About Greenacres

An astonishing period property 2 miles from Lyme Park, a stunning country estate renowned for its woodland and beautiful gardens. Perfect for celebrating a special occasion, the dog-friendly property features two lounges, a games room and a courtyard garden.

With the Peak District National Park within easy reach, the property is a convenient base for active groups as much as it is for those who simply want to unwind in stunning rural surroundings. The two-storey property is set off a quiet, narrow country road flanked by properties of a similar style and character.

It is blessed with spacious grounds, large, bright rooms with far-reaching views and long hallways that are almost living areas in their own right. The main lounge is a comfortable space with exposed beams and seating arranged around a wood burner.

The neighbouring Garden Room is a more relaxed space enjoying absorbing views. The Games Room is set up for numerous activities, but there are numerous places for quiet time, including the Library Hall.

The kitchen and the adjacent dining room offer plenty of space to create and enjoy food in comfort. There are wonderful views from each of the six upstairs bedrooms - a super-king-size, a king-size, two doubles and two twins - all of which stand close to three wet rooms and a family bathroom.

The attractive courtyard garden features lawns, seating areas, a BBQ and hot tub. The village of Disley (within 0.5 mile) is handy for everything from a pint to kitchen essentials.

A stroll around Lyme Park (2 miles) is a must for anyone with an interest in history and nature, while the Middlewood Way (8.5 miles) is ideal for walkers and cyclists.

Greenacres Reviews

Emma
We had such a lovely stay at Greenacres! The hosts, Kath and Ivan, are genuinely warm and attentive, making us feel really welcome. The house itself is beautifully kept and in a perfect spot for exploring - the views are breathtaking! They provided all the info we needed and checked in regularly, which was really reassuring. We’re already thinking about coming back this summer to enjoy more of the outdoor spaces and those stunning walks nearby. Absolutely recommend!

We recently held my grandma’s 70th birthday at Greenacres and it was just lovely. The views are truly stunningand it caters well to all ages. The older ladies enjoyed relaxing in the conservatory, while the kids had a great time playing pool and exploring the garden. The hot tub was a big hit too. Kath and Ivor were fantastic hosts - couldn’t do enough for us. Just a heads-up: pack your slippers and dressing gown if you stay. We felt really cared for!

We had a really lovely stay at this cottage. Plenty of space for everyone and super friendly hosts made us feel welcome. The hot tub was a real treat after long walks. It’s just a short stroll to Lyme Park, perfect for dog walks and taking in the views. We didn’t feel the need to go far, honestly.

We had a fantastic stay at Greenacres! The location on a peaceful road with a huge garden and stunning valley views was perfect for us. Ivan and Kathryn were genuinely welcoming and really helpful throughout. The house’s spacious layout suited our big family groupand the kids loved the hot-tub, pool tableand BBQ. It’s also super close to Lyme Park and Disley, where we enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch at the Ram’s Head. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time here, we’d definitely come back!

We found the house perfect for our stay - roomy, spotlessand fully stocked. The games room and sun lounge were big hits, especially with the teenagers. Dining together was easy with plenty of space. Kath and Ivan were super friendly and attentive, making us feel really welcome. Hopefully they keep up the great work with their holiday home!

Honestly, you need to stay here to really get how lovely this place is! We brought the whole family, three generationsand everyone loved it. It’s in a perfect spot for exploring, yet big enough to find your own quiet space. Kath and Ivan are fantastic hosts-by far the friendliest we've come across in all our holiday cottage trips. They really go above and beyond. We’re already planning our next visit, can’t wait to return! It’s a good place, for sure.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house itself is gorgeousand the location is just perfect, nestled on a quiet lane near the village. The views are absolutely stunning and never get old. The facilities were spot onand we appreciated the thoughtful welcome basket. Ivan and Kath were lovely hosts-friendly, helpful, but never overbearing. Nothing was too much trouble for them. All in all, a really lovely experience that we'd definitely recommend!

Peak District National Park -
about 18 Miles
The Peak District National Park is the ideal place to relax and explore.  The stunning scenery will take your breath away and there is the opportunity to take part in ranger led guides and events.  These are ideal if you are new to the area or only staying a short time and want to see the best sights and walks.
Gulliver's World Theme Park - WA5 9YZ
about 23 Miles
This is a very popular theme park with three different locations.  The theme park in Warrington contains not only the theme park but also Gullivers Splash Zone and Gullivers Star Studios.  The Solash Zone is a fully heated indoor water play factory fun for all ages which will appeal on rainy days.  Throughout the year there are seasonal events too such as the Halloween and Fireworks event taking place from 23rd to 31st October.  You can book online to save time and secure your tickets during busy periods.  Over 50% of the rides are actually under cover so you don't need to worry about the British weather spoiling the fun.
Gullivers Kingdom - DE4 3NT
about 25 Miles
This is a top class theme park with plenty to do for the whole family.  From thrilling rides to more gentle activities for the little ones this place is ideal.  The best thing is that 50% of their attractions are under cover so the British weather needn't spoil the fun.
Heights of Abraham - DE4 3PT
about 25 Miles
This unique attraction combines an array of activities.  If you have a look on their website there are some good video clips which give an even better idea of what this attraction is all about.  Some of the highlights include the Cable Car system which is actually Britain's first alpine style cable car system.  You are transported from the valley floor right up above where you can enjoy superb Dewent Valley Views.  You can also stroll around 60 acres of wooded hillside on foot to see an array of birds and wildlife.
Gulliver's Kingdome - WA5 9YZ
about 25 Miles
Gulliver's Kingdome is a family friendly theme park offering many attractions for children of all ages. The site is rather unique and features a huge array of rides including log flumes, roller coasters and pirate ships. For the little ones there are rides such as the veteran cars and the balloon wheel and Diego and Dora the Explorer are on hand to make sure they are having a great time. Between the 21st and 31st of October the park becomes a spooky Halloween spectacular with a range of shows and fireworks to enjoy. Standard prices are £12.00 for adults and children over 90cm. Group booking discounts are available.
Alton Towers - ST10 4DB
about 26 Miles
Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park.  The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones.  All ages are catered for here.  Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis.  There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun. Look out for seasonal events taking place throughout the year such as Wonderful Winter, Pirate Weekend and The Ultimate Fireworks Event.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and save money by booking your tickets online.
Go Ape Cheshire - WA16 6RW
about 27 Miles
Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place.  If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended.  Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience.  This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November.  Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.
