Stoney Cliffe Farm Reviews

Amanda
One of the best farmhouses weve stayed at. Well equipped and furnished to a high standard and a lovely welcome basket on arrival. The hosts were most helpful and even towed our cars up the drive when our cars couldnt make it in the snow. They were also available to answer any questions we had. Our family have had a wonderful long weekend break here, thank you!
Property was immaculate and exactly as described the kitchen was equipped with anything and everything you might need. I cannot fault the property or our stay, it was perfect.
This cosy property was just what we 2 adults and 4 children needed for a few nights away and some days out in the open air. The cottage was very clean, cosy and well equipped. We made good use of the wood burning stove plenty of logs were provided and hot tub. The owner was very responsive and helpful when we needed to contact him. It was well positioned and we visited the Roaches, Luds Church and Tittesworth Reservoir during our stay and it was great to relax in the hot tub after some long walks. We had lunch at Ye Olde Rock Inn and a brunch at the Lazy Trout the day we left. The rest of the time we cooked and ate in the cosy kitchen and then settled in front of the fire. We will be back!
Beautiful cosy property. Private surroundings. Easy access to leek and Alton towers. Had the loveliest weekend and cant wait to return.
Adrian
Great cottage with amazing views of the Roaches. On a working farm so track to property is quite rough and you get the farm smells now and again. Comfortable furnishings and pretty much everything you need for your stay. Thanks for a great visit.
Nichola
Very high quality property, I've been to quite a few lodges and this one is fantastic. The people in the area were really friendly and there are a lot of places to visit which are all really close. Really well kitted out place, not one complaint. All in all we had a fantastic experience!

Of course you can't mention attractions in Staffordshire without featuring the fabulous Alton Towers theme park.  The rides range from thrilling to quite simply terrifying although there are more gentle family rides for the little ones.  All ages are catered for here.  Some of the most famoue rides include Th13teen, Air, The Blade and Nemesis.  There is also a waterpark on site for some splashtastic fun. Look out for seasonal events taking place throughout the year such as Wonderful Winter, Pirate Weekend and The Ultimate Fireworks Event.  Check out their website for the latest admission costs and save money by booking your tickets online.

The Peak District National Park is the ideal place to relax and explore.  The stunning scenery will take your breath away and there is the opportunity to take part in ranger led guides and events.  These are ideal if you are new to the area or only staying a short time and want to see the best sights and walks.
Gullivers Kingdom - DE4 3NT
about 16 Miles
This is a top class theme park with plenty to do for the whole family.  From thrilling rides to more gentle activities for the little ones this place is ideal.  The best thing is that 50% of their attractions are under cover so the British weather needn't spoil the fun.
Gulliver's Kingdome - WA5 9YZ

The site is rather unique and features a huge array of rides including log flumes, roller coasters and pirate ships. Between the 21st and 31st of October the park becomes a spooky Halloween spectacular with a range of shows and fireworks to enjoy. Standard prices are £12.00 for adults and children over 90cm. Heights of Abraham - DE4 3PT
about 17 Miles
This unique attraction combines an array of activities.  If you have a look on their website there are some good video clips which give an even better idea of what this attraction is all about.  Some of the highlights include the Cable Car system which is actually Britain's first alpine style cable car system.  You are transported from the valley floor right up above where you can enjoy superb Dewent Valley Views.  You can also stroll around 60 acres of wooded hillside on foot to see an array of birds and wildlife.
British Wildlife Rescue Centre - TN8 7AR

This is a really unique opportunity to see the fantastic work going on at this centre.  The purpose of the British Wildlife Rescue Centre is to treat and care for injured wildlife which cannot be released into the wild.  Many of the animals are brought to the centre by members of the public or the RSPCA.  Visit their website to see the picture gallery and to find out how to help if this is something which interests you.  There are also regular fundraising events such as the Sponsered Leg Wax.
Denby Visitor Centre - DE5 8NX
about 24 Miles

Go Ape Cheshire - WA16 6RW
about 29 Miles
Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place.  If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended.  Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience.  This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November.  Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.
Crazy Crocodiles Indoor Play & Party Centre - LL30 1DR
about 29 Miles
This is an all weather attraction located in Ilkeston Derbyshire.  With a large play frame as well as bikes and ride on toys this is a fun place for young children.  The toddler time sessions take place during term times on week days from 9.30am until 2.30pm and are very popular. The admission fee is excellent value for money and parents can sit down and enjoy a drink while the children play. A new baby changing facility has now been installed together with some new chairs making this a clean and welcoming attraction for families.  Look out for offers on their website such as a free hot drink on select days.
