Whether you are seeking a solo trip or looking for a romantic getaway for two, this shepherd's hut is a wonderful space in a perfect location to explore North Wales.

The lovely abode enjoys a secluded spot, sitting in the furthest point of the Nantcol valley and facing the Ardudwy Way, so guests can enjoy a lack of traffic and switch off from the busyness of everyday life. The farm that the hut rests on also boasts a historic connection, as Colnel John was brought up here, the brother-in-law to Cromwell; you can find out even more about this in the kindly provided welcome file.

Take three steps up into the hut, where a warm and welcoming studio-style living space greets you; rustic features such as oak panels, beams and cottage-style furnishings make for a quaint setting to unwind after the day's adventures. Use the kitchen area to rustle up simple, easy meals, before starting the woodburning stove and settling into the seating area to rest tired feet; why not plug your tablet into the USB socket and enjoy your favourite on-demand show?

The double bed is a snug space to crawl under the sheets and restore, ready for another day by the coast or in the mountains. Moelfre - Shepherds Hut has the bonus of underfloor heating, perfect for those colder months and making the morning walk to the shower room an easy one.

Don't forget to drape your towel on the heated towel rail for extra comfort after you've rinsed off in the walk-in shower. Make the most of your beautiful surroundings in the outdoor area at the front of the hut, where you can dine alfresco at the picnic bench, enjoy a hot cup of coffee from the Lavazza machine on the outdoor seating whilst the sun rises, or climb into the log fired hot tub for an evening of stargazing.

Moelfre - Shepherds Hut Reviews

A beautiful part of Wales, very peaceful. The shepherd's hut had everything that we needed. The little extras were a nice touch too x
It is the most magical place we have been too. We loved every single moment. Thank you
Joshua
The stay was amazing. The welcome pack was a great personal touch. A peaceful and beautiful location with picturesque views. Even the rain didn't stop us from using the hot tub or going on walks around the area. Thank you!
Steven
What a brilliant shepherd's hut and location. The hut is kitted out with everything you are likely to need during your stay, and it is ultra cosy . The location is pretty remote but with an array of footpaths and routes literally on the doorstep. A walkers dream, and some quite challenging routes. I couldn't fault anything about hut . And the location is perfect if you want get away from everything. Having said that Harlech, Barmouth and Llandanwg with their fabulous beach are just a few miles away. 1010
What a wonderful week, the hut was super cosy and had everything we needed. Stunning scenery & so much to do.
Truly beautiful surroundings, had a fantastic couple of nights. Hot tub , in the evening whilst the rain is cooling your face . We will be booking again, Thank you.
Everything was great, everything we needed was in the hut and the instructions for getting there were easy and clear. The views were fantastic and we really enjoyed the visit
We stayed for two nights. Loved the place. Our Shepherd Hut was very cosy and clean. It is far from any noise and perfect for a relaxing holiday. The hot tub was perfect after long walks. The scenery is beautiful. The owners are very friendly and happy to help. Overall a great experience and looking forward to going again.
We really loved Moelfre Shepherd's hut. A lot of care has been taken with the The decor and little touches, making it cosy and comfortable. The views are stunning and the walking was so beautiful. The location is quite remote and the walking was truly wild walking with quite a lot of bogs if you prefer an easy walk! The wood burning hottub was fun but you do need time and patience to use it. Worth it though! We caught the night sky at about 3pm and it was totally breathtaking! Worth staying for that alone! Eleri was very welcoming and helpful and shared alot of information about the history of the farm and the best walks. We are definitely hoping to return.
Andrew
Beautiful property and location. Some tweaks needed to make it live up to the price e.g. clear instructions about rubbish, provision of consumables.
Had a fantastic 3 night stay, everything we needed was there, the hot tub was fantastic with the hills as the backdrop. Top hosts and would return, already recommended to friends
Denise
The shepherds hut is set in the most stunning location with 360 degree beautiful views. Eleri owner was extremely hospitable and happy to point out local walks and offer any advice regarding the surrounding areas. The hut itself was beautiful inside and out and contained everything and more required for our stay. We hope to return soon
Rebecca
We had such an amazing stay at Moelfre, the hut was so well equipped and clean, the hot tub was amazing and Eleri was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. We had some beautiful walks around the area and the local town of Harlech was lovely. We would definitely come again, and we were so lucky with the weather!
Dominique
We had the most amazing stay! I will recommend Moelfre Shepards to all my friends and family! The hut was really cozy, all the amenities were faultless and the hosts were really friendly and gave us some amazing recommendations.
The hut was beautifully decorated, clean and had everything we could need. The location was stunning and had so many walks right on the doorstep. The hosts were lovely and very helpful.
This was our second time staying in this hut and we loved it just as much as the first time! ! The weather was a bit wetter this time but its still lovely to listen to the rain and smoke some bacon in the dry patches D We will 100 be back again next year, our favourite holiday destination!
I had a lovely stay here and experienced all weather conditions which was awesome. From sunshine to snow, rain and high winds the cabin was toasty warm and just what I needed for a stay. Highly recommend for a getaway, lots to do around with walks, golf, pubs, castles, beach, mountains and great roads to cruise no matter the weather.
A couple of times the water was not working but was rectified very quickly.
My partner and I had an amazing time in this cabine located in between the mountains. It really felt like we were the last people on earth. Will definitively come agin!
Nadine
Dear Gwynday & Eleri We can't thank you enough! You made our Mini Moon extra special, we really loved the card & prosecco such a lovely gesture in addition to the Merlot and Welsh cakes yummy! What lovely people you are, we are just sad that we didn't get to meet you before we left. No fault but our own as we had to get going earlier than expected. The shepherd's hut was super comfortable and cosy and we loved every second and the hot tub was so relaxing and with such a gorgeous view of the surrounding hills. The Victoria Inn was a fab recommendation, the food was fantastic. We were lucky to get a reservation and went back the next day we loved it so much. We were sorry to have to leave and return to our reality but we would love to come back next year. We recommend you come stay at one of the shepherd's Huts, if you want to relax, go walking, visit the near by Harlech Castle. The beach, there are plenty of places to see it worth it or just don't leave the Hut at all. Thanks again Mr & Mrs Franklin

We had a perfect week! Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! So cosy. Views were amazing and it was very peaceful. Had a lovley warm welcome from owner. Definitely recommend and definitely would go again!
Our stay at Moelfre was really special the location is magical, the shepherds hut is perfect, and its clear that Eleri and Gwyndaf have put their hearts into making an amazing experience for people who stay with them. Eleri made us feel so welcome, getting the fire for the hot tub going for us, and giving us loads of great tips for things to do. The shepherds hut is a wonderful place to stay, roomy enough for two tall people with clever storage and everything you need. We miss it already and well definitely be back!
Robert
What a fantastic place, wonderful views, wonderful shepards hut and a wonderful host. We will definitely be returning. Eleri our host met us on arrival and made us feel so welcome. The location is remote and as mentioned in a previous review it would be advisable to bring your shopping with you. All in all a fantastic place to relax, recharge and enjoy.
We had an absolutely wonderful week staying at Moelfre. The owners were friendly and very welcoming. Including giving us a tour of our stay and providing us with many day activities and recommendations for the area. The facilities were very clean and our stay was very comfortable and cozy. Although the weather wasnt great at the start of our week, there is plenty to do in the area or even having a day in the hut and being in the hot tub in the rain was a laugh. The views were beautiful and we would definitely come back and explore the area some more.
Really lovely location and scenery, property was spotless and in very good condition. Owners were super helpful and friendly

My partner and I went for a weekend break and this was perfect! Literally in the middle of nowhere with beautiful 360 views. The only thing I would advise is that you need to bring food with you to cook there. Otherwise you will need to drive for food. Very romantic and sitting outside with a fire was our top highlight. Also great for walking routes with public footpaths nearly at door step. The quality of the hut is high with everything you could need. Thanks for a great time
William
We had an amazing stay at the Shepherds Hut. Waking up to the amazing views was perfect. Eleri and Gwyndaf we cant thank you enough. The Hut itself has everything you could need, and the way it has been decorateddesigned made it feel very cosy like home from home. Such an amazing place!
Chelsea
Excellent location, amazing hot tub and cute hut that has all you need for a long weekend away!
Michael
Fantastic property in a fantastic setting. The space inside the hut has been designed efficiently to allow 2 adults to live comfortably, it is protected and private, views are wonderful across the valley and the hot tub is a special extra. The walking in the area around the hut is ideal for those who like hiking. Highly recommended.
Kamila
We had the best time at the Moelfre hut. Stunning views! After all day of walking we enjoyed the hot tub, and the hut was always so warm, heating flooring was such a luxury. We were really lucky with beautiful weather! Overall we had magical time and would 100 recommend for everyone!
My partner and I have stayed in cabinshuts all over the UK. Peak, Lake District. Cornwall but this one blows them all out of the water. Location is amazing, the hut is done to a high high standard. The hot tub works an absolute treat, heated up fully within 2 hours. Plenty of privacy, would recommend and will be 100 staying again ourselves. Amazing stay with amazing hosts. Thank you
Me and my partner absolutely loved our stay, it is such an amazing hut with gorgeous views, we can't wait to come back again. . we've already booked a week next year!! Eleri was their to welcome us on arrival and showed me how to set the hot tub up, I didn't quite manage to heat it up on the first night but every other night the tub was HOT, we were there for 4 nights and used the hot tub around 67 times morning and evening because it was such an amazing view how could we not! and we still had a couple logs left so plenty of wood for the firetub! Eleri really went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and perfect as she could, can't thank her enough for the help she gave us! There is so much to do and so many walks we only managed to scratch the surface and cannot wait to be back to discover more beautiful walks and some tasty food at the inn definitely advise prebooking a table at the Victoria Inn as it's very popular The one thing I've got to mention is that there is so much more in the hut than I thought, I ended up packing a fry pan and kitchen bits and bobs as I wasn't sure what would be there when I arrived, but my oh my this hut had everything! From fry pans to potato peelers, absolutely everything I was very impressed, I now know my bags will be quite a bit lighter next time There's loads of storage under the bed too for suitcases and clothes, a drying rack in the cupboard you can hang on the back of a door for drying your clothes after hiking! Oh and the heated towel rack in the bathroom was a god send for keeping those towels toasty and dry, works a treat on walking socks too Cannot wait to come back and cannot recommend highly enough!!
We had an absolutely amazing three nights in the Moelfre Shepherds Hut! Hot tub wow! View wow! Hut and its furnishings finished to such a high standard! Little touches that made it even more special perfect! Helpfulness of the host just lovely people! Would not hesitate to go back. I did doubt how good the WiFi in the middle of nowhere would be but absolutely faultless was able to watch Netflix and FaceTime! Highly recommended xx
William
What an amazing little hut. We stayed for 3 nights and had such a relaxing time. The hut itself is equipped to a really high standard, with everything you need for your stay. The hot tub was incredible. We had enough wood for a hot and I mean HOT soak every night we were there as well as lighting the fire in the hut one of the nights. It took about 2 hours to warm up on the first night but then every other night only took about an hour to get to temperature. Eleri was on hand to light the fire for us the first night and show us how to get the most bang for our buck. The hot tub is definitely not a gimmick and was the highlight of our stay. The location is stunning, with incredible views from the bed and hot tub, great walks up to the rhinnogs, amazing food at the Victoria in the village and easy access to the rest of Snowdonia. Eleri was a great help and we can't wait to come back and book both huts so we can bring our friends. Thank you for a glorious stay.
I stayed at the property for 3 nights, it was an absolute amazing place to stay! The owners where very friendly and we loved every minute. We was not blessed with the best weather but the walks, place and hot tub, made up for the best weather. The place was absolutely perfect has everything we needed for our 3 night get away. There was nothing we could change! We will 100 be coming back to the property and would recommend to anyone.
Justin
Brilliant location, superb facilities, spotlessly clean. The owners were so welcoming and in hand if needed.
Moelfre is set against a stunning backdrop of the Rhinogydds at the end of a secluded valley. The photos really dont do justice to how beautiful the scenery is, and even in stormy, wet February we were still able to sit outside in the wood fired hot tub every night amazing! The quality of the fixtures and fittings in the Shepherds Hut are exceptional, and the attention to detail in its layout and contents is really well thought out. The hut has everything you need to keep you toasty such as underfloor heating great for breathing red wine! and a wood burning stove to dry your walking gear. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils and appliances so you never have to leave the valley, though there are great recommendations in the information pack too. We felt very welcomed by the owners and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
After a long drive wed forgot to stop at a shop for basic nessecaties but the owner kindly went above and beyond and provided us with milk, bread and eggs! The hut is just gorgeous. So homely and so warm. The location is beautiful. We would definitely come back again. Thank you so much. We loved it. Gemma & Joss
Rebecca
Amazing shepherds hut, looking forward to visiting again. I cannot think of anything that would have made our stay better.
