Vista Retreat Reviews

The first day the site had no electricity for 24hours, the hot tub couldnt be heated in time to enjoy our second day, and then our 3rd day it was hot enough to use and a maintenance man emptied the full thing as thought we had left. So disappointed with Sykes for not communicating with the site properly or even offering any type of refund or discount on the amount we paid as we didnt get to enjoy it. Over all caravan was nice bar the problems Sykes could have avoided, the wouldnt take any type of responsibility for anything that happened.

Really good stay. Lacked a intro booklet, especially about the place and facilities on the holiday park. Cleanliness was disappointing, as noticeable cobwebs on the lights and some shelves in bedrooms has a covering of dust
We tried and tried to contact you about the boiler that at first wouldn't come on, and then after we reset it, we had to keep resetting it just to try keep warm or to have hot water. It was absolutely freezing the first two nights and Syke cottages at first said they would treat it as 'urgent' and then did nothing. I had to contact them again, to which they asked if I had told the owner. I don't have the owners details so how could I have? All other correspondence hasn't been responded to. To not have a working boiler when it was so cold and not something we should be touching for safety reasons is not on. Also I asked if the curtains could be cleaned or changed as they were covered in mold which again was ignored. With no phone number to call and messages ignored I would never use this company again. I have mentioned that I don't think it is fair to pay full price but unsurprisingly that too has been ignored. Beyond disappointed.
Blanket and pillows very dirty,
Directions wrong but amazing place one arrived

Cragside House and Gardens - NE65 7PX
about 5 Miles
Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
Alnwick Castle and Gardens - NE66 1NQ
about 6 Miles
Alnwick Castle and Gardens today are perhaps best known for their roles as Hogwarts in Harry Potter movies but have for many years been a family favourite attraction in Northumberland. The beautiful medieval castle is open to the public and during school holidays and at Christmas and Halloween a range of activities can be enjoyed including Santa's Workshop, a Pumpkin Parade, Spell Making Lessons and Owl and Bird of Prey Flying.
Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 21 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
