Pentre Fach Reviews

Christina
We had the best time for our weekend stay. The barn was clean and tidy and very spacious. It was warm and cosy without any heating on and the log burner. They kitchen was fully stocked with crockery and cooking equipment. The welcome booklet was great and told us everything we needed to know. We will be booking to come stay again. Thankyou so much for our stay
Stephen
Property was lovely and location was perfect middle of nowhere!
Such an amazing stay here at Pentre! The owners were so welcoming and helpful. The hot tub was the perfect touch for the relaxing whilst taking in the amazing views. The place was spotless, with some added touches such as homemade Welsh cakes. They were lush! I have stayed places where hot water has been a trouble with a larger group however we did not encounter any trouble with that. We will most definitely stay again.
Danielle
Fantastic stay, everything we needed. The cottage was clean. Views amazing Thank you for a great stay. I will definitely be booking again
Robert
Absolutely beautiful in every way, a very well presented property within a perfect location. We will visit again.
Simply wonderful x
We had a lovely relaxing time at Pentre Fach, would highly recommend. Thankyou for letting us stay in your beautiful home, in a beautiful part of the world.

Hi, This is a feedback for the listing as opposed to the property. When I am on a holiday I do not expect to take the trash out. This is something that needs to be made clear before booking, not after we get to the property and find about the property rules. I had booked a hottub holiday before with sykes and lots of other hot tub holidays with others, but this is the first time I have found rules to take the trash out. I will most likely not be using this service again

The owners are lovely and the place was amazing. Thanks for a great stay in a beautiful part of the world.
Really, really clean. Wonderful welcoming owners. We loved the tour Gareth Not much to do in the area, but the gorgeous cottage more than makes up for it. Perfect for a relaxing break!!!!
A lovely relaxing stay at Pentre Fach. There are 2 other buildings in the valley so quite isolated. There's an interesting drive up over the hills to get to it including herding sheep along the way. Accommodation is just what we needed and a bonus with the hot tub. More storage for clothes would help in the kids twin room. The sofa's need a little updating too. An extra shower and toilet near the hot tub would have been just perfect. Everything you needed for the kitchen was included and it was lovely waking up to the sheep and cows in the morning although watch out for the flies. Many thanks for a great week away.
Julie and Gareth were amazing hosts! They made us feel so welcome with a welcome package and provided us with milk, tea, coffee, sugar and eggs, with amazing homemade Welsh cakes! The property was so comfy, clean and we were able to relax. The hot tub was fantastic! We will definitely be back and will recommend to everyone!
Daniel
The property was just what we were looking for, very clean, modern, quiet with beautiful scenery all around. The owners were fantastic, even showed us around their farm. We will most certainly be visiting again in the near future. Strongly recommend booking at visit to Lower Pentre.

We had the most perfect few days in our idyllic cottage with the lambs to keep us company. We took 3 x teenagers and although limited in activities family time is the best and we all would go back. A must to see is The Elan Valley stunning.

A thoroughly enjoyable week spent in the most cosiest holiday home. 360 views included the rolling hills, stunning skyline and of course the many sheep nursing their young. An absolute joy to be able to immerse ourselves in the tranquility of this beautiful part of Wales. Facilities are top notch, the lodge is modern and has everything you need. hosts are friendly and welcoming. Hot tub is just perfect and spotlessly clean. Cant wait to go back next April

We have had a fantastic time, very relaxing, beautiful view, very cosy cottage. Def going back again.
Amazing stay at a beautiful cottage! Would 100 recommend! Cottage was spotless and had everything you need. Not too far to drive out to little local pubs but you dont need to go anywhere with all the stunning scenery!
Michael
Incredible place in incredible location. The 6 of us had a great time, spending 80 of it in the hot tub. The property was lovely and with the long road in, very secluded. Wouldn't drive there with a sports car, but taking it slow in a saloon is fine. Hosts gave us all the info we needed and at the same time let us enjoy or holiday in peace. Great time all round, would definitely recommend
Pentre Fach was definitely the best choice we made when choosing a lodge to stay in, a great price as well and also a hot tub included which just makes it perfect. Loved every bit of we spent there, got welcomed with a gift of eggs, milk and welsh cakes which was very nice of the owners. Overall a very lovely location to stay with your family and would definitely recommend this to everyone. Will be coming back for sure!
Samantha
Had an amazing stay in Pentre Fach! Its such a peaceful and beautiful place, and wellmaintained by the owners. Would definitely recommend.
Dominic
Really nice location and lovely property, owners are very kind and happy to help. Would love to come back for another stay. Thanks
Set in the depth of beautiful Welsh countryside, Pentre Fach is a lovely converted barn with excellent facilities and home comforts, and my family were especially delighted to be welcomed by homemade Welch cakes. Waking up to views and sounds of the farm, cattle and sheep was restful and many nights were spent sitting under the stars relaxing in the hot tub. The ownersfarmers, Gareth and Julie, made every effort to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Should there be any issues, Gareth and Julie live nearby and are kind and supportive. For us, we were unable to operate the TV and Gareth promptly arranged a visit to assist us. For us, the only negative point was when I had difficulties paying for the holiday online, and so telephoned Sykes, they then increased the cost. We found this rather upsetting. Despite this Gareth and Julie made sure we had a lovely, restful stay and we would highly recommend Pentre Fach.

A fab holiday cottage with everything you could need. Perfect place to relax with amazing views!
The pictures of this place do not do it justice! You really are in the middle of nowhere surrounded by beautiful views. The property was a lot larger than expected and had all the facilities you could ever no , I looked at reviews before and the ones about the wifi not being great are a lot of rubbish , we streamed Netflix the entire time and the place was spotless. The owners of the property very much leave you be from start to finish and checked in once with us to make Sure everything was ok which it was very nice and friendly people and we will defiantly be staying there again! The hot tub was amazing in the evening and the owners left us instructions on how everything worked ! Beautiful place and could not recommend it more
Michael
The cottage was exactly what you wanted, it looked beautiful and it was beautiful, the warmth as you walker through the door, the wonderful views was a joy to behold. Fabulous Fabulous vacation
Booking was quick and easy. Correspondence with relevant information was forthcoming from both Sykes and the owners of the cottage. The cottage itself is beautiful and is set in the most amazing surroundings. It is very well presented and the owners have literally thought of everything. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and the hot tub a wonderful added bonus. There is plenty of wood for the log burner and we were surprised to learn that this would be replenished free of charge if required. As a family we needed some time to regroup and recharge and we were able to do this perfectly here. We had a lovely relaxing break in the peace and quiet amongst the sheep, squirrels, hares and birds and not to mention the views which are absoloutely spectacular. The hosts are so friendly and helpful and nothing seems to much trouble. The only problem was we didnt want to leave!! Would highly recommend this property and we most certainly want to come back!
The hosts Julie and Gareth were incredibly welcoming, the cottage itself was lovely, clean, open and refreshing. The hot tub was a bonus which was always kept to a warm 40 degrees and chemical was put in every morning. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners at all, they also invited us to their farm to see their cows, sheep and pony! My kids loved it and had hugs with a lamb. We will be going back, highly reccomended.
Such wonderful accommodation accompanied by the best hosts. We stayed in the amazing PentreFach converted barn no words do it justice. From the surroundings and the cosy warm vibes of the lodge it is the best place to unwind, catch up and explore the fields mountains of mid Wales. The lodge has great BBQ facilities and a wonderful hot tub to unwind in. I dont think theres anything to be disappointed about its everything you see in photos and more with an added personalised tour of a working farm should you wish. Thank you for a great stay, highly recommended.
We have just returned from a very relaxing 4 days at Pentre Fach, the cottage was spotlessly clean and so well appointed, everything you could possibly need, a real home from home. Everything from the welcome pack, to the board games and the free view. Julie and Gareth had great communication and it was lovely to meet them both and see them as they tended to the farm. The hot tub was a highlight for our family, as was the excellent wifi always essential for kids!! The location was so beautiful, the only noise was from the new lambs that popped by to say hello. Our intention was to explore the area, but we felt so relaxed and at home we didnt feel the need to venture too far...maybe next time. After a year of looking at the same four walls this was the perfect break for our family, so thank you.
The owners went out of their way to make it a comfortable stay
Stephen
Fabulous place. Idyllic. Amazing location. Spotless. Watch shooting stars from hot tub! Cant rate highly enough. This is a detached private property with lots parking right outside front door. Big kitchen. Fab log burner. Tastefully well equipped. The owners must really be proud of the quality of accommodation. Visit local beauty spots like Elan valley. Hope to return!
Anthony
Really enjoyed our short break. Very comfortable and relaxing, very well equipped, lovely views Make sure you take plenty of supplies as its a long way to the nearest shop! Would highly recommend and would like to return one day.
When we arrived we were surprised to find a wonderful welcome pack, milk and eggs in the fridge. Very friendly owners. Everything was absolutely perfect. It was a fabulous place to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday and will definitely be staying there again.
Fantastic scenery, big hot tub, location is remote but that is perfect as it allows you to unwind. So tranquil and peaceful that we didnt watch any tv for the week just listened to music and read books. Kids of course loved the WiFi which was very good
Stacie
Really enjoyed our stay at the lodge, no faults with anything. As it was a wet weekend, our only suggestion would be some kind of canopy for the hot tub. Thanks again for a lovely weekend
Pentre Fach is a lovely barn conversion and the owners are so kind and helpful. The hot tub is a treat we were here for 3 weeks Fresh water change was done weekly which I felt was great. I Feel the cottage could benefit from some new utensils as the knifes and scissors were blunt and there were not enough glass for 6 people, cottage sleeps 6 but only 3 Prosecco glasses etc also a nice big saucepan would have been useful when cooking for a large family. These are only small Suggestions And had I have asked the owners whist there I know they would have been more than accommodating as nothing was a problem for them and they would have been happy to help. Being in the country flies were an issue for me the owners again supplied us with fly paper and spray etc but if the doors were open the flies were in plenty! I spent a lot of time killing and picking up flies. The beds and bedding were lovely and comfortable and we had fresh bedding and towels brought every week the upstairs rooms were very hot as they are in the roof of the house I was certainly glad I planned ahead and took fans or it would have been unbearable on really hot days especially as I was reluctant to open windows Because of the flies coming in. The games and swing ball in the garden were a lovely addition and there was plenty of garden furniture to sit and enjoy the outdoors. All in all we had a great time here and that was down to Julie and Gareth for helping us feel so welcome there. I would highly recommend A visit to Llandrindod well Lakes which is only a 25 minute drive we spent most days there are the kids enjoyed the fishing which is free to under 16 take your own equipment lovely play area for the little ones and a cafe serving beautiful food for great prices.

What an amazing place to stay. We loved every second off our break away. the hosts couldn't do enough for us. The house was spotless. Would definitely recommend for people to stay there. Thank you for such a lovely stay!
Me and my family we had the greatest time of our lives regardless there was a storm Dennis 2 days before we arrived . The cottages were very clean everything we needed was available meaning utensils. It was quiet and very relaxing and comfortable. Well done Gareth and Julie you guys are amazing and you are doing a great job
This holiday accommodation was absolutely what we needed as it was a well earned break from daily life. Gareth and Julie couldnt do enough for us. Anything we needed was a simple message away and delivered too us with the upmost respect too our privacy. Very clean and well maintained home with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. I would most certainly recommend this place too others.
