Cherry Trees Reviews

Overall really enjoyed our stay at cherry trees. A beautiful house in a great location. Did find using the ovens on the aga a bit tricky at times.
Very nice property. Gorgeous surroundings and lake view. The house is incredibly spacious and the hot tub and tennis court are a huge bonus. A house of this size really needs a separate tumble dryer though. Otherwise, no complaints at all
Amazing house! We all loved it! Plenty of room, spotless and great outdoor space!

This is our second time at Cherry Trees. We enjoyed everything about it, from the minute you walk in you feel completely at home. The views are spectacular from the house. The house is beautifully maintained. Every room was used by us all, so we didnt feel we were on top of each other, if you wanted to have a quiet half hour, you definitely can get that there! The teenagers had their own gaming room. Big hit with us parents. Definitely would come back again. We had a power cut whilst there and within an hour, someone was with us to help sort out the fuse box so we could carry on enjoying our holiday. The maintenance for the hot tub was also good, every couple of days someone popped round to top up the water and make sure it was ok. The location is perfect for a walk into Bowness. The only thing Id say which is minor, would be a nice little welcome pack, just to welcome you after a long drive. We had all our shopping arranged for delivery for when we got there so we werent long without a brew on arrival. The only complaint I have is that I dont live there
We recently celebrated with our family following our wedding and stayed at Cherry Trees. I can't put into words how amazing it was, the house is unbelievable, everyone in our party was blown away by the size and how beautifully decorated it is. The outdoor space around the property is perfect, you aren't overlooked by anyone and the views are very special. The hot tub was a massive hit, even with people that said they'd never use one! Its also very well located for walking into Bowness and visiting the lovely shops and bars. Thanks for making our special celebration so memorable in this beautiful place
A beautifully situated house which was comfortable and stunning. Spectacular views from nearly all rooms. Furnished and decorated to a very high standard. The kitchen was a joy to cook in! We had a lovely relaxing week in this amazing house. It is close to the town and all amenities and plenty to do on or by the lake. Lots of places to eat and drink. Would highly recommend to other and can confidently say this has been our best new year break to date.

We had a loverly holiday the cottage had everything you could think off and plenty of room to chill out. Hot tub was great to relax in every day and the tennis court was used. Short walk down into Windermere, can recommend Base Pizza for loverly meal out
Adrienne
The cottage was perfect for our family celebration. The different reception rooms were very welcome there was an appropriate place for each of our different needs. It was lovely to be able to see the lake, and to have a game of tennis or dip in the hot tub. Each member of our three generations enjoyed their stay.
What an amazing house, the grounds were beautiful and it felt so homely, we didnt want to leave. Even when it rained it was lovely to sit in the window seats and read or enjoy the views. The lounges and the hot tub were perfect for sunny afternoons and evenings after a long walk in the nearby hills. Walking into Bowness wasnt too difficult either. The house was spacious and had everything you needed. The beds were so comfortable, we all had the best sleep. We couldnt have asked for a better holiday, we all feel relaxed and revived. We hope to come back one day. A truly special place.
The house itself was lovely. However the previous occupants had been smoking in the Tom that my parents stayed in and it took 4 days for the smell to go even with the windows open and use of air fresheners. The cleaners were made aware. Very disappointing as listed as strictly non smoking

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 6 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 12 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 12 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 16 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 19 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 25 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
