Direct access for walking onto The Cats Back, part of The Black Mountains/Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons). Step into history and follow the exposed wooden beams through this stunning, stone-built property filled with original features.

Whip up a scrumptious supper in the kitchen equipped with an electric hob and oven, kettle, toaster, and fridge – also utilising the freezer in the utility – and enjoy a family meal at the grand, slick wooden dining table in the dining room, accompanied by a window-framed picturesque, countryside. Place your plates in the dishwasher and hop in the garden hot tub for a bubbling massage as you watch the sun sink into the mountain.

Rinse off in an en-suite or bathroom, before cosying up by the woodburning stove in the sitting room. When sleep calls, answer in a ground-floor twin, double, or single bed eager to catch you.

At Old king Street Farm you can spend the day with the charming creatures and enjoy feeding them, grooming them and having a stroll through the woodland. Lamas are not ridden but they can carry all the picnic essentials including tables and chairs! Lama Treks around the stunning Black Mountains are also available.

New for 2010 is the Badgers quest interactive maze. Outside there is a play area, large boating lake with paddle boats, nature trails with clues and quizzes and an agility course. Queenswood Country Park has a stunning location offering panoramic views of the countryside. The area is abundant with wildlife and you can see how many species you can spot while enjoying the nature trails. The park also has a large children play area and a licensed café. Seasonal activities can be enjoyed during school holidays and at peak times of the year including Halloween events and crafting sessions as well as ranger led walks.
Puzzlewood - GL16 8QB

Puzzlewood is a somewhat unique attraction within the beautiful Forest of Dean. Visitors can explore the mile of pathways passing over wooden bridges and through some stunning tree and rock formations. The maze of pathways are quite enchanting and the site has recently been used as a location for the BBC1 production of Merlin. While enjoying the splendour of nature there are many types of wildlife to meet along the way including Shetland ponies, Donkeys and Highland Cattle. A Hocus Pokus Halloween event takes place from the 24th to the 31st of October.
