Sgubor Reviews

Amazing accommodation in a lovely location. Any questions asked were responded to straight away, we would definitely recommend a visit.
Nicola
A beautiful cosy cottage in a tranquil location surrounded by fields of animals to say hello to on our walks. A short drive away to Aberffraw Bay which is the most stunning little beach with sand dunes and very peaceful place to relax. A very good location to get to other parts of Anglesey. We lit the log burner on our first night and enjoyed the private hot tub on other nights. Such a lovely place to return to after a day of making memories. The hosts were lovely and on hand if we needed anything but we had everything we needed the cottage was very well equipped. We will definitely return.
Beautiful cottage in a great location. Owners took the time to personally visit and welcome us after they'd finished work. Clean with great facilities. Would thoroughly recommend and will surely be back again! Thanks for a great stay!
Great little find for myself & the dog. Modern & cozy & in a good location to visit the island. Only regret was i didn't get to use the hot tub.. Views from the patio doors were amazing & so was the border collie on site made friend with my collie straight away. Will be back again to finish off exploring the island..
Lovely cottage with a hot tub. We had a lovely few days to relax. Owner was really friendly and helpful during the stay. Highly recommended and definitely will be back.
Fantastic property! We really enjoyed our stay and a had a really relaxing time. Would highly recommend

My partner and I had a lovely stay in this property. The views of the mountains from the cottage are stunning. It is based on a farm in a very peaceful location, perfect for exploring Anglesey and northern Wales We went to the south stack lighthouse and also Aber falls, both of which I'd recommend, we loved being greeted by the farm dog everyday too! To get to any food or villages we did need to drive but we didn't mind that at all as it was very relaxing being away from everything. The bath in the room and the hot tub were an added luxury, we made use of them everyday. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious with the lounge area there too and the bedroom was very comfortable. we also made use of the shower which had no faults warm very quickly and a constant high pressure. It was the best little base in both the good and bad weather and I imagine if you had more people and joined the two next door properties together an option I believe it would work very well. 5 days was the perfect amount of time for us and I would definitely recommend the property.
Alison
Lovely secluded cottage within reach of all required facilities. Very comfortable and well equipped. Perfect for a relaxing break.
Amanda
Lovely cottage, everything we needed, good location, any problems the owners got straight back to us.
Thomas
Amazing start to finish
Jacqueline
Disappointing. Cottage has no private outdoor space as listed, simply a small table and chairs overlooking the carpark of the campsite. The inside of the property is lovely, but we were unable to use the hottub for the first 24 hours as we hadn't been left robes. When we asked about this we were told the laundry had not come back yet. That and being told the wetroom flood was probably due to hair in the drain were not useful comments to holiday makers who had paid for, and expected, all the elements of the listing to function. With a little more care in preparation, and an amended Sykes listing, this would make a great holiday let.
Beautiful location, perfectly clean and had everything we needed.
Had a great 7 nights stay. The place was very clean and comfortable. From the kitchen we had views of Snowdonia in the distance. The private hot tub was great for an evening dip after being out all day. Added bonus was being greeted by the farm dog every morning. Would definitely recommend.
Sharna
Absolutely beautiful place to stay myself and my partner felt really at home there will definitely book again some time
Natalie
We really really enjoyed our time at Sgubor. It was exactly what we wanted and the place itself was even better than the pictures suggest, and they were lovely! It was so quiet and peaceful, we didnt see another soul even though there are 2 other barn conversions next to ours. We had our own private hottub, which we made full use of! The place is on a working farm and the little working Collie would come and greet us every morning, which was a lovely added bonus! We will definitely be returning this summer and decided we would make it a little tradition of ours to stay at Sgubor each time. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!!
The property was perfect and the owners were easy to get ahold of and really helpful. I think it would be good to have additional hangers in the bedroom, but a really lovely stay
The property was absolutely perfect! The stay exceeded our expectations from both the description and the previous reviews. You have created a beautiful home from home that we thoroughly enjoyed visiting. I have already recommended you to everyone I know!
This is a superb property in a great location. We stayed in October and didn't need the log fire as it's so well insulated and comfortable bit of a shame really as its an attractive feature. Lovely sized rooms, well equipped, clean and well presented, loads of hot water. Hot tub was lovely and private. Everything was faultless. Not sure if this is a critism or not depends what you want but we never met or even saw the owners during our 6 night stay. A little more of a welcomeguidance upon arrival would have been useful. Overall, loved our stay and we would highly recommend this property and the location.
Lovely cottage and hot tub. We enjoyed the stay very much and the accommodation was as we expected from the website. It would be nice to have a few recommendations for eating out locally somewhere in the information pack.
Adrian
Lovely property finished to a really high standard, a real touch of luxury in the lovely Anglesey countryside. We had a wonderful stay and loved the location in the centre of the island close to the A55 making all parts a maximum of 20mins drive. The barn conversion has been done superbly well with a quality finish all around and one of the best wet rooms I have ever seen. I would expect the property to remain really warm in winter given the modern insulation and double glazing. We had a couple of windy days with gusts of up to 40mph and no drafts, though there was wind noise in the living area as its 'upstairs'. The living area has the French doors facing Snowdonia which are the only view available as the other two windows in the room are at almost floor level because of the roofline. Though located on a farm the front of the barn faces the large grass area and the next 'field' contains the yurts so no obvious farmyard scenes. Behind the building is a open barn that contains mainly machinery so no risk of farmyard animal noises or smells. Despite our visit coinciding with the first week of the school holidays we found the roads very quiet compared to the south of England and a real pleasure to drive around the island. Superb sandy beaches, particularly at Newborough on the south coast. Also easy access to Snowdonia and the attractions of the North Wales coast. All in all a great place to stay.
Kirsty
We had a lovely chilled week and would definitely return.
Geoffrey
The property was lovely and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property. It was also ideally located being in a quiet location but not too far from Llangefni for shopping etc, and centrally located on Anglesey giving easy access to all parts of the island, which is just what we wanted. I would strongly recommend staying at this property, we had no issues with our stay in it.
Michael
A beautiful barn conversion in pristine condition with nice owners on site.
Lovely cottage, nice and chilled. Very spacious for two. Nice to go for walks around the area. If you looking for a place close to pubs, restaurants, and shops, they are drive away. It felt like you were on your own which just what we wanted.
Richard
We stayed for a short break, 2 nights, lovely barn conversion, fitted out to a high standard, very clean and well presented. Surrounded by farmland, great for walks. Hot tub is set up in a sheltered out building, short 15 second walk from the property. Can highly recommend!...
Georgie
Amazing last minute find! This cottage was a 1010, extremely clean and the hosts were very friendly. Beautiful location to explore north wales.
What an absolutely wonderful stay at the property! Modern, clean and all the amenities you will need! In a great location, remote but restaurants, supermarkets, butchers etc in close proximity. The hot tub area was the icing on the cake! It was all set for when we checked in! The owners were always on hand if we had any questions or needed any recommendations. We really did have a wonderful time and cant wait to return. If you are looking for a relaxing, romantic break away look no further.
Stephen
Excellent accommodation in a lovely area, we couldn't fault our stay and would definitely recommended this accommodation. We stayed for 2 nights and everything was great the property is very comfortable and had everything that we required for our stay.
Alexander
The cottage was absolutely fantastic. Loved every minute of it. Cant fault it one bit and when we was greeted by the lovely ladys who run it upon arrival, we thought that was a great touch and they were alway there if every we needed them. We will definitely be back!
