Perfect weekend stay for a group of friends who want a fun but relaxing weekend away. A very unique property in a great location. Walkable distance to walking routes, pubs and little shops. The attention to detail at the property is fantastic. 5 hosts! Highly recommend.
Roland
Superb location and accommodation. Well provided with basic essentials. The welcome offering of seasonal items of drink and festive eats was greatly appreciated and made our Xmas break even more enjoyable. Would highly recommend the Round House for a relaxing break.
Chelsea
Great house. Host was very good at communicating. Would recommend
Katherine
The only downside is there arent enough seats in the living space for 8 people. 2 guests sat on the floor in the kitchen space and downstairs in living area. We couldnt fit 8 of us in the hot tub. The WiFi kept dropping out in the evenings so the tv didnt play properly. Other than that we loved it! The little touches in the bathrooms, the coffee machine pods and saltpeppercooking oil. The property was very clean and the beds were so comfy! Beautiful location for walking also.ample parking for the group size.
A well presented, clean and stylish property. Lots of space and very comfortable. Great for groups or families.
Fantastic holiday let with luxurious comfort & home from home facilities. Location is perfect to explore the area, would highly recommend
A fabulous house with everything needed and more . Beautiful grounds with stunning views.Lovely hot tub.Within walking distance to the village.Cannot fault our stay and will definitely be returning.
Jocelyn
What a splendid holiday home. Everything you could want, and more. Glorious views, comfortable surroundings, wonderful hot tub. All in all really great! Thank you
Beautiful house with everything you need to make your stay perfect. The Round House is in a lovely location but remember the steep hill to walk back from the town centre!!!
Lovely property in a good location, good views from the house and really good facilities.
Stephen
We chose The Roundhouse mainly for its location, ratio of beds to baths and the hot tub, for a family three generation birthday weekend followed by an adult only few days as a reward to ourselves. The unique layout, quality of fixtures and fittings and all the little welcoming extras were an added bonus. What a great place and what a great time we all had. We loved the view and that we could walk everywhere from the house. Plenty of hiking options in all directions. When we werent BBQing, we enjoyed excellent meals at the Station Inn an adventurous hike over Ragleth Hill and at Jaipur in Church Stretton. All in all, a perfect week. A special thank you to Ferne the owner for excellent communications, dining suggestions and providing such a wonderful home from home.
Andrew
The cottage was superb in every way. The rooms were spacious, the gardens wonderful and the views spectacular. We came away for a writers retreat and it was lovely and quiet and the whole atmosphere led us into our creativity. The Kings Arms was wonderful and Jaipur has to be one of the best curry houses we've been to. Only downside was the uphill walk home but without it, we would not have had the views.
Superb accommodation set in a beautiful and peaceful location! The property is outstanding, immaculately furnished and has everything you need! Enjoyed the open plan kitchendiner with bifold doors onto the balcony overlooking garden and of course the hot tub was amazing! Approx 30mins from Shrewsbury, nice to wander into Church Stretton where there are a number of shops and pubs. We had lunch at The Pound Inn, just five minutes away by car, highly recommend! The Round House is a hidden treasure you won't want to leave!
Highly recommend the Round House. I stayed with 3 friends for the weekend. This property is like no other. The hot tub was lovely especially after the downfall of snow and minus temperatures. A well stocked kitchen, beautiful spacious bedrooms. The tropic toiletries were a plus too. Every little detail was amazing. Hopefully be back one day.
The most amazing place. The standard was first class. So many little extras that made it absolutely perfect.
Andrew
We loved the house and we really appreciated the thought that had gone into the architecture and interior design. It's a very well presented property, equipped to a high standard. The only thing we missed was a slotted spoon to use in the kitchen but that was all. The view and the privacy afforded by the the location were great. Other plus points were the hot tub, the choice of TV channels and the reliability of the wifi. Little extras such as biscuits, milk and the various toiletries were a nice bonus. We have stayed in many holiday lets and this was up there with the best.
Amanda
The property is stunning everything you need is there. We had a fabulous time during our stay. Gorgeous welcome afternoon tea with little cakes awaited us which was such a lovely touch. The only points for the owner is to make is clear what to take as we took the advised bin bags, oven gloves, tea towels , detergents etc and it was already there. Also when you have only booked two nights the checking in at 4pm is incredibly late and uses a massive chunk of the afternoon, and then having to check out by 10am! We were all extremely disappointed with that again all the time used by these check in limitations. If youre asking a big group to go by 10am striping beds taking rubbish to the bins is an extreme. We all loved the property but due to the restrictions in check in etc I think it out a lot of us off rebooking. Overall the house stunning.
Property was AMAZING, spotless, comfy beds, hot tub ready to go on arrival and perfect temperature. Excellent communication from owner and Sykes. Thoughtful touches welcome pack on arrival, message and weather for the week on a chalkboard, toiletries, directions with a photos to help recognise the driveway.
The roundhouse is beautiful, and the setting and views are amazing. The hot tub is also a great feature. The layout of the house is great and the furnishings were very comfortable. The robes were also a nice touch. There were 7 of us, and we all fit nicely and had a great time. A few points i would make that need improvements are that the hot water tap in the kitchen was very temperamental, and some of the house technology is just too much..a few to many spotlights too. The checkout is far too early when you have to empty all the bins, strip the beds, and leave the house clean and tidy. You pay a lot of money to stay here, so therefore, the checkout needs to be later to accommodate the owners' needs and so the guests do not have to get up at the crack of dawn.
Rachel
We really enjoyed our stay at the Round House. It's a fabulous location with stunning views of the Shropshire Hills. The house is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need. There are lots of thoughtful touches to make you feel at home. The host was very responsive to our questions and feedback. We enjoyed the hot tub and spending quality time together there. We also explored the forest area nearby which is in easy walking distance and had a Tesco food shop delivered there which was very handy
Michelle
The Round House was amazing! Great accommodation and surroundings. As a group of friends we all want to return at some point as we had such a wonderful weekend. Lots of luxury and thoughtful additions greatly appreciated.
Deborah
Lovely property and location ideal for walking. Well equipped with attention to detail. Thank you.
Stayed as a group of 8 friends and all of us absolutely loved our stayed. Beautiful house, amazing facilities and views, some very thoughtful complimentary things left. Great communication from host, will definitely be back
Alison
Such an amazing place to stay, with the most wonderful views. Everything was perfect and all the little extras that were left for us by the owner were very thoughtful and a lovely touch. The house had everything you could possibly wish for and more besides. We were a party of 6 adults and 2 small children and the layout and gardens worked very well for us. Can't recommend The Round House enough.
First impressions were great. Lovely gardens as you walk to the property. House itself was perfect. High end appliances. All very clean. Beds made up on arrival but all as doubles. We wanted 2 singles, so called the owner and she came within the hour to make into separate beds. Hot tub made for a relaxing evening, and two separate sitting areas one overlooking the tub gave some areas for quiet relaxation. Area of church stretton lovely with nice pubs and cafes. We also dined in the Thai restaurant. All food was great.
Hannah
The house was beautiful we felt the photos didnt do it justice. A visitors book would be nice so people can leave comments on where is nice to eat, visit etc. All in all a perfect holiday
Beverley
Fantastic holiday cottage. Very comfortable. In a great location from which to explore the surrounding areas.
5 of my friends and I had a fantastic week in The Round House. It was pristine, spacious, with every facility you could want including boiling water tap, ultramodern hob and oven, and the new addition of the hot tub was a real winner we used it every day. Everything looked new and the view of the hills was striking from this upside down house. The host was easily contactable and helpful, and she had put in lots of extra touches which made our stay so enjoyable. I would definitely recommend The Round House.
Richard
The hot tub needs to checked on a daily basis other than that had a fantastic time
We all loved our stay , just a couple of little things only one gown per room, plus pillows not very comfortable
The entrance to this property, and everything that followed was very impressive. An interesting, unusual and enjoyable place to stay. The views across Church Stretton to Long Mynd and the everchanging skies were a delight. Good, challenging, walks up from Cardingmill Valley. Easy access by train, max 5 mins walk, to Shrewsbury in 15 mins. Eat at The Armoury, Victoria Quay. Excellent deli's in Church Stretton. Dine at the Station Inn, Marshbrook.
Judith
Beautiful house , tranquil and peaceful surroundings. Excellent facilities. The weather complemented our stay , it was warm and sunny enhancing our spring holiday.
This house was unique, sophisticated, elegant and outstanding. A party of 7 people stayed for 3 days and had a fantastic short break. The hot tub was a lovely bonus we all wished we had booked a longer break. The town, pubs, restaurant and shops were all approx 10 mins walk away. We had an outstanding last night meal at Houseman's Pan Asia Restaurant and even meet the chef. Sensational evening. We will definitely be back, there was nothing negative the owner has got everything....spot on. Well done.
We had an absolutely brilliant stay. Everything was as described, it is a unique property with stunning views. The property was clean and the extra attention to detail was really appreciated, things such as a welcoming package, a message and weather report on the chalkboard upon entry and earplugs etc in the bedrooms. 1010, thank you. Would definitely recommend.
What a wonderfully designed house! We had a really lovely week in a lovely village.Lots of walking ,Recommend the Long Mynd , and relaxing in the hot tub each evening. Would definitely stay here again. Thankyou
Very good stay in a somewhat quirky property. Well appointed and comfortable in a very good position with excellent views over to the Long Mynd and Church Stretton.
Hayley
Beautiful property, tricky to find in the dark but got there eventually. Owner was lovely
We stayed at round house as a group of friends celebrating a special birthday. The house was just what we had hoped for, clean comfortable and stunning views whilst drinking our morning coffee. Carding Mill Valley is only a stones throw away and is worth a trip, some beautiful scenic walking routes. We had a fantastic weekend and would love to visit the round house again! Ferne the owner emailed before hand to see if we needed anything and the tray of goodies on arrival was a lovely touch! All round fabulous weekend!
Louise
The roundhouse is a beautiful property, in a glorious setting. Everything was just about perfect. The only 2 things I have a niggle with, we couldn't get the dishwasher to work, and had to scoop out the undrained water. Unfortunately there was broken glass in it from a previous use not ours and my friend cut her hand on it. The only other thing was the light in the en suite that comes on when you enter. This is extremely bright and startling in the middle of the night. However all that aside we are hopefully looking to re book for another visit. Oh and the jacuzzi is wonderful.
Heather
Amazing weekend spent with my family for my husbands 50th birthday had a couple ... Amazing weekend spent with my family for my husbands 50th birthday had a couple of minor issues that were resolved quickly
