Smithy Cottage Reviews

We had a wonderful week at Smithy Cottage in beautiful Cemaes. The cottage was comfortable, warm, well equipped & made even more special by the relaxing hot tub which we made full use of. A special thank you for welcoming our 3 dogs who also greatly enjoyed their stay.
The accommodation was perfect for us, plenty big enough for 2 plus our dog. Great to have a hot tub which was well used during our stay. The owners were great, so friendly and helpful. Would definately reccomend this property.
Sandra
A lovely break for Christmas with our dog. Thank you to DJ for the help you gave us.
A fabulous bolt hole , the hot tub was just what the dr ordered after lots of walking, thank you very much
We enjoyed a very peaceful and relaxing few days at Smithy Cottage. The owner was always at hand if needed and lived close by in case of any emergencies if any arose but they didn't. Great facilities and the large bubbling hot tub was very welcome even on the coolest of nights. Will definitely recommend this place for couples who just want an enjoyable and relaxing break away. Great local pub and award winning chippy nearby.
Absolutely gorgeous little cottage spotless and in the most perfect location. So close to everything yet still quiet and relaxing. Had everything you could need inside. This is our 3rd mini dog brake this place tops every other cottage we have stayed in absolutely recommend. Hosts very friendly and helpful I couldnt knock any part of this mini brake everything was perfect
Fantastic studio apartment with great host David, used jacuzzi every day , great location especially for our four legged friends . . around corner from river walk and 10 mins from Cemaes beach and harbour. Super compact and efficient but be weary smaller than it looks on website if travelling with big dogs.

Smithy cottage is perfect for a couples break with dogs. It has everything you could need and DJ the owner is fantastic and if you require any help he is on it straight away. The location is perfect and just a short walk into the village with a great pub the Stag and the lovely beaches. We had a fantastic week and would highly recommend Ceames as a location and DJ as the perfect host. Thanks for an amazing week. Will see you again in the future.

Absolutely loved the cottage. Very clean, comfy and hot tube was such a bonus David and Lee are so nice and friendly will definitely be going back.
We had a lovely stay at Smithy Cottage, compact but had everything we needed for our stay. DJ met us on arrival, a lovely guy and gave us lots of advice and tips for places to visit. The people of Cemaes Bay were so friendly and welcoming, hope to visit again in the future. Thank again DJ
Carolyn
Absolutely beautiful property very well equipped couldn't fault it in any way. DJ and Lee we're amazing nothing was too much trouble they even invited us to have drinks with them which was lovely. Will definitely be booking again thankyiu for a wonder holiday.
Terence
Excellent apartment, everything we needed was there, the 2 lads who owned it where great, could not have been more helpful, hot tub was a real bonus.
Lovely place to stay. Couldn't fault it. Just like home from home except no stairs. Highly recommended. Owner very approachable and accommodating.
Nicola
Lovely little cottage. Was ideal for our dogs and close to the beach for walks with beautiful scenery. Cottage decor was classy and the cleanliness was top notch. Would definitely recommend
We really enjoyed our stay here, cant fault it on arrival it was very clean and kitchen was very well equipped and to our delight there was a nespresso coffee maker and milk frother as we do enjoy a good coffee. The hot tub was an added bonus, which was well maintained and lovely to relax in even on a cold rainy night. The village was lovely and friendly and easy walk to beaches and pubs and cafes.
Gillian
Perfect little cottage for a break, a little bit too much stuff for the size however it has everything and more you need. Only thing I would say on a slight negative review is maybe the hottub could do with a awing so it can be used come rain or shine. Apart from that very clean, perfect location, beautiful yard for dogs. David the owner is awesome and will to help with anything you need. The stags pub is very friendly and allow dogs, The harbour do a good Sunday lunch and also allow dogs and the bell cafe has some beautiful coffee and cake. We fell in love with Cemaes Bay and will definitely be returning. Thank you David for everything
Richard
Lovely place to stay. The hosts are extremely welcoming & helpful. The place is perfectly placed for exploring the local area. Will definitely come back

Smithy Cottage was completely perfect in so many ways. 1. It's dog friendly. 2. It was a good suze for two people. 3. It was lovely and warm and cosy. 4. The bed was very comfortable with a gorgeous duvet. 5. The cottage was in a very good and clean condition. 6. The cottage was so well equipped with heaters, a fan, a hairdryer, a large fridge freezer and a washing machine as well as many other useful items. 7. A lovely hot tub in a fully enclosed private courtyard. It was so very lovely to receive a birthday card and a bottle of Prosecco, a special touch.

This is a reallly nice cottage right on the high street. The property was very clean and had everything you need for a great break. We used it as a base and went out during the day and then back to the hot tub in the evening. I would definately recommend it
Carole
Your holiday accommodation met our needs very well. One suggestion Curtains to pull across enabling the kitchenlounge to become separate during the night. Obviously no issue if just a couple staying tho a separator curtain would give the bedroom more of a private bedroom feel. Thought more applicable for clients staying with dogs like us. Our

We had a great time at Smithy Cottage, hot tub a bonus with very safe patio area for our two dogs. Beautiful beach, Riverside and costal walks right on the door step with shops ,pub two minutes away. Cottage had everything you needed.
We spent together a week at the cottage exploring Angelsey and it's lovely beaches, which would be amazing on a nice sunny day but we can't have everything. The studio was spotlessly clean and comfortable. We cooked most evenings was really pleasantly surprised at how well equipped the studio was. The kitchen and bathroom are beginning to look a little tired, however don't let that put you off. The hot tub was fabulous, a lovely treat at the end of the day. A nice touch was the owner contacting us on arrival to ensure everything was fine and being on hand if we needed anything.
Catherine
This property is very small! However it is well equipped with everything you might need and the owner has been creative with the space available. It is very clean and modern. The bed and sofa are very comfortable and although there were storms raging outdoors we were always warm and cosy. The hot tub is great for relaxing in. Although storm Eunice didnt stop us getting in it every day, a permanent gazebo fixture around it would truly make it an all weather accessory. The property has a fantastic location with only a few minutes walk to the beach, river walk and coastal paths. The owner was friendly and helpful and available on the phone for any queries. We spent 4 very happy nights here with our dog.
Very well situated property with plenty to do in area
Kealey
Had a nice break just a couple of bits to be aware of. You can hear EVERY bit of noise from the adjoining accommodation, hot tub is on the main road it is private but you do get a lot of road noise, no hot water for the last night and check out morning which ended our break on a slightly bad note. Other than that the accommodation was clean and has everything you need for a break away.
Teresa
Enjoyable week I think it needs a sign outside saying smithy cottage, owners very helpful would go again but in summer
The descripton said there were sliding doors to the bedroom but there wasn't any and there was no heating in the ensuite.

The property was clean and very cosy. We enjoyed our stay and DJ was a lovely host and so easily available if needs be however we didnt need anything as the place was just perfect for us. Would definitely recommend this place. Thank you for an enjoyable stay
Smithy cottage was well equipped and lovely & clean. Owners are very accessible and helpful. Would stay there again.
Lovely area for walks ,restaurants etc Enjoyed our stay, very clean A bit ... Lovely area for walks ,restaurants etc Enjoyed our stay, very clean A bit small for three large dogs and all their gear There needs to be at least one empty cupboard to store dog food ,bowls etc
Everything about Smithy Cottage was brilliant. I had a fantastic week here and my two elderly dogs felt very much at home. The hot tube was extremely clean, as was the annexe. Everything was clean and I couldnt want for any kitchen gadgets. It was fully stocked. The accommodation was about 300 metres from the cute harbour and beach. David, the owner was very helpful and friendly. I would thoroughly recommend this property to individuals or couples.
Car parking is next door and access via road round corner, not a problem but I wouldnt call it on site parking
Jeremy
Enjoyed our stay particularly the hot tub which was fabulous. Cottage in a great position for walks and access to the village including two very dog friendly pubs, the Stag and the Harbour. Picturesque Harbour only a short walk. David the owner very helpful, friendly and accommodating even gave us both a card and present when he discovered we were hollidaying on our Birthdays that week. Slight problem with the shower head being loose but would definitely return and loved our week away.
Angela
We found the property very clean and comfortable. Perfect for us to enjoy Cemaes bay. Ideal location for exploring Anglesey. David and Lee came within a few minutes when we had a problem with the t.v. They were extremely friendly and helpful.
Was perfect spot 2 mi. Walk to beach and shops beautiful walk definitely be back
You can get sounds from adjoining property above your bedroom, depending on who is renting it at the time. That said no other problems and it didnt spoil the holiday. Otherwise very pleased.Just giving our honest feedback.
Alison
Lovely stay at Smithy Cottage which was perfect for the 2 of us. Great location and a Hot Tub which was fabulous. David the owner also on hand if you needed anything. Would definitely stay again.
We had a 3 night break at Smithy Cottage and enjoyed every minute. The communication ahead of our arrival was spot on and the cottage had been heated in advance of our arrival, which was much appreciated for a December stay! The facilities were lovely and functional and the hot tub was fantastic. Although a lot of the local area was closed due to restrictions this didnt impact at all, the local area is so beautiful and the walk down to the beach is quick and scenic. Would definitely return in the future!
