Beautiful cottage in a great location. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dog and the hot tub was great place to enjoy the views over the estuary. Appledore has lots to offer; pubs, cafes and plenty of local shops to explore and a boat trip to Instow to enjoy paddle boarding in the evening sun is highly recommended.
Ray
Lovely comfortable house in a great position with wonderful views over the estuary. Great base to explore Appledore and the local area, lots of super places to eat. We only used one of the two available parking spaces as the area was inaccessible for our larger 4x4 due to residents parking along the narrow access road. We parked in a nearby public car park and bought a weekly permit for around 25.

Castaway Cottage is in the heart of Appledore close to all the amenities. It is a beautiful place to stay inside and out. Comfortable and luxurious place to rest with stunning views from.every window. The garden has great seating amongst all the beautiful flowers and the hot tub has the most amazing views.

Castaway Cottage is a hidden Gem. It has a very relaxing vibe. It appealed to the whole family. Stunning views from every window, beautiful garden.. extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly think of ! The Hot tub was a great hit with the children. Very dog friendly too. The only note I could make is that the stairs could prove dif ficult for someone infirm. Appledore is a very pretty fishing village . Highly recommend, we didnt want to leave .
Steve
The property was lovely and very well equipped. Really liked the welcome treats for humans and canines. We would definitely come again as the dogs were very settled (the main thing!) and it was a lovely and quiet area despite the residential setting, with some amazing views and evening skies. Plenty of walking opportunities from the cottage to Bide ford, Northam Burrows and around Instow. John's Deli did very well out of us.
Sarah
Its a lovely property in a stunning location enjoying wonderful views over the area We booked it for a special occasion and werent disappointed, thank you
Lawrence
This is a nice house with a lovely outdoor space. However there is a significant issue access issue. Although there are two dedicated parking spaces these can only be accessed down a very narrow lane which is lined with parked cars so only if you have a very small car can you get to park, I have a Kia sportage and ended up doing considerable damage (insurance claim) trying to get into the parking area. Even if you do access the dedicated parking spaces you have a steep path to drag up your cases
Linda
Really lovely house, has everything you could possibly need, beautiful view from front windows.
Andrew
Absolutely stunning views from main bedroom and living quarters.Great place too watch sunrises and sunsets. Cottage just beautiful.
David
We have had a lovely holiday from 29th April to 6th May 2023. The house is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed its amenities such as the hot tub, wide selection of board games and well equipped kitchen. The welcome pack was an added bonus and thank you very much! We would love to return in the future.
Tracy
Amazing place , wanted for nothing , really dog friendly , design of the house was fantastic , felt like staying in a boutique hotel and the views were stunning and location perfect.
Sarah
Cottage is beautifully decorated and in the most fabulous location! Views are exceptional and amenities are all on the doorstep. Parking is an issue if you have a larger vehicle so we parked on the street adjacent.
Amy
Getting to the parking spaces was incredibly tight. The walk up the path to the house is pretty steep, which proved troublesome with young children / pushchairs etc. Well equipped house but lots of stairs as the house was over 3 levels. This proved difficult with only one stair gate, trying to supervise young children near the stairs. Also the gard en has lots of levels so again, not great for young children. Beautiful views from the house but would suit adults or a family with older children.
Joan
A perfect place to stay. Wonderful view. Beautifully furnished. Very relaxing. Cant wait to go back.
Mark
Castaway Cottage is a delight. Tucked away in a quiet street in Appledore, the property is thoughtfully laid out to make the most of the views and privacy available. The whole top floor is given over to the master bedroom, complete with panoramic views. The remaining two bedrooms occupy the ground floor, leaving the middle floor for the living, din ing and kitchen facilities. All rooms have a luxury feel and every attention to detail has been considered. A wonderful base for a great holiday.
Ingrid
This is an amazing holiday home that feels like staying in a 5 star hotel with the comfort of a luxury home. We all loved the house and garden/hot tub. Appledore has lots to do and the children (4, 6 & 7) were never bored! First time in a long time weve been able to keep the children happy and entertained but also find time for ourselves to enjoy, the bath in the master bedroom is a must or swimming in the quay at high tide. This place is an absolute gem.
LINDA
Beautiful cottage with everything that you could ask for. Brilliant hot tub and lots of extras for the beach . Will definitely book again.
Sandra
A real 5 property and dog friendly too. The attention to detail in the decoration and accessories has exceeded every cottage we previously visited. The views are breathtaking with the added bonus of the hot tub. I would highly recommend this cottage and its in a great location. The free standing bath in the bedroom is a lovely touch and added that touch of luxury. The beds were also so comfortable. We had a lovely week and will return soon

What a truly lovely cottage. Clean, comfortable and fabulous views. Having a wet room on the ground floor was a definite plus for when we brought our dog back from the beach in Instow. A lovely relaxing week.
