Beck View Reviews

Judith
A very relaxing location, we so enjoyed our stay! The house is very well equipped, and, although the hot tub was slow to heat, as we were there for the week it wasn't an issue, and we didn't contact the owner, it is an added luxury. Comfy beds and towels. Fabulously well cleaned. An all together fantastic house. Thank you!
Louisa
The only negative feedback would be that the hot tub wasnt consistently hot enough to be able to enjoy it throughout the weekend. We had to wait until late evening on Friday to enjoy and then Saturday it took a long time to get to a suitable temperature before we could use it. Would expect it to be on constantly throughout our stay so we could use at any time.
Austin
Absolutely 1st Class. In all my years of going away this is by far the Cleanest property we have ever stayed in , and also a fantastic property inside and out. Views outstanding. Will definitely visit again in the coming years. Thank you
We had a marvellous time at the cottage. It was very clean well maintained and very comfortable. The views were too die for.
Stephen
Property was in an idyllic and relaxing location. Was beautifully presented and maintained. Tastefully decorated and welcoming. Would have loved to have stayed longer. Many thanks.
Deborah
Excellent property within easy reach of the Southern lakes. Beautiful views across the Beck and fields. High spec facilities and friendly owner.
Charlotte
Lovely property, all the mod cons you can want, especially the hot tub! I always struggle when sleeping away from home but had the best sleep for the whole week. If we ever go back to the Lake District we would definitely stay there again
Andrew
The location was perfect nice and tranquil yet close enough to activities and places to visit. The pub down the road was brilliant for food. The house was spotless and so well equipped with no expense spared in materials or quality of items. Having the washer and dryer was great with the towels and having a small child too. Would recommend to others and hope to return in the future!
It's such a lovely place to stay. The area is beautiful and the house itself is perfect. We all loved our stay and instantly wanted to come back again. All the beds were comfortable and the house was very well equipped.
Christine
This was a beautiful, spacious house. It had everything you could possibly need and was situated in a perfect place. We wanted to book again for next year, but it has already been booked
Adrian
Absolutely fantastic such a great base extremely comfortable would highly recommend, well equipped, cleaned to a very high standard. Would definitely go there again
The house was superb. Location was wonderful. All facilities perfect. Only one whisky glass with 2 whisky drinkers is the only negative.
Suzanne
What a wonderful property in an excellent location. The property has everything you need for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Extremely clean, very comfy beds, good quality furniture and the decor looked freshly decorated. The cottage was cleaned halfway through our stay including all the bedding and towels changed to the same high standard as on our arrival at a time arranged with us. The owners are very friendly and more than happy to help should an issue arise. It is situated in the countryside with stunning views but within a 10 minute drive of Kendal. What definitely book again.
Very clean and very comfortable accommodation. We have some issue with the WiFi, and the owner is very helpful to send a gentlemen out to sort it out quickly.

Booked for bank holiday for a group of friends, ages from 2035. We all had the most amazing time and couldnt be happier with the house. We were lucky enough to meet the owners who were really lovely. The house was really clean open arrival and included everything we could have needed. Great location and loads of parking. We took 3 cars and could have easily fit another one. The house had the comfiest beds we have ever slept on and all bedrooms are really spacious. The hottub was great added extra! Would recommend and 100 would like to come and stay again.
Jennifer
Simply stunning. Absolutely beautiful area, countryside views, the stream & those lambs so adorable. The property was 5 star, everything you could ever need, every detail thought of, no expense spared. It's not often you find a holiday rental with such a high quality interior & furniture. Everything was perfect. Our only issue which was not with the property was that Sykes told us we could enter at 12 on the day of our arrival & leave at 12 on departure, which led to us still sitting enjoying the view when the cleaner came! I would absolutely recommend anyone to stay here but I want to keep it for myself
Selina
Absolutely gorgeous cottage with a stunning surrounding, it was so peaceful and ideal for a chilled out break away. Immaculately clean and has everything you need for your stay. The only down side I have to say is maybe checkin could be a couple of hours earlier and checkout a couple of hours later. Would definitely recommend and will probably book again at some point for another visit.
Fantastic property in rural setting, lovely accommodating owners who we met on arrival. Well equipped and super clean. Would highly recommend.
Cherril
The cottage is stunning and high spec in a fabulous setting. The only thing I would change is a slightly later check out like 11am 12noon. Feels very rushed 8 people getting up and out by 10am. I would definitely stay again though and recommend to friends.
Excellent stay, had a wonderful time. Hot tub was perfect, view was incredible. Super clean and beds were very comfortable. Utilities are perfect.
Bethany
We had a long weekend here this weekend and we all had the best time. Everyone commented how clean and lovely the house was. Would 100 recommend and cant wait for our next stay.
We absolutely loved our stay, would highly recommend. When arriving we was all wowed, very large and spacious and the rooms were fab. Hot tub was great, although it did start to smell towards the end of the week which put us of going in it, but apart from this you would not be disappointed staying here. Great location and not to far from Windermere, Grasmere etc. Views from the rooms are out of this world, very peaceful.
We were a party of 8 ladies celebrating a 50th birthday and wow did Beck View provide the perfect place for us. Luxurious cottage set in a peaceful haven everything catered for and the hot tub was the icing on tree cake after our days out in the countryside.
Our annual friends' retreat led us to Beck View this year, and it was a complete delight! This cottage is an absolute gem boasting breathtaking views and a clean and modern, wellequipped setup. With 2 ensuite double bedrooms upstairs and 2 more rooms downstairs, along with 2 bathrooms, it comfortably accommodated our group of 6. The garden, including a hot tub on the patio, which added an extra touch of luxury to our stay. A 20minute walk led us to a welcoming pub where we enjoyed delicious food and a warm atmosphere. The only minor hiccup was the living room seating a long corner sofa that tended to move apart while we sat, but it was a trivial issue that didn't bother us too much. Beck View won our hearts so much so that we immediately rebooked it for next year! Looking forward to creating more unforgettable memories in what is a really lovely and fabulous retreat
We chose this property for our group of 3 as it was our present to our best friend for her 60th birthday. One of the main reasons for selecting this cottage was for the hot tub but also the pictures gave a very positive impression of the standard of the home. We were not disappointed. It is a beautiful, well maintained cottage. The standard of the finishings and furniture are excellent, providing very comfortable seating and sleeping arrangements. The hot tub was fantastic pity the weather wasn't
Great place with everything needed host on had if you need anything
Second time in this lovely house. Spotlessly clean, very well equipped. Stunning scenery. Plenty of parking. Short taxi ride into Kendal. Fantastic property for a group due to the open plan kitchen, dining and living area. The only negative would be the hot tub is cold on the first night as it takes time to heat up.
Beautiful cottage lovely decor and really well appointed. Hot tub was lovely. Highly recommend this property.
Lovely property in superb location. House clean with extensive inventory and modern appliances, everything you need for a comfortable stay. Beds very comfortable, plenty of space in bedrooms and bathrooms. Near to Kendal and some lovely walks. Easy to get to the rest of the lakes, but car is essential. Loved the hot tub, we even used it in the rain!
The property is finished to a high standard and was very comfortable for three couples. Beck View is a short drive from Kendal and is handy both for the Lakes and the western Dales. We very much enjoyed the stay.
Allison
Weve just spent the loveliest week at Beck View and couldnt fault it at all. The setting is perfect and the house was superb for our family gathering. The hot tub was enjoyed by everyone and the garden area was ideal for an 18 month old to run around and play with her bike. I would definitely recommend Beck View to anyone looking for a peaceful rural setting with a short drive into town.
Beautiful accommodation. Would recommend it to all. Our little one loved that sheep and cows were so close to the house. Lovely countryside and lots to do in the area.
The house was amazing. So clean, neat and tidy. Its like a hotel and we all had a relaxing and enjoyable break. We would highly recommend!!
Six Family members very much enjoyed our week's stay at Beck View in the middle of June. The facilities were excellent, though there were problems with operating the oven. One elderly person could not access the shower located in the family bathroom over the bath. We suggest that clothes hooks inside the bathroom doors, and wedges for the springloaded bedroom doors, would be assets for your elderly visitors, as would some way of making the patio steps more visible. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and of course the hottub was very popular.
Had an amazing time and the owners were very helpful and so lovely and kind. Beautiful property and very well kept and organised. Definitely come back regularly. Our holiday felt very special so thank you . Mrs Moore
Theresa
We were a party of 6 staying the end of April 2023. The property was lovely & rural with beautiful views. Clean & the bedrooms were beautifully decorated. The only thing I would suggest is soft closes on the doors as they slam shut & in the bedrooms hook's on the back of the doors for dressing gowns. We really enjoyed our stay & would recommend the place .
Kathryn
Gorgeous property, as described. Stunning views and great location.
Stephen
First class accommodation in scenic and peaceful surroundings. One of the best cottages we have stayed in! Everything you could want from facilities to location.

Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.

Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ

Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US

This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 21 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Bowland Wild Boar Park - PR3 2QT
about 28 Miles
Head for the Bowland Wild Boar park and we don't think you will be disappointed.  A popular attraction in Preston there is so much to do for the whole family.  From picnics, walks and wildlife to experiencing feeding the animals you are sure to have a memorable day out.  Also popular is the kids tractor play area.  For rest and relaxation the cafe is ideal serving hot drinks and snacks with a lovely view over the pond and wildlife feeding station.  The Forest of Bowland has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
