About Wayside

Wayside, located in the coastal town of Seaton, in East Devon, is the ideal property for families and friends looking for a seaside holiday together. Within easy distance of the beaches, the towns shops and eateries, and the popular UNESCO Jurassic Coast, this 4 bedroomed holiday home, with hot tub, is a great choice at any time of the year.

Arranged over two floors, the ground floor accommodation boasts a spacious lounge with log burner giving the room a cosy feel during the colder months. The spacious kitchen diner is a delight and a sociable space for the group to come together to enjoy mealtimes.

On the ground floor, is the first of the four bedrooms, a small single, which overlooks the garden at the front. Head upstairs where you will find three further bedrooms, a king size, a double and a twin room, serviced by the family bathroom.

An additional shower room is situated on the ground floor and perfectly placed for when you step into or out of the hot tub outside. Stepping out from the lounge or kitchen and you will find a large, decked seating area with comfortable seating area and relaxing garden furniture, perfect for a spot of alfresco dining or relaxing with a book and a cold drink.

Steps lead from the decking to the garden and the hob hub, with its gazebo and feature lighting, creating the perfect spot to lie back and enjoy the bubbles. The rest of the garden is mainly lawn with mature trees and shrubs and the ideal place for children or pets to run about.

A unique seaside town in East Devon, Seaton is home to many fine examples of Victorian and Edwardian architecture, beautiful gardens, and a whole range of shops, bars restaurants and entertainment. The mile long pebble beach is an ideal spot for swimming or water sports with kayaks or stand up paddleboards available to hire.

Bicton Park and Gardens - EX9 7BJ

This year round attraction has been described as Devon's most magnificent historic gardens.  Located in the Otter Valley area of East Devon you can enjoy a fun day out in a picturesque setting. Highlights include historic Palm house, containing some of the world’s most endangered species and Bicton Woodland Railway - which takes you on a 25 minute journey through the lovely grounds.  For children there is a miniature village with mini golf, nature trail and indoor play area.

Dorset Teddy Bear Museum - DT1 1JU

This family orientated museum is dedicated to Teddy Bears both old and new Edward Bear and his family of people sized bears are one of the main attractions.  You can buy teddy bear gifts from the quaint shop including top notch brands.  The Steiff Teddy Bear and Merrythought bears are very popular.  Open 7 days a week all year round (except 25th and 26th December) this is a perfect all weather place to visit.
Hedgehog Hospital at Prickly Ball Farm - EX20 3TA

If you are looking for a fun family day out with a difference then a visit to the Hedgehog Hospital is a great choice. While visiting the hospital children can learn about these shy wild animals and the dangers they face in the wild as well as how we can help them. The farm is a halfway house for sick hedgehogs and children can meet some of the animals that are almost ready to go back to the wild. The farm also has a gift shop, a coffee shop and a wildlife garden as well as a pet's area with Rabbits and Guinea Pigs.
Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park - DT2 8PY

Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park is a magical place to visit with grand gardens and plenty of animals to meet.  From goats and ponies to alpacas and pot bellied pigs this attraction is excellent value for money.  You can feel free to explore the grounds too which are especially lovely on sunny days.  You will see majestic floral displays, stone terraces, a temple and even a lake.
