off. Very dog friendly, with a towel, treats, bowls etc
The lodge was lovely and well equipped with everything you needed. The views were stunning from the decking. The sofas were slightly too small for 6 people to sit comfortably for an evening. The extra touches are very thoughtful with a nice bottle of wine there for you on arrival. Very dog friendly with toys, treats and blankets provided for them. The only downside was It would have been nice to have been advised there was no iron before we arrived so we could have brought our own with us. Overall an excellent lodge and definitely recommend to anyone wanting a holiday in the lakes.
Gillian
Gerrida lodge is absolutely stunning and in the perfect location. The photos do not do this lodge justice at all. The lodge is luxurious, immaculate and super comfortable. We stayed for 7 nights with the added bonus of some fantastic weather. The lake view is stunning, there's a hot tub to relax in also with a lake view, comfortable patio furniture so you can sit and watch the abundance of wildlife. There's otters about too if your up early enough! The lodge has everything you need for a perfect relaxing getaway or base for the Lake District and surrounding area. We can't wait to return. Thank you for an amazing and well needed holiday.
Jocelyn
What a beautiful place to spend with friends. Definitely had a great time. First class lodge. Will go back again. Straight forward from booking till the end, no hassles.
William
Gerrida Lodge is immaculate, idyllic, luxury, peaceful, stunning and absolutely perfect for a relaxing family holiday with your favourite people. I honestly couldnt recommend it enough. It is the perfect hub for an adventure around the Lake District and all of the other local delights. A magnificent stay, thank you, we look forward to our next visit very soon!
We stayed here for 5 days and was the best lodge we have ever stayed in. We walked in and it has the wow factor beautiful laid out and immaculate dog friendly lodge. Beds are so comfortable and makes a lot of difference having a nice proper duvet cover on instead of the normal basic one that don't fasten at the bottom. Bathroom was beautiful and relaxing with all the added touches and smelt lovely. The best part was the amazing view of Pine Lake and the outdoor furniture was so comfy. On arrival key was is key safe as detailed form Tracey in an email. Would highly recommend definitely five star service and accommodation. We will definitely be back. Thanks for making it a lovely holiday to remember. 5
Reanne

The best lodge stayed in yet. The view is unreal , loved the hot tub all the rooms were spotless , loved the added extra like the dog basket with a few toys in and treats and the bowls , perfect incase we forgot to bring them with us , also sugar abs little biscuits for teas and coffees were there also, again amazing little touches made you feel at home. Thank you Tracy for you amazing lodge and cant wait to return in the future.

Excellent Lodge with lovely view of the lake. The lodge is huge and nicely furnished and very modern. Hot Tub nice and private.
Lovely lodge . Clean as a whistle with everything you need. I could live in there full time.
What a wonderful stay at Greta Lodge. Clean, modern and had everything you needed for a long weekend away.
Nicola
Fantastically appointed lodge in one of the best positions on site. The park is situated in a great area to travel from. We did Blackpool, Keswick and Manchester in the weekSurrounded by nature and the site restaurant was really good. The gym and pool are expensive to use, but immaculate. We will definitely be back.
Tracey
A beautifully decorated lodge with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Added touch of a Christmas tree and decorations. A lovely New Year stay meeting family half way.
We had an absolutely wonderful time. The property was immaculate and very well stocked. The best view of the lake by far. Loads of wifelife. The sun rises and sunsets were breathtaking. Would definitely stay again and recommend
Gorgeous lodge. Well equipped. Spotlessly clean. Would definately go again. Also.... double bonus we saw a wild otter just outside the bedroom window, that was such a wonderful moment.
Jennifer
What a fabulous stay at Gerrida lodge. Tracey the owner has thought of everything so its like being home from home but with a better view onto the lake. I honestly was sad we had to go home and we will be booking again.
Lovely lodge brilliant views Lovely
Fatima
Very clean, fully equipped and well decorated lodge. Absolutely beautiful views of the lake from the decking, with lots of comfy outdoor seating. We really enjoyed breakfast, bbq's and a soak in the hot tub with a gorgeous view. We had a lovely time and will definitely be back again!
Evelyn Diane
Perfect in every way and we would love to book again
The holiday property was amazing. Cannot fault it one bit. Sykes as a company though add on too many fees. Times like this we should be pulling together not exploiting
Richard
Only draw back was traffic noise.
Lovely lodge, clean and comfortable. Fabulous view of the lake. Added bonus of hot tub.
Really lovely lodge and a great holiday Fantastic attention to detail, lots of lovely touches and very comfortable. The place was spotlessly clean, well equipped with comfortable beds and superb bathrooms and kitchen. The view over the lake is gorgeous with great outdoor furniture to relax and enjoy it. You are aware of road noise but it doesnt spoil being outdoors and is not at all intrusive indoors. Location is great with easy access to the Lakes and Yorkshire too and nearby Carnforth handy for shopping. We also liked the farm shops cafes Greenlands Farm Village and Ireby Farm.
Jason Michael
Lovely lodge, spotlessly clean and comfortable and great attention to detail.
