Me and my mother and Partner and child had a really nice stay the lodge was lovely. Although it was not easy to find on site.
Andrea
Very spacious and comfortable lodge for 2 adults and 4 teenagers. Beds very comfy. A lovely private terrace with hot tub and a roof terrace to sit out on with views of the lake. The caravan park was peaceful with a restaurant, bar and evening entertainment for all ages. Great location inbetween Ambleside and BownessonWindermere. Only a 10 minute walk to Zip World. Definitely recommend.
Lovely lodge, perfect for what we required. We love White Cross Bay. Clean, tidy, and well equipped, hot tub was simple to use.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay at this wonderful lodge on White Cross Bay. We were able to relax in between our outings to such as Brokhole, just a 15 minute walk, Fell Foot, Lakeland Maize Farm and various other places. The rooftop deck area provided a fantastic vantage point for daytime and night time relaxation and the hot tub was used many times especially after some kayaking out on Windermere Lake at the site. The owner kindly contacted us during our stay to see if we needed a change of bedding or fresh towels as we were staying the 2 weeks which was appreciated. Highly recommended and hoping to book again in future years.

What is there to say, except my teenagers and I had an absolutely amazing week staying at Thirlmere Lodge! This was my 4th visit to White Cross Bay and it was definitely the best by far. Everything was perfect from start to finish. I was worried about the 400 housekeeping bond tbh because we haven't had to do this in the past, but I needn't have been, because the owner kept his word and the bond was immediately returned. I understand why it's requested because it is a beautiful lodge, with all the beautiful added luxuries such as hot tub, fancy fire, leather sofas, glass dining table, and you have to respect this gorgeous property! The bedding was lovely and smelling fresh, beautiful white Egyptian towels, the showers were brilliant, the dishwasher was an added bonus, a lovely big fridge freezer, and TVs in every bedroom. My son was overjoyed with your spare phone chargers, and all the board games and playing cards, excellent idea. Then there's the roof top terrace, we were so lucky with the sun, and gosh what a suntrap, I felt guilty sunbathing up there because not every lodge has them and the kids joined in the sunbathing because they could put their treats on the table, and the reclining chairs made them settle, nice for them to get off their phones and have some vitamin D! And see the magnificent jets going over the lake, wowzers, creating happy memories that we don't see at home!! The kids used the on site swimming pool every day, the sauna, steam and jacuzzi was perfect for us adults too, the games arcade cost me a fortune but we won about 20 keyrings, the food on site was perfect for lunches, the shop is cheap and very well stocked, the lake on site is pretty at night, and Windermere, Ambleside, Keswick, just stunning, absolutely stunning, best UK holiday by far, we will return year after year, yes I highly recommend you stay at Thirlmere Lodge in the beautiful Lake District. Thank you Barry and team, we'll be back next year
The cabin layout is very good but the cleanliness was appalling we have taken photographs. The cooker hob was filthy, the work tops were filthy, the blinds were full of dust and clearly haven't been cleaned in a long time. Generally the tops of vanity unitsbedside tables were very dirty. The carpets are heavily stained and needed hoovering when we arrived, the blind on the main front door was broken, the bin was dirty and had no bin liner, the glassesplates again needed washing before we used them, we wiped the worktops down before preparing food. Outside the hot tub was fine but the tablechairs were very dirty and full of bird poo, the decking wasn't swept. The fire in the lounge didn't workwouldn't power up. Lastly the thermostat for the heating it was locked and we couldn't alter the heating. I appreciate from an owners perspective they want to make sure guests are not leaving the heating on full 247 but we actually wanted to turn it off! The property was unbearably hot and we had to leave windows open to cool it down which is a terrible use of energy. All in all the layout was good but the property was not presented well, it was not clean and it was very tired there is a rotten door frame in the loungestained carpetsbroken blindsbroken fire. It was quite disappointing given that we stay on the park regularly and invited friends to stay off our recommendation. We wouldn't choose to stay in this particular cabin again.
We had the loveliest 4 night stay here. Our 8, 6 and 1 year old joined us and we all loved the hot tub which we made use of every night. Beds were very comfy, kitchen was spacious with all you need, bathrooms were nice, the dining table was big and kids could relax and draw here, and the surroundings were so calm and chilled. Its a very short drive to Bowness and Ambleside and we took the kids to Brockhole for their Halloween event which was amazing and it has zip lines and play areas for the rest of the year and it was round the corner! My only recommendation for the lodge would be to have a DVD player as my kids love to snuggle up each evening for movie night and freeview tv doesnt have films. We actually took our own DVD player so we were totally sorted. We would absolutely come back to stay again!
Claire
We loved our stay only a couple of things I would suggest a garden brolly over the table would be good and the kitchen could do with a good clean as well as the dinning table it was sticky even when wiped. The utility that is shown is actually locked so you cant get in and could of done with a easier way to turn the fire on the manual in the door was draw was complicated to understand the bedding and towels smelled lovely and clean and well stocked kitchen. However you cant please everyone and we have already booked for next year and cant wait.
Really nice lodge, very cozy and spacious. Has everything you need. Only issues I found was that there was no blinds in the bedrooms and the jets in the hot tub weren't very good. Everything else was great.
Beautifully appointed lodge and very well equipped. Highly recommended. We had a problem with accessing the key and the heating but these issues were swiftly resolved. Note that the utility room shown in the photos is not available to guests. However there is plenty of space. Sadly we did not have the weather to enable us to enjoy the hot tub or the roof top terrace.

We have been staying at white cross bay for many years and this is the second time we have stayed in this lodge. The lodge is situated in the perfect place on the park, small walk to the main pubshopswimming pool and also a small walk to the marina. The lodge itself is very comfortable, equipped with everything needed for a stay away & great hot tubroof top area. The only thing I would recommend is the lodge could do with a bit of a deep clean touch up just so its at its full potential but this did not affect our stay. White cross bay is in a lovely location with so much to do on your doorstop so will definitely be booking again for next year.
Very disappointed with cleanlinessmaintenance of the lodge, especially considering the premium we had to pay for staying over new year I had to wash all the crockeryglassware we needed on arrival. Dishes were put into the cupboard dirty. Had to scrub dining table as it had sticky marks all over it. Long curly hair found on my pillow on going to bed on the first night. Hot tub jets partially working yes, we tried to twist them onoff En suite floor tiles not secure standing on one tile prevented bathroom door opening. No anti slip strips on entrance stairs. The lodge is a really good size and layout is great. We paid the additional amount for use of the pool, which was warm and the boys really enjoyed it.
A good stay overall but the lodge would benefit from having a deep clean of all soft furnishings.
Everything from first booking to leaving was. Great except the way we were treated in the restaurant, as we werent owners of the lodge we were treated like second class citizens, after waiting over 45 minutes for out breakfast order we were told it was going to be another 45 minutes as a lodge owner and familyguests had arrived in their posh area and our order would be pushed back, I understand that owners after paying to buy a lodge are going to get preferential treatment but I still felt it was wrong and unfair
Dianne
Lovely cosy cabin had all facilities we needed. The cabin is close to clubhouse and lake both about 5 mins walk away in each direction. 1 small issue dirty grill pan full of grease we cleaned it but didn't use as there was a toaster we only use anywhere for breakfast as we eat out at night. Also I don't have a dish washer so didn't use but I think an instruction leaflet would be handy if next people want to give it a try. No reflection on the log cabin but it is very poorly lit definitely needs lots more lighting and the clubhouse is nowhere big enough to cope with people who stay we went in on 2 nights at 7 o clock and not a table or space this needs attention. The arcade is left to older boys to use the basketball ball to play football in there smaller children getting hit. If there parents just sit and drink and not watchingbothered about what they doing then this should be manned by staff or cameras to reception staff to monitor and control.
Jennifer
We had a nice 2 day stay at the lodge. It was very clean and the furniture was comfortable. A welcome pack and a note from the owners would have been nice. There was NO internet for the whole time as reception advised that they were upgrading it so it was not available. One of the recliners was broken and didn't recline. The clubhouse is small. We did not use the pool or gym. Suggestions an umbrella on the deck, a barbeque.
Wonderful place, the whole family had a brilliant time while in No 6 Thirlmere ! ! The lodge itself is fantastic, comfortable sofachairs and beds, loads of space, loads of towels, lovely hot tub, rooftop balcony was brilliant at night for the kids and great that the WiFi never worked, kids could be kids again without social media . Couple of very minor things, not complaints, just observations some food goods were left behind from previous lodgers in cupboards and freezer, not sure why cleaners didn't remove them before our arrival, cleaners could do better with removing the few cobwebs within the lodge, plus a fold up clothes horse for hanging wet clothes would be great to have in the lodge. All in all, super lodge, within a super park, in a super location ... We will definately be back to Thirlmere View !!
Stephanie
Myself and my family had a lovely stay here and we will definitely be booking again. We were saying on departure how much we wished we could stay a few more days. Everything was lovely and clean. The towels provided were lovely and soft and smelt amazing. The hot tub was very much enjoyed. We didnt realise we needed to state we needed a travel cot before arriving but the team was very accommodating at sorting this out for us. And we had one within the hour very thankful for there cooperation The only thing I would fault is having no hand wash in the bathrooms and the wifi wasnt the best. We didnt manage to connect to the wifi stated in the description. There is night time entertainment advertised but when we went nothing was on. On a camp site like this you definitely need some form of entertainment specially for the children. Other than this we had an awesome time and wont stop us from booking it again.
Sadly one shower not working and with 6 of us this was a little challenging . Cutlery and some glasses were dirty Few wine glasses and one cracked . Bathroom fan ran through the night which was quite noisy .
Christina
Property needs some tlc tender loving care. Broken taps, blinds, armchair, deck chairs broke on roof and in need of a touch up all rotting arm rests. And WiFi was listed as a feature in this lodge but no WiFi available the whole stay. Such a shame cos its a quirky little lodge but think its in need of repairs and updating now.
A large lodge with everything you could need. We liked the rooftop space. We would definitely recommend this lodge
Tiffany
Lovely lodge. No bbq but had all the utensils for one. No instructions about the hottub
On arrival, the lodge was lovely and clean, had a problem with wasps nest on ... On arrival, the lodge was lovely and clean, had a problem with wasps nest on first day rang office and they came within an hour, told me they would call pest control, pest control came 2 hours later and problem was sorted, great customer service, this lodge is perfect for 6 adult very spacious, comfortable all beds are full size, would book this lodge again if available,
Sophie
The lodge itself was amazing we absolutely loved it. The lodge was lovely for us going into it, there is areas which could have been cleaner but thats if you were to be really picky with it which we werent. I couldnt give a downside with the lodge the only thing about our stay was the complex on site, I didnt find the staff as helpful as they could have been in situations that was their error not ours. Overall I would 100 come back my only regret is not being able to stay for longer.
Was lovely had everything we needed its a beautiful place little disappointed having to get having to be out the hot tub by 10. 30 pm and having a little trouble getting some clothes back that I had left other than that I be very happy to rebook and would recomed
Great location of lodge close to restaurant and bar and harbour very well equipped with everything you need very clean only things that let it down was the poor wifi cutting on and off the dogs in neighbouring lodges barking and the curtains in the Main bedroom which don't stop any light coming in! But would definitely stay again as only minor things!
The lodge is extremely cosy and made us feel at home. Lots of extra things provided I.e. teabags and dishwasher tablets etc which we did not expect. It was really easy to find and everything inside the resort is well sign posted. Only downfall is that it did not say anywhere that there is a 1030 Curfew on the hot tub, this is a bit early and not ideal when the earliest you can check in is 4pm. Not sure what the difference is when you could be sitting out on the patio beside the hot tub to whatever time. Other than this the stay was great.
Kimberley
This is a very spacious and comfortable Lodge with a fantastic hot tub, good location and comfortable beds , but unfortunately the cleanliness let it down . Headboards in bedrooms thick with dust , dirty crockery and hob . All the cupboard doors were dirty. Stained bedding, I could go on . The whole lodge needs a deep clean. Ive never stayed in a lodge booked with LDLH before that hasnt been spotlessly clean, I can only hope this isnt a sign of things to come now that Sykes have taken over.

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 4 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 10 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 15 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 18 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 22 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 23 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
