We’ve now stayed here three times and each visit just gets better. The house really is a perfect spot for a peaceful getaway, especially with the lovely autumn weather we had this time. We loved exploring the local walks, particularly around Berrington Park, with the misty mornings and frost creating such a magical view from the Hen House. Huge thanks to the owner for making everything so welcoming and special. Can’t wait to come back again next year!
Emma
Wow, what a lovely place! The cottage was spotless and really well looked after. The owner’s attention to detail made all the difference, making our stay feel special. The views were breathtaking and we especially loved the loo with the stunning scenery. The little extras were a nice touch and very much appreciated. Emma
We had a lovely stay! The house is beautifully decorated and very cosy. It’s a nice 30-minute walk to Berrington Halland Croft Castle isn’t far either, with its amazing ancient trees and ghostly woods. The path to the Balance Inn was blocked in August, which was a bit of a disappointment. We enjoyed a fantastic lunch at 2 Bridges in Hereford and also liked the food at The Boot Inn in Orleton. Heather was a brilliant host! We’ll definitely be coming back, like many others before us.
Emma
We had a really lovely time at the barn! The views from all the windows were absolutely stunningand it was super cosy and well stocked. The cake was a nice touch too! We enjoyed exploring the nearby towns like Ludlow and Leominsterand the location is perfect for exploring mid Wales. Definitely planning to come back again!

The cottage is lovely and the setting is so tranquil, apart from the occasional freight train which took a bit of time to get used to! Definitely worth it.

We just got back from an awesome week over Easter at the Hen House with my wife and kids. The place was spotless when we arrivedand there were some lovely little surprises left for us, which was a nice touch. The location struck a great balance between peacefulness and easy access to local attractions. We loved the BBQ, hot tuband star gazing - it really felt like a proper countryside retreat. The hosts were friendly but gave us plenty of space. We’re definitely planning to come back!
James

Definitely recommend!
Emma
We absolutely loved our stay at The Hen House! The place is so cosy, especially when the wood burner is litand the views are simply gorgeous. Heather’s hospitality was top-notch-her cake was delicious, by the way. Honestly, we didn’t want to leave. Thanks for a lovely break. Can’t wait to come back!
Emma Clarke
We’ve now stayed at The Hen House twiceand honestly, it’s just as lovely as the first time. The peaceful vibe and stunning views really help us unwind. The weather was pretty gloomy and stormy when we arrived, but honestly, that just meant we could relax more without feeling guilty about leaving the cosy place. Heather’s done a fantastic job creating a home away from home. We’re already planning to come back next year. Thanks a lot!
Oliver
We had a lovely stay at this cosy little place. It’s really well equipped and perfect for relaxing - we didn’t move the car all week! Plenty of walking, especially around the local pubs like the Boot Inn at Orleton, which we’d definitely recommend. Just a heads up about the Herefordshire Trail - some parts are tricky to follow because of overgrown fields and farmers not making it easy. The pizza oven and BBQ were great fun, but the wood-fired hot tub was a bit of a hassle to get ready after a long 12-mile walk. Still, overall, a nice spot!
