The cottage is in a beautiful position in a field with 360 views of countryside. It is immaculate, cosy, tidy and well equipped. Our favourite thing to do was spend time in the hot tub star gazing. Our dog loved being able to roam around the extensive garden. Kath could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Jack's Barn is set in a beautiful location, it was ideal for our Golden Retrievers who had the freedom and security to run free , which of course they did. The cottage was quaint well equipped, warm and welcoming. Our only bugbear was the master bed, so uncomfortable thin and without sounding too judgemental (overused). We ended up pushing the 2 siRead morengles together and sleeping in the smaller room. Kath was lovely. Hide

Fabulous cottage in a beautiful private location. We had a lovely time. The grounds are all fenced in so the dog could run around without any concerns of an escape & the hot tub & outside area is perfect for relaxing. There is also a lovely pub at the end of the lane which serves great good. We will definitely be back for a longer stay in future!

This was our second visit this year. It is so peaceful and quiet at Jacks Barn with only fields for neighbours. It really is like a secret location. Jack's barn whilst small is very well equipped with everything you need for 4 people to stay. For us the best thing about it is the large hot tub especially when it's dark. The huge lawned garden is fu lly secure so we could let our labrador roam. The biscuits/cakes/milk on arrival were a lovely touch. Downstairs WC very useful too.
Debbie
Another great holiday at Jacks Barn. Perfect location and everything we could possibly ask for. We will be back next year
Jonathan

Very nice meals in the dog friendly Horseshoe inn just up the lane. Lovely walks along the canal route up to Goytre Wharf, finished off with a soak in the fantastic hot tub. A week of relaxation and peaceful bliss, didn't want to leave. Will definitely return.

A wonderful location, it is not far from shops and pubs but feels like the middle of nowhere. This was our 2nd stay and it did not disappoint. The cottage and grounds are amazing, our dogs ran around all day long!
Stephen
Highly recommend this lovely barn in an amazing setting. If you are looking for peace, quiet, relaxing location that's very dog friendly you can't find a better holiday home. We have been 5 year in a row and planning our next week next year.

Had a fantastic two weeks at Jacks Barn, it's a gorgeous place and the gardens are amazing, so much space and privacy. Our cocker spaniel Meg loved just wandering wherever she wanted. Kath the owner is lovely and really helpful if you need anything. Before we left four tiny duckling were on the pond which was lovely to see and it's totally fenced s o safe for children and dogs. Thanks Kath for a fantastic stay
Suzanne
This is a beautiful cottage that is perfect! It was spotlessly clean, well maintained and very well equipped. We received a gorgeous welcome tray on arrival with local goods. Our 2 pups loved the outdoor space so much, they didn't want to come in! The duck pond is safely locked off but you can still see the ducks & we had a visit from a couple of b unnies. We picked up some local produce from the farm shop in Usk for a BBQ, followed by a hot tub then a relax indoors by the log burner! Heaven!
Janet
This was our 2nd stay & won't be our last. It is an idyllic little piece of heaven! The barn is cosy, compact & has everything you need for a week's stay. It is beautifully appointed, the beds are comfy, the hot tub is absolute bliss with glorious views. The huge garden is just perfect for dogs, completely secure for them to explore. Kath the owner is so friendly & helpful but not at all intrusive. This place is so blissfully quiet, we only left to go to the supermarket! Absolute perfection!
Carly
Amazing place - perfect for if you have a dog; garden is huge and fully secure with the added bonus of fenced-off duck pond. Located down a small lane but not isolated; pub less than 5 minute walk away with great food (and also dog friendly). Hot tub was very welcome albeit the run to it was a little bracing in the chillier air. Cottage itself was well thought out and decorated and the woodburner made the atmosphere perfect.
Julie
Wow, stunning location! We loved our relaxing stay here, it rained all week but that didn't matter as we enjoyed using the hot tub & the wood burner so were lovely & cosy. The enclosed garden was perfect for our two labradors who were able to potter about as much as they liked. The kitchen was well kitted out. It was a good location for walks along the canal to Goytre wharf and the Horseshoe Inn, where the food was excellent, need to book though. We will definitely come back.
Alice
One of the most accurately described holiday cottages. Truly not overlooked. Huge garden completely secure as long as your dogs not really little. We are already looking at booking again for next year!
Angela
We have just celebrated our 2nd consecutive New Year at Jacks Barn and it was just as lovely as we remembered. Despite the inclement weather we were warm and cosy. Our dogs once again loved the huge garden. The Barn provides everything you could need and the welcome cake, biscuits and milk with fresh flowers on the table was appreciated. Jacks Barn is in a great location for exploring the Brecons and there are lovely canal walks a short walk from the Barn. Highly recommended, we will be back!
Jody
Amazing time had at Jacks Barn. The barn was immaculate, clean and extremely cosy. Kath thought of all the small details including making sure the kettle was ready to make a cuppa upon arrival. It was great knowing the dogs were completely safe and secure with plenty of playing and zoomies around the huge grounds, whilst I could relax in the hot tu b looking out to the beautiful views. Highly recommend booking this gorgeous barn.
Kimberley
We loved Jacks Barn and highly recommending it. The Barn is so cosy, it had everything we needed for a romantic weekend but would equally suit a small family for a week or more. Since we were lucky enough to have snow while we were there, sitting in the hot tub looking out across the white fields and hills was just perfect! We walked along the cana l - beautiful, we walked to the local pub, great food and great service. We drove in to Abergavenny, yet another wonderful treat. Hope to return soon.
Fleur
Our fourth stay, and a fantastic place to stay. Feels isolated but still close to amenities, the added additions of a hot tub and log burner are a lovely touch and certainly welcome during a winter stay. We love this place, and would certainly go back again and again, thank you Kath.
Janet
WOW, what a perfect place. Jack's Barn is breathtakingly gorgeous with stunning views. Compact, cosy, comfortable with everything you need. The grounds are fabulous. Huge & totally secure so the dogs had the best time running around and we could laze in the hot tub knowing they were safe. Jack's Barn is such a relaxing, peaceful place we only left it for one walk and a trip to the supermarket. Kath the owner is so friendly and helpful. We will definitely book again next year. Good for the soul!
Monica
This place is incredibly tranquil; beautiful cottage, perfect grounds. We loved it, the dogs loved it.
Richard
Fabulous barn conversion. Compact but brilliant use of the space available so it doesn't feel cramped. Well equipped. Warm and cosy. Log burner was great. Lots of properly fenced area for our dog to enjoy Hot tub was lovely. Ideally located with local canal walks and easy to reach mountain walks. Local pub (Horseshoe Inn) gives friendly service and serves top quality food. Private setting is an almost unique selling point for a hot tub cottage. Mattress wasn't the best and did affect sleep.
Deborah
We had a lovely short break stay at Jacks Barn. The barn was beautiful and the views were stunning. The hot tub was wonderful and a fabulous place to relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside. The location was so peaceful and totally private with great canal side dog walks virtually on your door step! The Horseshoe Inn (dog friendly) was only a s hort walk away and we had a delicious lunch there. Would certainly recommend a stay at Jacks Barn.
Tracie
The most beautiful location. A perfect relaxing holiday.
Sally
Our second yeat at Jacks Barn, we love the area with the local dog friendly pub just up the road & walks along the canal with other sites nearby if day trips are wanted. The large safely enclosed area is a big positive for us as we can let our 2 dogs run knowing they cannot get out. We had one issue whilst there which Kath was quick to respond & wa s at the cottage within an hour. Will be back for another visit!
Annabel
Jack's Barn was absolutely wonderful - relaxing, idyllic but fully equipped with everything you need for a perfect staycation. Our dog absolutely loved exploring all of the land, and we could relax knowing she was safe as it is fully enclosed and she couldn't get to the ducks or the livestock in the surrounding fields.
Claire
Jacks Barn is beautiful, perfectly located. The grounds are stunning, our dog loved them and the morning ritual of feeding the ducks. There are walks from the cottage without needing to rely on the car so much and a pub at the end of the lane. We had a delicious meal at The Chainbridge Inn only a short drive away. Lovely welcome pack on arrival whi ch was much appreciated after the long drive down. The cottage really is a credit to the owner, this was our first visit and wont be our last.
Sarah
We have just had the most wonderful holiday at Jacks Barn. A beautiful and cosy cottage in a beautiful location. So peaceful, gorgeous views and a fabulous, fully secure garden for the dog to run around in. We loved it so much that weve booked again for next year. There are excellent walks on the doorstep and lovely pubs, both serving food, within walking distance. Cant wait to return!
Debbie
Beautiful cottage in a perfect setting. The dog loves the freedom of the large grounds. Very well equipped, crisp linen and fresh towels also provided. Fresh milk and Welsh cakes are a nice touch after a long journey. Take time to star gaze which is amazing due to there being no light pollution. Hot tub which just melts any stress away.
Kim
Thank you so much, it was a great break away. Peaceful and relaxing. The dogs had a great time running around the fields. Would definitely look at returning. Thank you again!!
Cheryl
Jack's Barn is a balm for the soul! A truly spectacular property with breathtaking views from every angle. The grounds & surrounding fields make you feel a world away from the rat race of life & really give you time to relax & breathe. Our 2 boys & dog enjoyed the grounds immensely. You really would be hard pushed to find anywhere more private & se cure. Kath was a delight to communicate with - she felt like a friend from the word go. We would give this beautiful haven 10 stars if we could.
