Owl Barn Reviews

Robert
Lovely place, great location, really quiet, well equipped, only gripes, DVD player didn't work, reported it but Phil didn't have a replacement, guess this will soon be sorted. The taps in the bathroom need looking at, extremely difficult to turn off especially the hot and impossible with wet hands. New washers I think.
We had the best week at Owl Cottage, from the minute we arrived and noticed how we had some essentials milk, bread etc and a lovely bunch of flowers left for us. The beds were extremely comfortable and the house well stocked with everything we could need. It was clean and welcoming and an excellent, quiet location with lots to do and excellent dog walking spot at Haugh Wood. Weve had such a wonderful week, would highly recommend, thank you to the owners.
Everything was catered for, when we arrived there was tea, coffee etc along with other essential food stuffs. The beds were comfy and the location wonderful. We spotted many different birds and even some deer. The hot tub was unbelievable. There was so much to do without leaving the property. And Hereford was a lot bigger than we thought. We are looking into another holiday soon.
We had the loveliest time at Owl Barn. It is a fab property in a beautiful area. Peter the host was fantastic! We will definitely be returning!
Jillian
Lovely place, on arrival at owl cottage we had flowers, bread, milk, butter, jams and biscuits, such a lovely touch, needs a little tlc, ie cobwebs, hottub solar lights need replacing, just things that get forgotten. ..regardless of that, this place as everything you need,I intend to return later in year as its such a relaxing, tranquil place
Claire
Amazing find, especially as a firsttime user of Sykes! This accommodation has everything you need and A LOT more! In fact, it would be worth updating the facilities list so as to avoid doubling up on things like cleaning products, cooking basics, even dog bowls! Not forgetting the filter coffee machine and air fryer!!! The place was clean and spacious enough for 5 plus dog through 4 days of rubbish weather. We made use of the jigsaws and cosy lounge while the teenager made use of the strong Wifi signal! Then the patio came into its own once the rain stopped and the sun came out... the hottub was a bonus came rain or shine! The beds were really comfy with extra blankets provided if you like, of course and add in the fresh air, we slept like logs. The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful with plenty of nature and a fine country pub in easy walking distance Butchers Arms. Plus we were a short drive from towns like Ledbury for a spot of culture & charm, retail therapy and, of course, a coffeecake! Highly recommend...although only tell a few friends so we can keep this little gem to ourselves!
Enjoyed staying here. Very peaceful and good for kids
Suzanne
We arrived at the cottage late Monday evening after a long journey from up North. .To enter a warm cottage with fresh flowers and provisions including eggs, milk, fresh bread etc This cottage has everything ..very well equipped for all ages inc baby gates, high chairs ,toys, books etc..spacious rooms, shower, separate bath and shower, well equipped kitchen and a lovely garden with hot tub and barbecue facilities.the location is idyllic with fabulous views in the morning of the Herefordshire landscape and livestock..a play area with swings etc.. Highly recommend this cottage and have already told family they would not be disappointed.. the cottage has so much character and the owners really do want their guests to feel comfortable and enjoy their stay..thankyou
George
Was a lovely stay, well equipped property, had everything we needed and was clean. On arrival property owner provided fresh bread, eggs and milk which was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend!
Sandra was lovely, going so far as to borrow a metal detector to look for our daughter's necklace that she thought she had dropped in the play area. The house itself was good, if not rather outdated, very clean, comfortable beds and sofas and reasonably well equipped kitchen, though we could've done with some oven gloves. Hot tub was fantastic and the welcome pack was very nice indeed.

A peaceful setting and perfect if you're looking for a quiet getaway. We loved the hot tub and made use of this daily. Good sized garden for our dog. We loved the extras in the fridge and cupboard and the flowers on the table were a lovely touch.
Anastasia
Lovely property, everything we needed for our stay. Peaceful and relaxing, will definitely book again.
Nicholas
Everything we could wish for. Place clean and tidy, hot tub was a bonus. We know Phil and Sandra, so it was a pleasure to meet up again. We have now stayed at The Carthouse twice and now Owl barn as well. Lovely walks and scenery, we did nothing, except Ledbury on the fist Monday, for essentials and The Butchers Arms for dinner, on the last Friday.Which was excellent! All dog friendly too!! If you need to just get away from it all, this is the place to do it. A really lovely two weeks break for us.
Had a fabulous weekend celebrating my 50th birthday. The Owl Barn was lovely, well equipped and the hottub was amazing. Will definitely be returning.
Had an amazing time away, we were a group of 6, plenty of room, beautiful house, such peaceful surroundings. We will be visiting again.
Lovely stay! Cottage is spacious and warm! Beds comfortable! Garden area fab. Hot tub lovely to get into after a day out exploring.Nice walks around from the Cottage so you don't have to use your car. Visited Ross on wye and Ledbury. Village pub The butchers Arms is Amazing. Great food and huge portion sizes!
Beautiful and very comfortable property and the owners had thought of everything you could possibly need! The extra touches of milk, bread, butter, eggs and cookies were amazing and very much appreciated!! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We will definitely book your property again. Meg and family!
We spent Christmas at owl barn, we were amazed when we arrived to see how lovely Sandra had left the cottage. There were decorations in the living room, including a Christmas tree. The table had already been decorated with Christmas crackers, wine and fudge. Sandra had left us milk, eggs, butter, bread and everything you would need in the kitchen. There were so many extras left in every room. Owl barn is a gem. I would highly recommend that cottage. Excellent place to stay
We had a lovely time at Owl Barn, I really cant fault the cottage at all. It was clean, comfortable and cosy and we had such a relaxing time. The sheep in the field and the country lanes were like a home from home, and there were lovely dog walks from the cottage. Our party aged from 5 years to 40 years and we all loved it, especially the hot tub. The owners really had thought of everything and the welcome goodies were wonderful. Thank you so much!
There was everything you could think of provided to make your stay 1010. From the food provisions to toys for children, dvds and books. Not to mention the activity playground. There was a folder letting you know of all the activities and places to visit as a tourist. Couldnt fault it.
Caroline
Owl Barn was gorgeous, everything was there you could have ever needed, the things that were left for us amazing,we had problem with hot tub and Anthony came down everyday to make sure we could use it,It was home from home very relaxing beautiful views we definitely be back mention to Butchers Arms gorgeous food.
William

Geoffrey
We had a great holiday and the family loved the hot tub
We loved our stay at Owl barn its a lovely getaway to relax and unwind and be with nature. The view is absolutely beautiful so quiet and peaceful. The hot tub was a huge hit with the children. It was such a thoughtful welcome pack much needed after a long journey. The home was well equipped and really gave you the experience of home from home. For a barn conversion it was so warm. We loved seeing the chickens in the fields and the wide variety of wild birds.
Spent a week at Owl Barn, very clean & kitchen had more than enough mugs plates etc washing machine tablets & cleaning products. The only downside was the double bed in the smaller room, although the bed was very comfy, good quality bed linen, there was not enough room to easily move around the bed on one side or fully open the wardrobe door. The downstairs shower was the best option out of the 2, not much umph in them. The sofas were very comfortable which makes a nice change from some of the cottages weve stayed at. The food at the pub was the best weve had in a long time & they allow dogs! Overall we had a good stay & the view from the hot tub was so relaxing plus except for 1 day the weather was good. Thank you Owl Barn.
The property was cosy and the little extras really left us feeling spoilt. The hot tub was a firm favourite with the family and so relaxing with the beautiful views.
Exceptional stay in a comfortable home in a quiet location. I chose this house to rent because of the hot tub, number of bedrooms, location and number of sofas. We had a lovely time, my family loved the playground, the view from the property was outstanding. We went for a lovely walk from the house and spent lots of time cooking and in the hot tub. We didnt need to drive anywhere once we got there and that made it even nicer. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook 2 large meals for 6 people
Carlene
Lovely , comfortable holiday home. Wonderful welcome pack when we arrived which was a lovely surprise. Thank you. Lovely meal in the local pub around the corner ,the butcher's arms. Lovely area for walking and exploring.
Nicola
We usually so 34 UK breaks in cottagelodges per year. I can honestly say that Owl Barn is one of the cosiest and cleanest rentals we've ever stayed in. The property is very well stocked with utensils and everything you may need. Although we didn't meet the owners, we were met with a lovely welcome packs and some everyday essentials very appreciated. The lodge is very comfortable and homely the pictures on Sykes really do not do it any justice at all! The kids enjoyed the playground very much. It is secluded and very peaceful. The hot tub was an ok temperature seemed to cool as the nights went on, as a lot do and was very spacious comfortable for 4 people IMO. The WiFi was generally very good for us. The phone signal was dependent on where you were stood inside EEVodafone. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend Owl Barn for couples and families.
Debbie
Very welcoming, warm cottage. Lots of walks from the door.
Absolutely fantastic stay at the Owl Barn! Beautiful house with everything you need for the weekend.. the photos dont do the place justice. Lovely and peaceful and hot tub is fab! Theres a lovely pub a 10 minute walk down the road Butchers Arms which does a fantastic roast for a very very reasonable price id deffo recommend booking for a meal! Couldnt fault this place at all, hosts were also great and very on hand for anything we needed! We will definitely be returning. Thank you for having us!
Michelle
A lovely place to stay, beautiful scenery with a fantastic pub just up the road. This felt like home from home and we really appreciated the extra touches of bread, milk, butter etc. Great walks and lots to do in the local area. We took adult children and we all loved it.
Booked a last minute break here as a group of friends. Everything was brilliant, friendly staff, and only a 20 minute taxi into the main town. Would highly recommend.
The barn is really well equipped, such a lovely place to stay!
Lauren
Owl Barn had everything we could have needed for our week away. The children particularly enjoyed the park and the hot tub! We would definitely stay here again.
