Quiet peaceful location. Comfortable bedroom and living space. Spacious well equipped kitchen. Safe secure garden for our dogs. Nearby dog friendly walks and beaches. We found Stargazy an ideal base to explore North Devon. We hope to be back.
John
Really nice property, well equipped and was cleaned to an excellent standard. Having recently had knee surgery I found the 1st floor kitchen ground floor living room not the ideal layout. Spiral staircase was a challenge too. Need to be prepared to use car to do most things. The EV charging point is easy to use, you scan the code on the charging poRead moreint, download the app. The local pub is excellent and friendly with good food. Always ring to check opening times. Slow cooked lamb was great Hide

Jessica
Stargazey barn is a fabulous property and is in a great location to access different towns and beaches nearby. The padlock is secure for dogs and a dog friendly property, with a bed and treats available. I would highly recommend this property and we enjoyed our stay.
Paula
The barn was beautiful and was very welcoming. We just struggled finding it initially as the post code took us the opposite side of the lane. It was ideal for days out and the little local shop was handy. Local pub was only a small stroll away but just be mindful of days and times it opens. The facilities were excellent and our fur babies were well catered for. The mesne kitchen was lovely and spacious. We loved the hot tub, although would have liked to stay in longer than 15 mins.
Karen
A beautiful converted barn in a pretty village, ideally situated just a few miles from the North Devon Coast. A dog friendly property with excellent facilities with an enclosed paddock perfect for exercising the pup. The hot tub is an amazing extra facility along with an amazing kitchen with everything you'll need for your stay, Everything was spot lessly clean. It was my second visit and I'll be booking my third visit soon.
Phillip
The cottage had not been cleaned to an acceptable standard, lots of dog hair and doggy smell. Although we complained and a cleaner was sent, it still wasnt really done well enough. Uncomfortable bed. Hot tub good, but all outdoor cushions mouldy. Enjoyed the location, quiet ,and easy walk to nearest pub.
Ian
Had a wonderful stay with the 3 dogs. Would definitely recommend going for anyone who likes piece and quiet.
Alan
We spent a week at Stargazey Barn with our Dachshund Sid, and it was superb. The property has everything you need if you want to cook anything from breakfast to roast dinner. It is very comfortable, and the hot tub in the private garden is great. The paddock is excellent for the dog.. The village has a small shop with limited stock. The village pub is friendly and serves good food. The local roads are narrow but not too difficult to navigate. All in all a lovely place to stay.
Liane
Lovely accommodation . Everything we needed was provided. I would highly recommend .
Daryll
Loved this place because it was of the beaten track. Just what we needed, peace and quiet and not too far from the beaches, which our 2 dogs loved. Definitely be revisiting sometime in the future.
Fiona
Lovely week away. Hot tub was fab! Enclosed safe spaces for our 2 large dogs which was great. All round great time.
Kim
we thoroughly enjoyed our stay , the barn was warm and comfortable had everything we could possibly of needed , village pub was very welcoming, upstairs kitchen diner worked very well , very dog friendly took ours a few goes up the stairs but they mastered them eventually, hot tub was well maintained but was not the one in photos looks like they ha ve changed it to a smaller one which was disappointing, we did had a rather wet and windy stay , the trees were very noisy and kept us awake
Tracy
Lovely well decorated, comfortable and fully stocked cottage. The upstairs kitchen had everything needed, and more, to cook a full roast dinner. The hot tub was a lovely addition and very relaxing after a long dog walk. Great local pub within walking distance. Village shop is run by the church so does not sell alcohol. Great walks but be prepared t o drive. The Tarka trail starts in Bideford if you like walking, cycling and seeing wild life.
Andy
We had a great stay over Christmas , the Barn was wonderful as was the Hot Tub. Great food in the village Pub, close to a number of Beaches.
Vivienne
Had a great holiday, perfect base Only negative was the tiny one track roads to get to main rd from cottage which I really didnt like Very rural location
Les
The cottage was very comfortable and has all the facilities you would need (and more!) The hot tub being especially relaxing! Its fairly well located near riverside and coastal towns. It was very hot during our stay and doors and windows had to be left open most of the time. This led to lots of flies invading the property which was annoying. The st airs are a nice feature but they are narrow and less agile users may find them difficult to negotiate. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay.
Stewart
The barn is in a sleepy little village called Buckland Brewer, there is a community shop and a good pub that serves lovely food. If you want peace and relaxation then this is the place for you. There are horses in the field which can be seen from the lawned garden so if you take a dog it might be worth considering. The accommodation could not be fa ulted it is fully equipped with everything you will need and the hot tub is a great addition. A wonderful place to stay
Martin
Great cottage with a superb kitchen everything you need and moor. Nice enclosed garden that was perfect for the dog. Just a shot drive to the beaches.
Ian
Well presented barn conversion with comfortable bed and lounge area. En suite bathroom with shower. Quirky upstairs kitchen. Well equipped with everything youd need for your stay. Lovely outside areas, garden overlooking paddock and private enclosed courtyard with hot tub. Sunbeds, chairs and tables available outside. Lovely quiet location. Short w alk into village with small convenience store and local country pub.
Ian
Nice cottage but a bit to out in the sticks for us
Jeff
Lovely barn conversion , all you need in the kitchen , comfy sofas , bonus of having a hot tub , most important to us , was the enclosed gardens for our dogs. Very dog friendly.
Jill
Very comfortable barn beautifuly decorated & so well equipped wanted for nothing ! Lovely big garden for dog to play in.
Gill
A superb place for a couple and their dogs to escape the pressures of modern life. Lying in the hot tub listening to silence punctuated only by bird song, idyllic. Would heartily recommend both the cottage and the nearby Northam country park with miles of beach to exhaust the dogs.
Karl
Want a quiet location with local shop and pub on the doorstep and a beautiful coastline and countryside around you then this is for you. The accomodation is first class, as seasoned holiday cottage users this is in our top three! We struggle to think of anything the owners have not provided or supplier in the cottage. From an extremely spacious bed , plenty of storage and hanging area, excellent fitted shower room to a extremely comfortable and bright lounge and finally a lovely kitchen.
Jenni
Lovely cottage, very clean. The patio garden was lovely little sun trap as was the paddock garden which our labs loved. I was a little wary about horses but they are used to dogs and move away up the field- ours were fine with them after day or so. Pub round the corner serves lovely food and service was fab, they were so welcoming we visited every day, sat in the garden with the dogs, who got treats off the locals! Bideford is about 10 mins drive and easy access to lots of beautiful beaches!
Debra
The Barn was very well equipped and comfortable. Kitchen equipment was very clean. The courtyard garden and paddock were ideal for our two dogs. - Labernese and a Cocker pup ( we used the pups crate inside, to stop them going up the stairs). Lovely, light filled barn, in a good location - quiet area, but 5 min walk to pub, shop and a lovely church - We attended Midnight Mass - warm welcome and a lovely service. We had a great Christmas ( the tree made it feel very homely) .
Christine
Great cottage with everything you need. For my two dogs brilliant as they could play and run around the paddock. Even though I have a very high prey dog once the horses had moved further away up the adjoining field I could let them out to play and get rid of energy. Would definitely come back at this time of year. Only thing to be aware of is the s piral staircase once they got used to it they ran up and down without any problems.
Sarah
Brilliant location for early morning trips to the beach (15 mins in the car to Westward Ho!, Northam Burrows and Bucks Mill. Also as a base for travelling both inland and North/South Devon coast. The garden and paddock here is completely enclosed, fantastic for dogs. The hot tub is highly recommended, especially at night to gaze up at the stars whi lst relaxing. The cottage itself is fully equipped, including a few towels, tea towels, salt, pepper, cleaning items etc.
