Tynddol Barn Reviews

Alessandro-remy
Very clean place, very private overall I had a very good experience. The only suggestion I have is that I can raccomand to the owner to invest in something to cover up the hot tube as because it was raining outside and very windy so we couldnt enjoy it as much as we wanted
Our second holiday at this incredibly beautiful property. Which has been sensitively converted. A stunning setting in the bottom of a valley. Sheep in the field abutting the boundary fence, nothing but open countryside to admire. Love it! Super peaceful. The hot tub is fab. With the lights turned off at night, we enjoyed star gazing. The only slight negative is that there's not a great deal to do around that area with kids, but if you want tranquility in bucket loads, this is the place. We will return again.

The family stayed over Xmas and had the most wonderful time ever. The spotless accommodation and facilities were first class, with everything we needed. We would highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful place, well equipped. Thank you we loved it x

Tynddol Barn is one of our favourite holiday cottages. We've been twice and are looking to go back again next year. It is beautifully appointed, quiet, relaxing and with stunning views. We love the birdlife which surrounds the cottage and watching the farmer move the sheep along the lane. Wonderful place!
Andrea
The property was lovely and very comfortable. The hot tub was an added bonus which we loved. Comfortable beds and the decor was understated and calming, just what we needed. The barn was lovely inside and out and the age range of the group was 2 68years and it suited us all. Even the weather, it rained all weekend, could not spoil the venue. The kitchen had all we needed except oven mitts which meant using the oven difficult. Also no tea towels, I appreciate these are not always provided and there was a dishwasher. The owner answered a query promptly. We would have liked to stay longer. A fantastic stay and I would definitely recommend.
Christine
Nice rural property. The property is in good condition, with a well equipped kitchen. First property we've rented that actually has three good sized bedrooms and a wardrobe in all three rooms. Hot tub is great.
Pamela
We found this property perfect for a relaxing short break. The house and surrounds are beautiful. We enjoyed sitting in the sun, reading, birdwatching, having meals outside with a glass of wine in the evening. Barbeque and hot tub a nice addition. There's lots to see in the area and places to visit shopping at Newtown, the lake at Llandrindod Wells. Tynddol Barn is a stunning property in a lovely area.

Had the best time here with my partner and friends. It was extremely relaxing with all the facilities and amenities nearby. It was great knowing that the hot tub was at hand switched on however, didnt use as much as we hoped but very much enjoyed cooking and relaxing there and we didnt go out a couple of day. I have recommended to my friends and family to book as it is an idea place to relax. It was exactly what was needed and I was surprised at the size of the house when I arrived the pictures dont do it justice. On out stay it snowed making it even more magical. The place was clean when we arrived. We made use of the fire which was lovey treat on a snowy day. I would definitely return here again! Beautiful place and the surroundings are just superb 1010!

We had a lovely stay here for our 10 year anniversary! The location was so peaceful and private, we loved every minute of of it. The hot tub was definitely a great feature and even when the evening was chilly we could enjoy a lovely view of the stars. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and we hope to return in the future.
Amazing place we loved every minute of our stay with you, the hot tub was an added bonus too
This cottage was wonderful, blissful, amazing and we did not want to leave the week went by far too quickly! The setting is wondrous in that it is so quiet apart from hearing some sheep running a couple of mornings being chased by a sheepdog but who wouldn't want to hear that? The lovely living space was so cosy of a night time with the blinds closed and the lamps on with the four of us all glued to our favourite seat on the couch with either a glass of something alcoholic or a humble teacoffee. The beds were to die for, literally, they were like heaven. But the most fabulous facility would have to be the best hot tub we have ever been in it kept its temperature throughout the daynight, it was so clean, and it was all ours for seven exhilarating days and nights please don't pass this place by without giving it a good look over as you would never be disappointed.
We have had a lovely week at this property location was great, accommodation was spot on very relaxing & private, hot tub was a nice touch,we also enjoyed the outside fire pit . Very convenient for touring around lots to see and do,would definitely like to revisit in the near future.

A very nice holiday at a very quiet and peaceful location. The property and the hot tub were fantastic! The owners were accommodating enough to provide us with an extra fan during the hot weather and provide us with an artisan hamper of cookies & biscuits on our arrival. It would have been nice to have an extra fly catcher in the reception area there a quite a few flies! and to have a few basic ingredients in the kitchen salt, pepper, etc.
Had a wonderful week here with the kids. A comfortable home in excellent condition. Owners were very pleasant and helpful. Its beautifully set and even looks better in person. We enjoyed all the facilities. A few friends have already requested for details! Very beautiful place indeed. Thankyou for having us.
Had a great weekend away, beautiful place very secluded perfect place to relax would defo consider going again
Fantastic property. Great location to explore the surrounding area.

Excellent holiday cottage in every way , very clean and well equipped . In a quiet and secluded location . the hot tub was great . We will book again .
We have travelled extensively with Sykes for many years and this was the 1st time ever that no towels were provided. We always take our own towels for hot tub any way,so had to use those for everything. We also lacked food recycling bags and spare rubbish bags.Considering this was meant for 6 people !!! The owner also kept turning the hot tub down.It was situated outdoors in the middle of winter. We had a disabled person with us and, while in use,the temp.drops a few degrees anyway....he came out shivering one day and after that ,we had to keep checking it hadn't been turned down. Apart from that, it was a lovely, clean, comfortable and well appointed home from home.Very cosy and enjoyable.
We had a wonderful time. The barn is so spacious, warm and comfortable, with all the things you need to have a lovely time. We stayed a long weekend, to celebrate two birthdays, but we would love to come back and spend longer. Thank you.
The photos online really do not do this property justice. This is an absolutely beautiful property, with 360 degree views of countryside. So quiet too !! We absolutely loved it and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. So clean. The hot tub was lovely, especially lit up at night. We will be back one day. Loved the holiday from start to finish. Perfect.

The location was peaceful and away from other cottages, had all the amenities we needed for our stay, the Hot tub was looked after every morning just a real pleasant holiday. Would recommend it to anyone.
Tynddol Barn was a lovely, relaxing place to stay. It had everything we needed for a week of cwtching in and enjoying home cooked meals. The fire was lovely. We got extra wood from the community shop which lasted much longer than from Tesco. We were more than happy to support the local community shop so that should definitely be shared with future guests. The hot tub was brilliant. We took our own gazebo as that was the only thing that put us off with our unpredictable Welsh weather. Thankfully we only set it up at the end of the week and got to enjoy the clear skies most nights. Just lovely! Thank you!
Nicholas
A lovely cottage and very tranquil. Narrow road to get to it but not a problem with access. Hot tub was brilliant to relax after a day out. Elan valley and surrounding area beautiful. Fully recommend.
Amanda
Lovely clean converted barn, it had everything we needed for our stay. The garden and setting was beautiful and was ideal for my 2 yr old granddaughter . The hot tub was lovely too. The only negative thing was the amount of flies in and outside of the property. You expect some flies because you are out in the countryside but this was a major issue. We were lucky it wasnt hot because we couldnt leave the doors open and the evening were a lot worse, we had to use the hot tub in the day due to being bitten alive. This is why I havent given it 5 stars but if they could resolve the fly issue I would definitely go back.
Yes I rated Tynddoll barn a 10, but I dont want to recommend it to anyone else because I love it too much, absolute gem of a place cant fault it had the best time ever with the family thank you so much for sharing Tynddol barn with us. Mr & Mrs Blakeburn
Oliver
Lovely property area. Was just what we needed. Only few little niggles front door lock seems to be on the way out and the upstairs shower fittings were a bit loose but otherwise perfect. The kitchen was also full of flies most of the time which was a bit irritating but thats just a function of being in the countryside in a farm! We got some fly swats and made a sport out of it.
We really enjoyed our stay here, the accommodation was clean and modern and I was able to plug my car into the 3 pin socket in order to charge it. The property was nice and isolated so it was nice to play music and drink late at night without worrying about noise. Full facilities were available in the property including wifi and there is a smart tv in the living area where there is also a log burner and wood available. The hot tub was lovely and warm for the duration of our stay, I think it was 13 amp so unsure how it would be in the winter. The only issue we had with it was the amount of flies outside which seemed to want to jump in but there is obviously nothing the owner can do about this, the property is after all surrounded by farming, maybe just a skimmer to get them out would be good as the filter wasn't able to keep on top. Inside the property flies weren't an issue as suggested on other posts and there is a fly zapper in the kitchen anyway. Unfortunately you cant get takeaway here but its only a 20 minute drive into town so you can get food here and there is also a Tesco and Morrisons. The drive is nice to get there too. There are lots of pans, cutlery, plates ect in the kitchen. I would just suggest bringing plastic cups to drink around the hot tub.
Lovely cottage in a wonderful setting. Near the Elan Valley which is fantastic to explore. Weather was very mixed but we were still were able to have a great time. Watching the young lambs in the field and the red kites and buzzards circling above whilst sitting in the hot tub was a highlight.
We had an amazing weekend can not fault anything at all Handy tip we was ... We had an amazing weekend can not fault anything at all Handy tip we was relying on ordering take outs and not moving from the cottage at all for the whole weekend No one delivered takeaways which was unfortunate so we went to Newtown which is about 25 mins drive away and did a shop and ended up cooking on my Bday
The barn has been beautifully renovated and it was a pleasure to spend a week there. It has been furnished to a high standard and the beds and sofa are super comfy. It stands in a spot that is secluded and feels rural but only a short drive up the lane to the road to the village. We didnt have great weather, but that was to be expected in December and the cosiness of the cottage and the lovely hot tub, where you can do a bit of star gazing, definitely made up for that! Lastly can you tell me what washing powder you use? The bed sheets smelt amazing
Overall the cottage was extremely well kept and the facilities were well presented, location is simply idyllic. Overall a very high 910. Areas of improvementSuggestions to Sykes and property owner There was a slight oversight in the loo roll department with only 2 rolls in the entire property with 5 guests staying for 5 days and 4 nights. By day 3 we could see that we were going to run out and had to find somewhere local to purchase additional loo roll because there were none extra in the property. Ideally the property should keep extra loo roll on the property or at least mention in the information pack emailed to guests to bring extra loo roll like they did on the rubbish bags there was a clear message saying the property owner does not know how much rubbish you will throw away, so please bring additional bags which we did. Due to this being a new and isolated location we had planned to not need to leave until the day we were due to depart. Anyways, this is something that can easily be fixed for future guests. Finally none of the Televisions up stairs worked. This was not a big deal but again I feel it's worth informing guest before arrival to manage expectations.
Nicola
We had a fantastic time. The house was lovely with Amazing views. Cant wait to go back.
Leanne
Amazing place really clean your service was excellent the only thing I would say is the hot tub needs a cover over it as when it rains cant use it.
The barn was lovely. The conversion has been done very tastefully. It was great being surrounded by peaceful countryside. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will look forward to returning soon!
Bethany
A beautiful property located in amongst Welsh countryside. Very private and located on flat land.
Abigail
Me and a group of my friends stayed in this lovely cottage for 3 days over the Christmas period, and it was absolutely beautiful! Everywhere was spotless and beautifully decorated, and the view of all the hills was outstanding. The kitchen came fully equipped with appliances, and there was tellies in all the bedrooms which was a lovely surprise! When we arrived, the owners had even decorated the cottage for Christmas with a big Christmas tree and festive decorations we were all made up with it. They were also very accommodating and were very kind with us on the phone when we were having a bit of trouble locking the front door. Would would would recommend!
Couldn't have been better fantastic experience
Great cottage in a wonderful location. Hot tub with a lovely view and no neighbours which was lovely!
