About Horseshoe Cottage

This beautifully appointed detached barn conversion is located in the grounds of the owner's own 16th century home, complete with their herd of alpacas and surrounded by lovely countryside. It rests on the outskirts of the picturesque hamlet of Llangian, less than two miles from the seaside village of Abersoch with its wonderful sandy beaches.

This stunning property is perfect for friends and family holidays and is the ideal base for exploring the area. Horseshoe Cottage is finished to a high standard throughout with many fine quality features including light oak woodwork, ledge and brace doors and engineered oak flooring.

The sense of space is immediately apparent when you enter the beautiful open-plan living accommodation with double height ceiling and stylish lighting. Sit and relax and watch your favourite family movie and on those chillier evenings the warming woodburner is a great addition.

The kitchen area is well-equipped and has granite worktops and an island unit, the chef in the family will just love it! And the dining area provides a comfortable and relaxed informal setting to enjoy a family meal.

The cottage has five bedrooms, two benefit from en-suite facilities, whilst the remaining three are serviced by a master bathroom and a shower room. If that’s not enough, outside is a lovely lawned garden area with lovely countryside scenery and a large decked area provides seating where you can sit and enjoy a drink and dine alfresco, and for the ultimate indulgence the hot tub is the perfect place to relax and unwind, or perhaps stargaze into the unspoilt night sky, reminisce and re-live memories of the day's events.

And for something completely different the owners have a small herd of alpacas and will be happy to arrange some alpaca trekking for a separate charge during your stay, the children will love it! The hamlet of Llangian is nestled at the foot of a steep hill below Mynytho, about a mile from the beach at Porth Neigwl (Hell's Mouth).

Horseshoe Cottage Reviews

Lovely accommodation, 9 of us stayed as a family for a weekend in October. Owners were lovely gave us some animal food to feed the animals on the farm, and we requested to bring 3 dogs which they were fine with. lovely walk into Abersoch takes around half an hour. Hot tub was clean and always hot, will definitely be visiting again.
Gillian
Had a wonderful stay in the cottage. The beds were super comfy and everyone enjoyed the hot tub. The kids loved feeding the animals and stroking the horses. We made a lot of beautiful family memories.
Evelyn
Excellent location and beautiful surroundings. We had a fantastic time, the house was clean and plenty of room to facilitate 11 people. We would definitely book there again in the near future. Also it was great having the availability of the hot tub, especially with the surrounding country side and in a relaxing atmosphere.
This was a great cottage for a family get away! It was big enough for us all to have our own space & bathroom! Clean and the cottage came well equipped with everything you needed, including lovely big bath towels. The location was perfect a short 5min drive into Abersoch. Angie, the owner was very accommodating and her communication was fab, if I ever asked a question. She also allowed us to feed the alpacas on site, which my three year old was very happy about! Overall a fantastic stay with memories to treasure forever. Thanks to Angie and her family x
Lovely property, clean tidy and well equipped facilities for eleven people. Lovely outside area and hot tub was very relaxing. Easy access for Abersoch and surrounding areas. Everyone had an enjoyable stay thank you. Would definitely return.
Claire
Loved loved staying here for a family weekend the check out time of 9. 30am was tough but we managed. Really well equipped gorgeous cottage thank you
Debbie
This cottage is beautiful. Lovely open plan kitchen which was great for us with a large group of friends that hadn't seen each other in a while. I would definitely like to return here again. Thanks
Callum
Hi Your cottage is a lovely place in a nice location. It is an amazing cottage with an ace fire. I kept that thing going all weekend. Family times were good too which makes the break even better. Thank you for the stay see you next year. Cant wait to go again next year this is already booked.
Perfect holiday home from home for whole of the family, 3 generations stayed at property and it suited all. Bedrooms and bathrooms well appointed and plenty of storage for belongings, lounge and dining areas were very comfortable, never before been to holiday accommodation where there was so much kitchen equipment available , Fantastic when cooking for 10 people and all equipment in goodclean working order. Although it was beginning of November and there was a weather warning for high winds and rain, the property had log burner but we didn't need to light a fire as the central heating was more than enough to heat the property in fact we turned it down. The hot tub was devine, surrounding scenery beautiful, We also had 3 dogs, the garden area is well enclosed and large enough that they could have a run around. The children loved watching the owner Angie in the morning walking her ponies back into their fields . The family are planning when next all off at same time to book and re visit Horseshoe Cottage and Beautiful Abersoch Many thanks to owners Angie and Derek.
This cottage was excellent for our family. Very comfortable. Great location near a lovely village. We had a very good holiday there. The owners were very helpful and attentive and animals were an added bonus for the children.

Amazing cottage, loved the open plan as works really well for large gatherings. Great kitchen space with all amenities. Parking for 4 cars is perfect. Garden space with fencing for dogs great. Best of all a hot tub that we used every day. Location could not be better, quiet but not far from amenities and the beach. Fantastic for cycling to explore all the beautiful beaches etc. Thank you for an amazing holiday.
Very lucky to have fabulous weather for the whole week. Children and dogs enjoyed the garden and local beaches.Overall a great holiday in beautiful surroundings and accommodation.
Great property in perfect location. We loved our stay.

We stayed at horseshoe cottage for a 60th birthday. There were 10 of us and the space was more than ample for us all. Very clean and there was lots of kitchen equipment. Plenty of towels, bath mats and hand towels. Hot tub was lovely and hot and was under a pergola which was necessary as the weather was not great whilst we were there. There was tea, coffee, and washing up liquid which is a nice touch if you forget and handwash in all bathrooms. Bedrooms were a good size. Parking for 4 cars. 4 bathrooms which was great for a big group. A large table in kitchen for everyone to sit round for meals. We were provided with a cot and high chair for my Niece which were both in good condition. And also a baby gate on the upstairs bedroom. The kids loved the garden and hot tub and there were lots of board games provided. Tv had netflix and YouTube and Internet connection was fast. The kids were never bored. The owners were very helpful and friendly. They allowed the kids to feed the ponies and alpacas at feeding time. You are only 1 mile away from abersoch and there are lots of restaurants and a spar supermarket which stocks most things you would need. Abersoch is beautiful and we would love to return in the summer to appreciate it fully in the nice weather and would certainly stay in horseshoe cottage again. Thankyou for a lovely stay
Sandra
We had a great time, cottage was lovely and very clean

Fabulous, wouldnt change a thing! We had such a ball and will be back for sure. Thank you!
Nicola
Still cannot believe the beauty of this place. First time in years my whole family have been under one roof for a weekend away. Small touches like a Christmas tree and wreath went along way. All enjoyed the hot tub even in December, who then came in to the log fire. An absolute stunning home. My brother has already booked for us to go again November time next year.
Good stay for 7 people. Note if you are staying to bring extra toilet roll though as was given 4 not full rolls for 7 women for the whole weekend
Stuart
Fantastic week at a brilliant cottage! Highly recommend
Sylvia
Lovely comfortable cottage in beautiful location. Reasonably convenient for beaches, about 5 minutes into abersoch centre by car. Owner of cottage friendly and quick to attend to minor issues. Would not hesitate tobook again.
Everything was good, apart from the mattresses, definitely an upgrade needed. One of the shower taps downstairs didn't work properly. They were the only issues we had, plenty of outdoor space, lovely jacuzzi.
Alison
The owner Angie was lovely and quickly responded to our questions and queries. The cottage is set in a beautiful location with the beach and town only several minutes away in the car. The kids loved the nearby animals and large garden play area and we really enjoyed the hot tub with the stunning views. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience the joy of Abersoch.
Drahomira
Amazing place! Clean, comfortable, everything we needed for our family holiday, friendly and helpful owners, great base for exploring. Thoroughly recommended.

This cottage is in a lovely part of Wales with walks to numerous beaches. The local pub, the Sun gave us a warm welcome with an open fire at the end of a 4 mile circular walk to Helsmouth a very impressive vista. There are a variety of places for days out but Port Meirion was our favourite. Having been to a few Sykes cottages, while this one was well equipped and the owners really accommodating, being a little older, we came home with back ache as the mattresses were not up to Sykes normal standards. The owners kindly allowed our granddaughter to go and see their beautiful Shetland ponies, which she really enjoyed. The garden is fully enclosed for dogs which was great but the fence was quite low for our Staffie who likes to go on adventures however he loved running and playing in the garden. The hot tub was well used and well maintained. All in all an excellent place to chill together as a family.
We had a fantastic stay at the cottage as a family would definitely recommend to anyone looking a break away. The facilities are amazing, the rural location is scenic and ideal and we met the hosts on arrival who were very welcoming and helpful.
Lovely relaxing Christmas at Horseshoe Cottage This cottage was perfect for our family Xmas break. It had everything we needed for our stay and the hot tub was a bonus. Some lovely walks, with Abersoch and Hells Mouth only 5 minutes away by car.

The property owners were fantastic and welcoming, abersoch is stunning.
What an amazing property! They had thought of every little detail in the kitchen it was equipped with everything you needed and more. The accommodation was clean and modern. It was around a 40 minute walk along the country lanes into Abersoch. The outside space was lovely with fantastic views of the countryside and the gorgeous ponies and alpacas in the field at the bottom of the garden! The owners were extremely helpful with any questions. Will definitely look to return!

Horseshoe Cottage was comfortable. Well presented and well positioned to visit the lovely area. The Landlord, Derek Howarth, was attentive and resolved minor issues immediately. With good weather we had an enjoyable holiday and in that sense our expectations were met. The holiday was booked in 2019 for May 2020. Because of Covid issues we initially wanted to cancel the booking but could find no way of contacting Sykes. Eventually contact was made with us by Sykes who offered a transfer to 2021. When this was agreed, rather than transferring the deposit, Sykes then took the total balance from our account without our agreement. Our complaints on this were either ignored or met with a blank wall. Several emails and letters were sent even to the Managing Director, all without response. We would happily use Horseshoe Cottage again, We will never use Sykes.
Had a great weekend celebrating our 40th anniversary with the family at Horseshoe cottage. Close to hells mouth beach and Abersoch. Our grandchildren got to feed the resident alpacas Definitely visit the small village shop, sells basics very friendly owner. Definitely recommend
Yvonne
Horseshoe Cottage is delightful! The Cottage was immaculate, and the owners could not have been more helpful. The whole site had a wonderful warm and friendly atmosphere.
Fantastic cottage, great facilities, something for everyone, hot tub was a ... Fantastic cottage, great facilities, something for everyone, hot tub was a bonus, good walks, easy access to the beach and the town of Abersoch by car
Lovely cottage. Really tidy and well kept. Big open kitchen area great for hanging out with family & freinds with perfect access to the garden and hot tub area. The beds were not the comfiest abit to firm not many of us slept well as floor boards and doors creeked in the night. The little touches like the candles and reed diffusers were empty and left there when we arrived. Lovely and quiet in surrounding area. But overall, lovely cottage with hot tub would highly recommend. Owners were very attentive and freindly
Beautiful Cottage in a great location. Only 5 mins to Abersoch by car. Dropped lucky with the weather too had sunshine all weekend. On the beach and in the sea with the Grandkids and they loved the Hot tub back at the Cottage. The owners were very friendly and even let the grandkids feed the Alpacas that they keep on the farm . Perfect Weekend
Darren
Horseshoe Cottage is a lovely property and accommodated our large group perfectly. We went in August but Id imagine it would be just as idyllic in Winter with the wood burner!!
Claire
We arrived at un certain times, my husband had just lost his job due to covid 19, but we were here to celebrate my mums 70th. We made the most of it, the surroundings were idilic and it was nice to get away and forget about our worries for a few days. We all enjoyed being together, the piece and quiet and nice walks. The cottage owners were very friendly and always around if we needed them. We would definitely return to this beautiful cottage.
Ian Thomas
What a beautiful and peaceful place to stay where the hosts are very nice and nothing is any trouble.
