Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
Alnwick Castle and Gardens - NE66 1NQ

Alnwick Castle and Gardens today are perhaps best known for their roles as Hogwarts in Harry Potter movies but have for many years been a family favourite attraction in Northumberland. The beautiful medieval castle is open to the public and during school holidays and at Christmas and Halloween a range of activities can be enjoyed including Santa's Workshop, a Pumpkin Parade, Spell Making Lessons and Owl and Bird of Prey Flying.
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT

Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
