Pistyll Gwyn Reviews

Really enjoyed the cosy atmosphere and felt just like being at home. Highly recommend!
James
We had a lovely stay at this charming cottage! The location’s pretty ideal, especially if you're okay with driving along a narrow single-lane road - it’s a bit tight but manageable. The living room was super comfy and perfect for relaxing. The hot tub was easy to use; just light the fire and wait about three hours for it to warm up, especially if you keep it covered. The nearby pub is just a quick 3-minute walk and serves great food and drinks. Perfect for walks and unwinding!
Emma
We had such a lovely stay at this cottage! The views are truly stunningand it’s so peaceful - just the birds singing and sheep in the distance. It’s tucked away on a quiet lane, so traffic noise is a non-issue; we only saw a car twice in a week. The nearby pub, The Goose and Cuckoo, is just a short walk and served delicious food. Perfect spot to unwind with a glass of wine or a G&T. If you’re after a relaxing escape, this place really ticks all the boxes!

We had a lovely stay at the cottage! The elevated spot gave us stunning viewsand the place was so peaceful and private - exactly what we wanted. The decor was tasteful and cosy, making it feel really welcoming. The hot tub was a highlight; we loved relaxing in it. Getting the temperature right was straightforward - just light it a couple of hours before and keep the lid on when not using. Also, the pub nearby was perfect for a pint or two. We’d definitely come back!

Emma
We loved the cosy cottage, especially with the stunning views. It’s perfect for walking loversand the nearby pub is a real treat after a long day. Just a heads up, the road leading there is quite narrow and quite a trek to the main road!
Oliver
Pistyll Gwyn really is a cosy little cottage set in such a gorgeous spot with incredible views over the Monmouthshire countryside. We loved being just a short stroll away from the Goose and Cuckoo pub - spent a lovely Christmas Eve there. The walks nearby are stunning and easy to get to. The hot tub was perfect, even in the cold winter days. Beds were comfyand the shower was spot on. We had a fantastic Christmas break and can’t wait to come back and see the other seasons!
Oliver
We absolutely loved this cosy cottage, the views are truly stunning and worth every penny. The place is super comfortableand the fire adds a lovely touch for chilly nights. The Goose and Cuckoo pub nearby is definitely worth a visit, great atmosphere. There was a bit of damp in one room, but it’s being sorted, so no biggie. The hot tub was a bit of a let-down, struggled to get it going, but we heard it's being replaced. Still, we’d definitely come back!

Comfortable, friendly, well-located

Honestly, we had a pretty good stay overall. The views are absolutely breathtaking and perfect for peaceful walks, especially with access to the Brecon Beacons nearby. The place feels quite remote, which we loved. The cosy living room with a roaring log fire was a real highlightand the big bathroom with a hot shower was lovely. Only downside was the hot tub-getting it up to temp was a pain and used loads of wood, so we wouldn’t bother every day. Also, there was some mould in the bedroom and a lack of small essentials like matches and washing up liquid, but nothing too bad.
Emma
The cottage is stunning and peaceful, with breathtaking valley views. The nearby pub is a real bonusand the family running it are so welcoming. Lovely hikes!
David

Emma
This place is tucked away at the end of a quiet lane, so it feels super secluded, which we loved. It’s cosy yet modern insideand the views are stunning. Our dog had a blast watching the sheep from the decking while we relaxed in the hot tub. Plus, the footpaths right outside made exploring easy. We’d definitely return!
Alex
Really enjoyed the peaceful vibe, stunning vistasand perfect spot for a chill weekend away. Would definitely return.
Alex
We had an amazing stay at this lovely cottage! The views across the valley are truly breathtaking, especially during sunrise. The place itself was cosy and well equipped, making us feel right at home. The garden’s plant choices added a nice touch. Definitely a place we’d return to!
Emma Roberts
We spent an amazing week at Pistyll Gwyn! The setting is just perfect, with breathtaking views from the cottage. Waking up to the sounds of sheep and buzzards was lovelyand relaxing in the hot tub in the evening was a real treat. The place was spotlessand the owners were super friendly and helpful. We’d definitely come back someday. Honestly, we couldn’t find any faults - it was just brilliant!
Emma Turner
We loved the peaceful vibe here, perfect for unwinding and soaking in the countryside and wildlife. The cottage had everything we needed - really well stocked. The wood-fired hot tub was a bit tricky at first, but once we got the hang of it, it was perfect for relaxing after a day out. The long, winding country lane isn’t for everyone-expect the odd car or truck-and passing places are a must, so be ready to reverse. The owners are super friendly and just nearby. Definitely a place we’d return to. Highly recommend!
Emma
This place was really lovely! The views were breathtaking and the owners super friendly and welcoming. Everything you could possibly need was there, making it feel just like home. The hot tub was a highlightand the walks nearby are just stunning!
Emma
We loved staying at this charming cottage! It’s ideal for a peaceful escape, with lovely long walks just outside. The hosts really went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Just a heads up, the lane up to the cottage is quite narrow, so be prepared. Definitely recommend it for anyone wanting a restful break with beautiful scenery. Totally worth it!
