About The Old Mill Hideaway

Tucked away in the quiet little village of Ellerton, engulfed by luscious green pastures and rambling Yorkshire countryside, is this freshly converted, detached annex in the grounds of the former windmill; a picturesque scene to be admired from the moment you make your way up the gated driveway. As you step through the double French doors from the enclosed patio you will be immediately delighted by the high quality design laid out in the open-plan living space, with bright and airy colour schemes alluring you into a sense of calm and tranquillity.

Relax and unwind on the sofa with the woodburner ablaze, or step across to the kitchen to find all that you need to cook up a delicious dinner on sleek worktops, with ultra-modern fixtures and fittings. The dining area rests adjacent, finishing the setup in style.

Just off from here is the luxurious bedroom with plenty of wardrobe space and a contemporary en-suite bathroom, enjoying a chic set of black, white and grey overtones. This modern formation is simply perfect for couples seeking some quality time together, with the added benefit of the fabulous outdoor hot tub, privately stowed under a luxury wooden gazebo, for added seclusion in a romantic setting.

Here you can also enjoy sitting out during summer months on the garden furniture, with a refreshing beverage in hand, over a spot of alfresco dining. Perhaps head into the village one afternoon and have a cheeky drink at the local pub, as you're passing through on a leisurely stroll.

Or take a trip to the North Yorkshire Coastline which you can reach within the hour. Also nearby is the Lower Derwent Valley National Nature Reserve comprising a wealth of woodland and wild meadows for walks in the country, while the town of Selby boasts shopping, restaurants and Selby Abbey for exploring.

The Old Mill Hideaway Reviews

Fantastic cottage, great location for exploring the area huge amount to see! Cottage very clean, well equipped facilities. Owners very polite, had an introductory chat on arrival and another at the end of the week before we left, the owners then keep themselves away, but always there should you need anything at all. To top it all, the hot tub area was fantastic for unwinding at the end of a long day of sightseeing, great wooden canopy which makes the hot tub enjoyable in all weather. Had a great, comfortable stay, would highly recommend.
One of the best cottages we've stayed in. Nicely furnished, clean & quiet. Kitchen well equipped which is sometimes a problem. PLUS HOT TUB! Highly recommend for nice romantic stay. I've got mobility issues and apart from couple of steps in, it's fine.
Another fabulous week at this most amazing cottage. It is beautifully kept with everything you could possibly want. Perfect for a peaceful, relaxing break.
Hilary
Our second stay at this lovely cottage. We love it here, it has everything we need and is comfortable and peaceful. Julie is very welcoming and provides a great welcome pack. Highly recommend. We will be back again soon
A brilliant week in a well appointed cottage with a great welcome from owners Julie and Dave. Despite changeable weather, I had a fantastic time, that was made easier by having such a great place to come back to, after a busy day. Julie and Dave were welcoming and very helpful when required. So much to see and do in the area, Im sure Ill be back when I am able and may even venture into the hot tub next time!
A brilliant holiday home. This cottage is second to none. It is a credit to the owners Julie & Dave for keeping everything immaculate. Thank you for a really lovely week.
Lovely property and great hot tub. Owner was very welcoming and left a nice gift basket
Hilary
Super little cottage perfect for two people but still spacious. Julie has thought of everything needed for an enjoyable holiday. Set in a lovely location overlooking countryside and it's a pleasant walk into the village. Enjoyed our week here, used the hot tub a few times, which was great and lit the log burner at night, which felt really cosy. Julie and Dave are lovely welcoming owners and provide a great welcome hamper, which we really appreciated. We will definitely return, hopefully in the summer. Thanks for everything Julie.
Steven
A lovely stay at Old Mill Hideaway. This is our 4th stay here. Lovely clean, well equipped place with a hot tub. We always enjoy coming back here.
We enjoyed a great stay at the Old Mill Hideaway. The host Julie met us to ensure we were happy with everything and was available if we needed anything, but our privacy was not imposed on at any time during our stay. Every thing you need was there, the welcome pack was a nice touch, It was spotlessly clean, The Hot Tub was ready on arrival one of the best top of the range we have used, The pub is very close and welcoming but does not serve food at all. We would definitely stay again and recommend without any hesitation. Many Thanks to Julie & Dave.
Beautiful cottage in a quiet spot but accessible to many towns. An added bonus is the hot tub plus the choice of a bath or shower. We were very cosy and comfortable and enjoyed our stay. We were greeted with a generous welcome pack and Julie the owner came over to check we had everything we needed. We visited Selby, York, Hornsea, Bridlington and Beverley. All a maximum of an hour away. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
Christine

What a lovely place to stay super clean scents as you open the door! A relaxing and tasteful environment. Really friendly and perfect host yet totally respecting our privacy. The hot tub was very well maintained and great for a rainy stay with the bluetooth music, lights and shelter. Very modern and everything you could need was provided by the considerate host.

Such a lovely place to stay. We have been here 3 times now and we would thoroughly recommend it. Great hosts, fully equipped cottage and beautifully clean and cosy.
Great stay! Will return Thank you, great hosts.
Perfect setting for a chilled couples getaway. Owners very friendly but not intrusive. Views from the cottage were gorgeous and the private secluded hot tub was awesome. Facilities wise it has everything you would need including a bathroom to die for. Would recommend it to all my friends.
The Old Mill is a fantastic cottage in a great location. The property is spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could possibly want to enjoy your holiday. The hosts provide a lovely welcome pack and are on hand if needed but in a very unobtrusive way. The hot tub is a great addition to the cottage. This is the nicest cottage we have stayed at in a very long time. Thoroughly recommended.
Second time back here. Fantastic property with wonderful owners
Eileen
Our second visit was as good as the first. Julie and Dave maintain this cottage to a very high standard, full marks to them. We will, hopefully, return.
Tracie
Cant fault anything about either accommodation or hosts. Simply Perfect.
Fabulous venue, so quiet and relaxing. So much thought has gone into just the design and furniture but the smaller details. There is NOTHING that has been overlooked in the kitchen and cooking utilities. Excellent and 5 Stars all round we will be back
Nicola
Absolute stunning wee house. Owners are lovely and very welcoming! It has everything you need for a relaxing break and is stunning inside and out. Can't fault anything and will certainly be back.
Julie and Dave, the owners extremely helpful and friendly. Property as described, very clean, excellently equipped and in a nice rural farming village. 10 Stars!!! Local shops in the adjacent village of Bubwith, although small, were adequate for most essentials, Sainsbury's in Selby fine for a bigger shop. Julie told us the Oaks Golf club accepts non members and has a good bar with bar food and an evening restaurant. York was very quick to get to. Further afield a trip to Filey via the Wolds is well worth the drive.
Matthew
Fantastic Hideaway, lovely quiet spot. Welcome basket a nice touch, well equipped and all to a very high standard. Hot Tub perfect for the evening with a few drinks

Steven
Excellent, everything you could possibly need, spotlessly clean and the hot tub a luxurious bonus.
The place was highly recommended by my parents who stayed earlier in the year. They were raving about it so much that we instantly booked, and I am so glad we did. Cute little cottage had everything we needed. Julie was an amazing host. Very warm welcome provided, and was quick to fix an issue we had with one of the bedroom lamps. Using the rubber duck to let us know when the hot tub was available to use was so adorable. Thank you so much Julie. We had an amazing time.
This is the perfect Hideaway to get away from it all. The attention to detail Julie and Dave have put into this property is amazing, nothing has been overlooked. We had a fantastic week staying here and will be coming back again.
Graham
