Cheshire Cheese Cottage Reviews

Michelle
Absolutely delightful. Couldnt recommend highly enough. If you are thinking of booking do it!
Rachel
This is our second time in coming here, i was very excited after honeymooning here 6 years ago! The setting is amazing, the owners are so helpful in anything you need, the cottage is super cosy, we didn't have to light the log burner at all in october! So relaxing and peaceful! Lovely bed! Great shower pressure! and great utilities! The Pheasant inn up the road with the most delicious food, and if you love a barge, head to tattenhall marina, so cute! and you can hire them for a day or half a day book in advance Chester zoo around the corner book online to save money and time and chester city centre is lovely with the cathedral there as well I really cannot wait to come again now it went way too quick! Love Rach and Tom xxx
Stuart
Spacious and comfortable one bedroom accommodation that we found clean and cosy. Set in country side amenities including shops, takeaways and pubs are around a mile away. The Pheasant Inn is well worth a visit. Weve never stayed in a property with a hot tub and didnt look for one but really enjoyed returning from a day out and relaxing in the tub. The bed was comfortable and the property generally well equipped. Theres plenty of room to park and the outside area is a good size. We had a lovely week and would recommend a stay a Chesire Cheese Cottage.
Think the cottage needs some TLC. Looking tired. Weeds from parking to door around hot tub. No cleaning essentials, no hoover, these little things help to keep the cottage in good condition. On the plus side, the hot tub helped after a day sightseeing, cycling etc.
We loved our stay at this cottage, it was perfect! Ian was lovely and helpful and we had everything we needed. The location is lovely and relaxing and so peaceful! We would definitely like to stay again.
ThankS for a great 4 night stay, the cottage was wonderful, much bigger then photos . The bed was so comfortable great sleep, but the addition of the hot tub is a much appreciated bonus after a walk to the village, a few pints and a Chinese in the letters which is great pub, where the people were much like yourself, and welcoming, friendly, do everything they can to make you feel at home thanks again
Josephine
We had a lovely stay, very clean, warm & comfortable. Hosts friendly & helpful. Lots around to see and do. I will certainly rebook if in the area again.
Lovely cottage, very rural area. All amenities in village. Comfortable with all you need. Excellent host.
Lovely accommodation in quiet area. Everything you would need in cottage. Very handy for visits to local area.Bus in village goes to Chester every hour. Local supermarket has everything you might need.I have no hesitation in recommending the cottage for a stay.
Michael
As usual you came up trumps again very happy with your choice of cottages see you in September again
Tiffany
We had an excellent stay at Cheshire Cheese Cottage. The accommodation was clean, bright and really relaxing. Very quiet area with privacy. The owners were around if you needed them and were really friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the local area and certainly made the most of the hot tub at the end of each day. A real luxury retreat! Thank you very much for a wonderful time.
Jackie
Beautiful place and helpful host, we would definitely recommend it. Quant cottage in gorgeous countryside and the hot tub was lovely
Claire
Had a lovely stay here at the cottage. Ian was an excellent host, around if we needed him, he just left us to it. Tattenhall is a lovely little village. Chester is only 20 min drive away. Well worth a visit. You can park all day for 10 which was great as we got the train to Liverpool for the day. The highlight was relaxing in the hot tub after all that walking around.
Gillian
Delightful cottage! Very peaceful and relaxing with the bonus of the hot tub, albeit we stayed the hottest week in September. Wonderful hosts, totally recommend.
Lovely property and very roomy for two. The host was welcoming but left us to enjoy ourselves visit in private.
Lovely cottage in nice location just outside Tattenhall. Perfect for visiting Chester and surrounding area. Ian the owner was very helpful when needed. Hot tub was a bonus.
Super peaceful retreat for a week, wonderful location with easy access to all of Cheshire and to the North of Wales. Sheltered outside private area with magical hot tub. Peace and tranquility!
If you want a relaxing, romantic and quiet cottage. .. Well this is the cottage for you. A lovely cottage with everything u need when you go away. And to top it off a relaxing hot tub at the end of the day.
Lovely cottage. Perfect as a base for local visiting and the hot tub was a welcome treat on returning each day. The hosts were helpful and friendly but not intrusive.
Lovely cosy cottage with a very friendly owner Ian. Everything you need. Great base for exploring and then returning back to the peaceful location. Hope to return soon.
Really enjoyed our stay, all facilities were clean and of a good standard, very comfortable bed and the hot tub was clean and easy to use. The manual we received upon arrival was very helpful with tips and activities to explore nearby. The village nearby was pleasant and had everything we needed including fantastic food. Would definitely recommend staying here to others.
A return visit to this lovely cottage, in a good location for walking and sightseeing. Hot tub, as always, the bonus.
What a lovely little cottage! This was such a great find and we thoroughly enjoyed our week here. Ian was extremely kind and accommodating, we stayed with a little one 11 month old and we werent disturbed, we were just left to get on with our holiday but he was always there if we needed to ask a question. The cottage itself was lovely just what you need for a relaxing getaway and with everything you need in it cosy sitting room, decent sized bedroom and a kitchendiner with everything you could need. The shower was amazing really lovely pressure!, the sun loungers were so comfy and the hot tub was one of the best Ive been in it kept the temperature so well! Thank you Ian for such a wonderful stay fingers crossed well be back at some point in the future! Sarah, Louis & Georgina
Antonia
Such a lovely place! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, long walks with a nice little village, local, and Chester being not that far for great days out. The cottage was such a nice stay and the hot tub topped it off, great for catching the sun as well
Christine
We've had another lovely, relaxing holiday at the Cheshire Cheese Cottage, having stayed here in August 2021. We went on walks from the door everyday and had nice meals at the Tattenhall Mariner and the Bickerton Poacher. After our walks it was nice to relax in the private, well maintained hot tub.
Everything was as it should be. Owner very helpful and attentive. Location idyllic and very rural, and great for easy access to amenities and attractions. City of Chester and Chester Zoo to name but two, a short 20 min drive. We would happily stay again..
Enjoyed our stay at Cheshire Cheese Cottage a good location for touring the area . We loved the hot tub ,great to relax in after days out .
Denise
We had a lovely relaxing holiday in a cosy well equipped cottage. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and not far from interesting places to visit if you want to. Just what we needed!
Ian made us feel very welcome! The cottage is a lovely space, in a beautiful location however we feel it is looking a bit tired and in need of some TLC as it's starting to show some wear and tear i.e the bed bows in the centre and has been propped up with blocks. We enjoyed our short visit with our toddler but it would have been helpful if there was a highchair available for mealtimes and easy clean up.
Deborah
Beautiful cottage ideally located very peaceful.
Beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting, the owner Ian couldnt do enough for us and made sure we enjoyed our stay.
Christine
We had a lovely, relaxing holiday. The cottage is ideally situated for the Sandstone Trail and other walks which are all well marked. We had good weather so we walked everyday and spent relaxing evenings in the very clean and very privately located hot tub. Ian, the host, greeted us on arrival and was friendly and informative as were all the locals. We will definitely book again.
Andrew
Cottage was very cosy. Everything you would need was made available. Hot tub was very relaxing after a day out exploring. We had a lovely break away. Ian was very welcoming and on hand if you needed anything. We will definitely visit again xx
A wonderful stay and a lovely escape from the real world! Would definitely recommend!
Michelle Moody
Beautiful little cottage in a great location. Well equipped and clean. The hot tub is a great asset for relaxing in the evenings. Ian, the host, makes you so welcome. Wish we'd stayed long than 6 days.
Lovely cottage and very friendly and welcoming host.
Hot tub was wonderful, gorgeous setting brilliant walks nearby. Cottage was clean and well supplied.
Lovely cottage, good location. We originally selected this cottage for it's proximity to Chester, as we wished to return there, however with the covid situation we chose not to visit any townscities or tourist attractions during our stay. Despite this we had a very peaceful and most enjoyable stay, there are plenty of routes for walking sandstone trail straight from the doorstep of this cottage and there is a well stocked shop in Tattenhall, as well as varied takeaways, if you opt to eat in. We hope to return again soon, hopefully in better times.
Robert
We just spent 7 nights at the cottage 15 th to. 22nd Aug and had a great time. It has everything we needed big well equipped kitchen comfortable bed excellent shower brilliant hot tub great location for a week to visit the area and also relax and a special thanks to Ian who welcomed us was there if we needed him and left us alone to enjoy our break also. it was a great week dispite the poor weather we got out every day and hot tub each time we got back 1010
Elaine
Lots of things to do in the local area. Weather was fantastic. At the end of the day it was lovely to relax in the hot tub.
