Easedale Lodge Reviews

First of all, the lodge was lovely the position was good, hot tub was amazing. The downside, dirty cutlery, plates, cups, glasses, one was chipped and cracked, cigarette burns on sofa, cigarette stubs in plants pots on decking, cigarette ash on decking, pizza tray needs putting in the bin it was disgusting, the drains absolutely stunk to high heaven. The hoover was full and had not been emptied, which we had to do as well as wash everything, the oven was filthy.
Patrick
Amazing lodge with everything you need to feel like home. Very warm and comfortable atmosphere once you walk in and instantly feel relaxed. Facilities is all there, very comfy double sofas, beds were comfortable, bathrooms were very nice. However, bedroom 3 had issues opening the door completely as it was rubbing against the carpet really bad, so was bit difficult going in and out of the bedroom. Other than that, all brilliant. Hot tub was amazing and had really good privacy unlike some lodges is very open, had maintenance guy that came every morning to check the levels too. Lodge located not far from the reception and probably 5 minute walk to the lake which was nice. 7 minute drive to BownessOnWindermere. So its very convenient location at White Cross Bay. Lodge interior is very modern decor, had handy man came to fix an issue with the bathroom shower head and that was instantly solved, very quick service. Very happy to have stayed at this lodge, will definitely rebook this lodge in the future again!! Highly recommended!!

The lodge was lovely but it was a shame of all the cobwebs we found, and a Leck from one of the lights in the lounge was a bit dangerous when raining, wasn't sure if that's what tripped the circuit or cause of we had the cooker, the microwave, the washing machine on all together, but after seeing the drip in the ceiling lights we decided to not put them on.
Loads of potential. Was really looking forward to our holiday and was impressed with the site, facilities and the lodge. Our holiday was ruined by the boiler breaking on Saturday afternoon and no communication until Sunday afternoon. We ended up leaving a day earlier as no hot water or heating. Holiday was ruined. However the lodge is stunning. Just a shame the boiler breaking ruined it for us personally
Beautiful property in the perfect location. Showing signs of wear and tear Not the cleanest on arrival kitchen area. Facilities great would have liked to sit by the open fire as alot quieter room than boathouse but unfortunately just for owners. Hot tub was lovely and hot decking very slippy. This lodge needs its own WIFI the onsite wifi was terrible. Overall we had a lovely stay visited zip world took a bus to grassmere Ambleside and dungeon gryll. We took are own Kyak and made the most of the lake!
Rachel
Overall it was a good lodge. Plenty of space for a family of 6, the beds are very comfy. The location is nice, tucked away. The hot tub is very private. It is a tad run down, with a few areas of showing wear and age, particularly in the bathrooms, around the windows, these could do with being dealt with. On the whole these signs of wear didnt detract of the lodge being very comfortable and cosy. We had a great stay there.
Samantha
Great lodge. Comfortable and really well equipped. Lovely sun trap on the decking and the hot tub is amazing
We had a wonderful week in Easdale Lodge for the 2nd year in a row. Great Location in a quiet cul de sac. The lodge has everything you could need plenty of cups, plates, glasses etc. Hot tub was fabulous and checked every day. Would highly recommend this lodge we are gutted that it is already booked for next year.
Lodge was lovely every thing was there that needed highly recommend.
Easedale Lodge was a lovely property, well furnished and a good size. We had a great time staying there, which could have been enhanced by two points. The directions to the lodge itself were poor and it took a long time to find, a site map would have helped, and there was no where to BBQ. Although a gas BBQ was there, there was no gas canister. If w had know we would have bought our own small canister.
Beautiful lodge which has the perfect location . Just a couple of issues which have been shared in previous reviews , but unfortunately not been resolved . Doors in bathroom and en suite need attention , dont close properly and stick Kitchen tap is dripping and the drains smell from the sink Apart from the above , we loved our stay and would recommend to anyone
The property was clean and well presented and we had a lovely time there. My only criticism was the leaky cold tap on the kitchen sink and the door to the ensuite did not open and close properly but other than that it was very good
Having stayed at white Cross with family over 5 times and being very familiar with this particular lodge, I can honestly say it must be one of the best pitches on the site. The sun, when it shines, shines on this lodge 12 hours a day on a large decking. Its located in a very quiet cul de sac and isnt overlooked. The interior has been modernised since our last stay, and is lovely. Very spacious, very clean and everything you could need is there. Well definitely be back.
Angela
Easedale is a lovely lodge and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Very clean and everything in good working order. Would definitely recommend. As others have mentioned, the ensuite bathroom door sticks midway opening, so I reported that for attention after we left. Hopefully that will now get sorted out.
This is the second time I have stayed In this lodge with friends, and again we have had the most fantastic time and made amazing memories. The lodge was spotless and clean, very very comfy with lots of amenities. The hot tub was lovely and warm and again very clean. Location is perfect for everything, swimming pool etc and surrounding area very clean and tranquil. Perfect holiday home.
Cheryl
Beautiful and resembles the listing perfectly. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Having stayed at many different lodges on this park, Easedale is now one of my favourites! Comfy beds, large well maintained hot tub, lodge is spacious and roomy. Outdoor areas are large too with big comfortable seating area and privacy screening round the tub. Well appointed with all kitchen utensils and towels, TV in master bedroom and lots of wardrobe space. Very aesthetically pleasing too! Felt right at home! Only minor considerations As another guest has mentioned, both bathroom doors need looking at. One doesnt lock well and one needs shaving at the bottom as it gets stuck mid way. Freezer door doesnt close properly which causes the drawers to either defrost or freeze up altogether. All cooker settings have rubbed off. Had to find instruction manual and guess which was which. No dishwasher instructions. These didnt take away at all from the lovely stay we had however and will not put us off becoming a returning guest!!! Thank you!
Weve just had a lovely 3 night stay at the lodge. Its in a lovely setting and was very clean, tidy and spacious. The hot tub was great and was checked by staff each day, and as we were leaving it was emptied and refilled which was good to see. We had a very nice meal at the club house , a bit pricey but lovely food. we would definitely stay at the lodge again. The only thing that was not very good was both the bathroom doors were not a good fit, the ensuite door wouldnt open properly and the other bathroom door didnt shut easily, also the radiator in the ensuite had a slight leak. Non of this was a problem though, we had a great time thanks.
To start 1. I was informed by email to contact you with regards the code for the barrier!!! The email contained 3 different phone numbers, one for for the Reception which was an automated service and gave no option to speak to anyone. Another was for the out of hours team, no answer on that number. The third was to Lake District Lodge Holidays, who didn't have a clue what I was talking about. The young lady Jessica, informed me that she would contact the Park and then get back to me, well I am still waiting for that call back, even though I rang LDLH twice!! and promised a call back on both occasions, and speaking to the same person, still no call back! Only to find that when we arrived at the Park, the barriers where up and no code was needed, so what a carry on for no reason. 2. Upon arrival the lodge seemed immaculate, but upon going to use the freezer, we found the freezer to require defrosting, only one drawer out of 3 could be opened, and all three drawers had something in them from previous occupants, including 2 bags of opened ice cubes. 3. There is no information about the lodge held within the lodge, local information or anything else, which would have been useful. 4. There is a Wifi code displayed in the lodge in a picture frame, but once connected there is no WifiBroadband what so ever, it does not connect to the internet. Yes the Signal is bad there for mobile, but to to have absolutely no Wifibroadband when advertised as having it is terrible these days. 5. On Saturday morning the Electricity went off at 920am, which meant breakfast couldn't be cooked as we couldn't use the cooker, we couldn't wash or shower as there was no hot water. We couldn't use the hot tub, no TV etc etc.... We had a meal planned for my wife as it was her birthday at Lunchtime, which we couldn't go to as we couldn't get ready to go. The electricity came back on at 230pm. The lodge itself is very nice, but could do with the utensils and frying pans renewing. There was a fast era of knives and fork...and only 2 Tea Spoons!! which we found pretty bizarre. This was supposed to be a surprise weekend away for my wife and friends to celebrate her birthday, instead it was a bit of a nightmare. We are not the sort of people to complain but if you don't know how can you provide a service to the standards you are advertising. It states in the terms and conditions that a complaint should be directed to the lodge owner!! Who is the lodge owner? Where are there contact details?
An absolute pleasure to have stayed in this luxurious lodge. So close to everything.
Sharon
Id like to start by saying weve had a great time at the site despite the weather, the kids enjoyed the swimming and the hot tub was a great bonus to relax in the evening and the rain didnt affect the experience. There are some defects with the cabin and it wasnt left as clean as one would have hoped but, nothing too bad. The biggest disappointment was the attitude of some of the staff in the club and the fact that there was a limited amount of stock on both food & beverages and the excuse given was due to closing in a few days which I find unacceptable given we had paid for the full experience? In summary, despite the minor negative points, we would recommend this site and would hope to experience the facilities again in the summer.
Great position close to everything, the lodge it's self could do with a deep clean dirty under sofas and shower room had hair in the sink windows on patio doors dirty. clean towels and bedding. We had a issue with the oven on xmas day plug starting to get really hot and turning black so had to send xmas meat to be cooked at my son's lodge reported it on boxing day and was fixed the same day .
Tracey
We've just returned from another wonderful weekend stay at this lodge. The lodge is incredibly comfortable and well equipped the only thing that lets it down is the very poor wifi, leading to frustrated kids but I would still recommend the lodge to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday in perfect surroundings. Maybe it could be looked into to see if there is any way to improve the wifi but all in all another great stay at Easdale Lodge
Excellent location & accommodation . Would book again.
Natalie
Property location is perfect right near the water front and the outside are with ... Property location is perfect right near the water front and the outside are with the hot tub and seating area is generous in size Apartment is fairly modern and has everything you need, overall its clean however for the amount it costs to hire the accommodation I do feel it could do with a deeper clean in between guests staying, for example underneath the sofas werent hoovered the oven trays on the bottom shelf need cleaning and the sofas need some stains removing etc, however I would come back but I would of recommended to friends had the apartment had more of a deep clean but overall our stay was comfortable and I would go back
Lovely lodge very cosy and comfortable, could have been cleaner, cobwebs, food splattered up the blinds in kitchen, food left in freezer and top draw frozen shut, dirty cutlery and dish in cupboard. Would have liked a welcome pack just an added touch to start your holiday. Overall a lovely lodge but would have been perfect if cleanliness was better.
We had a great stay at this lodge, it has all modern home comforts, tastefully decorated and is spacious inside and out, with a large furnished decking area, where we spent our meal times in the lovely sunshine and in the evenings. We were lucky enough to have warm sunny weather! It is a 5 minute stroll to the lake shore marina through the site and there is a wooded area for dog walking. The location is between Bowness and Ambleside and we were able to kayak to both as well as across the lake to the West shore. The following comment is a negative for the site not the lodge itself but it did impact our stay at times The reason we didnt give full marks is due to the construction noise going on directly behind the lodge, which was unexpected and spoilt the beautiful surroundings. It was so peaceful when they werent working and so it has not put us off returning as everything else was perfect and hopefully next time we come, that particular plot will have been finished. Oh and of course, the hot tub is a wonderful addition, to relax in after a day of walking or paddling
All ok enjoyed our stay
Tracey
Fantstic lodge and a really enjoyable stay. The lodge is stunning and very well located, we will definitely be looking to book again in the future.
Jennifer
Perfect holiday home. We stayed with 2 teenagers, 1 child, 2 adults and 1 dog and had plenty of room. Lovely, welcoming home with everything you need. Perfectly located to explore with plenty of walks close by. Hot tub was a huge hit after long walks. Definitely would return for another holiday, we didnt want to leave.
Mathew
Amazing lodge, beautifully decorated and furnished, few doors don't shut or lock, expesically the back door onto the decking. Would love to book again in the summer but your not listed.
Nicole
We really enjoyed staying at this gorgeous Lodge it was well stocked with everything we needed. The rooms were lovely and cosy and the hot tub was great! The only 1 negative we had was that the tv channels didn't work and the itv player bbc player were very temperamental due to the Internet
Beltin 3day stay . Had everything we needed .thank you
Pamela
Absolutely gorgeous little property, so lovely, very comfortable, super clean, lovely facilities! ! Would highly recommend, will absolutely be back to book again!
Debbie
The lodge is lovely & has everything you need. The beds are very comfortable too. Just a few problems though. Internet signal for the TV was really bad, due to the poor park WiFi. The washing machine was full of water and wouldn't drain. The freezer needed defrosting & was dirty. The bath plug wouldn't stay in to hold the water for a bath. The hot tub had loads of dirt at the bottom of it & also the floor around the hot tub was really dirty too. and very Slippy. The parking at the back is awkward due to a huge rock next to the allocated parking for easier access via the ramp. This is more of a fault of the park though. Also, the location of the lodge felt very cramped, like too many lodges had been squeezed into a small space. WiFi on the park is a problem, it is hit & miss if you get a signal. This is something I discovered a lot of guests at this park had no matter where you stayed on the park. Really needs looking into. The restaurant is expensive for what you get. The shop doesn't have that much & was without milk for the last 2 days of our 4night break. So, you're best going to the local spar for what you need. This is a dog friendly park but there isn't many pet waste bins around the park.
We had a really nice weekend the only criticism we had was the hot tub wasn't very good the jets weren't very powerful so there wasn't many bubbles and the hot tub was the main reason for booking the lodge. The lodge itself is very nice and well equipped very near to the reception area and carpark and a short walk to the marina. We got taxi into Bowness on Windermere which reception booked for us but there are also regular buses with the bus stop very nearby
Location was perfect, as for clean it was ok, we had to wipe everything down due ... Location was perfect, as for clean it was ok, we had to wipe everything down due to all the figure marks on all kitchen cupboards and tables obviously not cleaned between checkout and checkin
We had a fantastic stay at the lodge. It was a perfect setting and the weather was great so we made good use of the hot tub and decking area. We will definitely be back to stay in this lodge we had a fantastic time. The only down fall was the neighbours children were awake at 7am noisily outside playing every morning

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 4 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 10 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 15 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 18 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 22 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 23 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
