Smugglers Rest Reviews

Andrew
The first time we have never had a welcome pack on arrival. Front door as 3 steps up and as we had 2 over eighties in our party so could have done with a handrail. Outside decking is very slippery when wet. There are signs up and that unfortunately is the nature of decking which was a shame as we couldn't really use outside Also starting to rot in places and needs a coat of varnish. Only 1 TV in house could have done with more as the 1 in games room was only set up for internet TV which we didn't have. Safety the dog stair gate is fitted on the wrong stair post and unless you open it into the upstairs room which is in the way the gate actually blocks the stairs handrail again not good for older or younger people. Kitchen was lacking teapot only a large teapot with no lid was on display no potato peeler no plastic measuring jugs and knives could do with a sharpen. A clock on the wall would have been nice. Heating is individual electric heaters which is easy to control but upstairs toilet and downstairs bathroom did not have any heating at all which may be a problem in the heart of winter. Spa jets do not work in bath and shower door doesn't work very smoothly as wheels are seized. On a positive note this house is very deceiving from the outside as it is very spacious with lots of seating. The beds are very comfortable. The back 2 bedrooms could do with curtains fitting as the blinds do not keep out the daylight. The balconies and views are great. Pool table and hot tub was great. We arrived earlier than planned and had keys 1 hour early. The Jolly Sailor pub at the end of the road was great and food excellent if you have a dog you have to eat in the bar not really a problem. Over all we had a enjoyable holiday. This review as been completed by all the party and feel this is a fair reflection as it as been classed as nearly 5 stars
Really enjoyed the cottage. In a great location to explore Pembrokeshire. Highly recommend The Ferry Inn on the opposite side of cleddau bridge. Shellfish meal was absolutely outstanding. Very friendly area. I did a spot of fishing over at Hobbd Point too, Caught a Pollack. Great Holiday
Rachel
Lovely holiday accommodation Dog friendly with enclosed garden ,laminate flooring in kitchen and dining area ,dog gate on stairs to prevent dogs going near bedrooms. Close to small beach perfect for a quick dog walk Beautiful views ,lovely outdoor seating area Well stocked kitchen with everything you could possibly need. Jolly sailor pub at the end of the road provide lovely home cooked meals Beds and settees all nice and comfortable Would definitely recommend
We enjoyed our stay at this property and we were impressed with the Pembrokeshire beaches and walks, even though we didnt have the best weather! There was plenty of room for 7 and the family enjoyed the hot tub and games room. The view from the property is great, it is peaceful and relaxing to sit and watch the boats sail by. The welcome pack was appreciated, along with the basic provision of oil, salt and pepper, tea etc. Thanks for a great week.
Christine
We had a lovely stay in this well appointed property. The views were beautiful, space for children and dog. The hot tub was very welcome at the end of a long day and cleaned and refreshed mid week. Lots of space inside. It would have been nice to have access to a tumble dryer as well as washing machine travelling with children usually means some midweek washing and if the weather is wet drying is a problem. Little touches like ice in the freezer and welcoming bubbly and Welsh cakes were great. Thank you. Would certainly recommend you and The Jolly Sailor within a short walk for very generous and tasty food
Family of 7 and 2 dogs stayed at the 'Smugglers Rest' for a week. Adequate space, well maintained, stunning views. Hot tub was enjoyable bonus. No overlooking which was an added bonus. The owner very pleasent and allowed us to enter early on arrival. Very quiet area and beautiful setting. Outstanding pubrestaurant only a 5 minute walk away.
We had a great time at your cottage, handy place to go around to lots of places. Thank you

We had a great time at your cottage, handy place to go around to lots of places. Thank you
We had a lovely stay, arrived to a nice welcome pack. The property was spotless, if anything the pictures don't do it justice. Hot tub and pool room were brilliant. The garden was extremely dog friendly as one of our dogs loves to try to escape. We would definitely recommend and hope to return again in the future. Thanks
Another fantastic stay at Smugglers Rest! The cottage has everything you could want and more a real home from home!! We will no doubt return in the future thank you!
Malcolm
The file photos of Smugglers rest dont do it justice ! , upon arrival we all said wow , upon entering , the rooms and cleanliness were spot on , then we saw the views from the upstairs and decking AMAZING. Beds so comfy great nights sleep, hot tub and pool table a very big hit with the kids and adults. Overall an awesome place to holiday.
Cottage was absolutely perfect for our needs of 3 couples lots of outdoor entertaining space with amazing panaramic views, great indoor space for chilling out and good bedroom sizes to accommodate us all. Cottage was clean and tidy and had all the essentials we needed. Pool room, seating area on decking and hot tub were real assets and sets it apart from lots of other properties we'd been to before. Previous reviews about lack of maintenance were unfounded as we found it to be immaculate and wonderfully looked after so no concerns from us there. All in all, an amazing cottage with stunning views. Thank you!
Robert
This is a lovely property in a lovely location, on the whole it,s maintained well ,there are a few things that need to be addressed , firstly the decking above games room needs attention, the power points in all bedrooms were unusable as furniture covered them, not enough towels large and small per person as drying them was a problem as we were here early in year, no tumble drier, other than that we had a really lovely time at smugglers rest.
Such a lovely property. Great location. The views are amazing from all the windows and the brilliant decking. Hot tub fabulous with a very useful changing room with fridge. Spotlessly clean. Very responsive owners.
Perfect setting, lovely house. Super hot tub. Great games room. Plenty outdoor seating. Kitchen has everything you need. Bedrooms all lovely size. Bathrooms very good. A great pub Jolly Sailor a short walk away. This house allowed us to have a fantastic 7 night holiday.
We had a wonderful stay. 2 families, 4 adults, 3 kids ,2 dogs. Something for everyone. The house is beautifully situated with stunning views. All enclosed so dogs could roam safely. Kitchen was well stocked ,everything was spotless . We will definitely return
We had a lovely time for New Year at Smugglers Rest every detail had been thought of and was appreciated . Warm cosy and something for everyone . Will definitely book again !! !
What a beautiful holiday home in a fantastic location. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
A lovely property with lovely space and lay out. We really enjoyed our stay in this unique place. It was expensive but it was worth it. The view was stunning and we were lucky enough to have decent weather too. Only slight problem was the dishwasher which didn't clean very well, but after cleaning out the tray and filter, it worked better. Many thanks Helle Kristensen
Joanna
Loved sitting on the deck with the views of the river. On colder evenings the sitting area was cosy and there was plenty of space for people to do their own thing.
Wow Smugglers Rest was exceptional. My family and I enjoyed every part of the stay and was sad to leave. Would definitely recommend and will hopefully return in the future!
Sandra
Lovely well equipped house in a stunning location. Beautiful views from the decking area , watching all the boats sail past. Hot tub and games room an added bonus. Only negative was garden not enclosed so dogs could wander into the road. Had a fabulous week and would definitely go again.
