Troutbeck Lodge Reviews

Nicole
Had a lovely stay here for a week, would definitely come back. Thank you
Absolutely loved where accommodation was and will book this lodge again. Only a few things that could have been better was the cleaning of the property, shower in en suite was quite grubby and was leaking, towel rails was dusty and so was skirting in both bathrooms. The whole place just needs a good hoover, I hoovered before we left.
Michelle
The lodge is in a beautiful location and could not fault the outlook however the lodge inside is filthy. The ensuite bathroom needed a deep clean. It had a toilet brush holder with faeces and the shower was full of dirt and mildew. The cutlery still had food on it. The plates were chipped. The floor was filthy. It really affected our stay and needed the feedback
Absolutely brilliant. Wonderful place to stay, Lodge had everything, great location, and the hot tub
Steven
The location of this property is stunning, not really overlooked and right on the beck. The deck was large and the hot tub was great to have, especially after a long day walking. Inside the lodge was clean and tidy with everything that you needed. The only points I felt that could be improved given the amount you are paying is the quality of some of the utensils which were worn and the kettle toaster. The kettle would not stay on and kept switching off until you found out the knack! The toaster was very poor and has certainly seen better days. The site itself is really lovely. There are great walks from the site if you go to the pub and start behind there. The dog field was brilliant especially when the fighter jets went over.
Louise
Great lodge, absolutely loved our stay here
Tracey
Just returned from this lovely Lodge. Everything was spotless when we arrived and set in such a beautiful tranquil spot. Added bonus was the hot tub which was much needed after the high temperatures we had. The pub on site was great and food excellent. We were very central to most places and had a great 5 days.
Rachel
This property is absolutely lovely and in a gorgeous location so we will definitely be back. Just a couple of issues ... the shower cubicle in the main bedroom needs a deep clean, one of the steps leading to the property is broken and is really quite hazardous and when I removed our bedding when we left the under sheet was absolutely disgusting with other people's mess on it!!
Cheryl
Lovely lodge has everything you need and the hot tub was brilliant
Nicola
The place was exactly as described, very clean and a lovely place to stay for the weekend, we had a lovely time and would definitely recommend to others. We will be back again I'm sure. Thank you for a lovely stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at Troutbeck Lodge. The hot tub was wonderful and a lovely treat after walking. The bed was really comfy. The location of the lodge was great, overlooking the beck and a field. However, it really needs a good clean. I had to clean the patio doors on arrival as they were badly smeared. I then had to wipe someone elses hairs off the toilet seat before using and as for the toilet brushes, well they just need replacing. The heaters all need a vacuum cleaner using, to take off the layers of very visible dust inside them. The ensuite shower cubicle needs refreshing. The cleaning element is a shame as the park was really quiet in March and we did enjoy our stay. There just needs to be more attention to detail rather than a quick whizz around, which is how it appeared to us. One final note the steps down to the lodge from the parking are in need of repair and are very uneven. Unfortunately for me I had to carry our elderly dog up and down each time and I would not advise anyone doing this.
Troutbeck Lodge did not disappoint! The owners have thought of everything! Well stocked kitchen and in the cupboard in the main bedroom we found a hoover, mop, iron and hairdryer. Fantastic location with stunning views overlooking the beck with snow capped mountains in the distance. STUNNING! Great amenities on site, our dogs enjoyed playing in the dog field although it was a shame it wasnt as secure as it couldve been with fences down and gaps under the gate. If you love wildlife and birdwatching you will love it here the lodge was the perfect spot for relaxing and watching the birds. We also saw deer nearby. The hot tub was a wonderful addition to the lodge. One small criticism would be there is no handrail down the steps to the lodge. We arrived in the dark and in the rain and we found the slate steps a little slippery. We would definitely return, thank you! 5 stars from us!
Lovely lodge with really comfy king size bed which you dont often get in lodges. Very picturesque setting. Pub on site serves decent food. Queens Head in Troutbeck is even better.
This is our 3rd stay on this site. On arrival we were very dissapointed with the cleaning of the lodge I had brought dettol wipes which was a good job. Things like handles and kitchen work tops all key areas were not that clean. Then in the main bedroom the bedding had stains and footprints on! I did ring the number provided and this was replaced the next morning. However who would put that on there in the 1st place thinking it wouldn't be noticed or was acceptable! Anyways after that we had a lovely relaxing week. Mixed bag of weather but still able to do some of our favourite walks and even managed to shelter in the near by pubs a couple of times. The Queens is a gorgeous pub with a really warm friendly feel and the food is amazing. The lodge itself is in a lovely quiet spot, it has everything inc a bottle opener, tin opener, saw an iron lol. The hot tub was checked every day and was lovely after a soggy walk.
Such a fantastic week we had here so much so we booked it again for next year before we had even left. Hot tub, lodge facilities and location all fantastic! Grateful for plentiful cleaning supplies provided so helpful in keeping the lodge clean and tidy. Cleaners could do with doing all the high ceilings and corners of bedrooms etc for the odd cobweb that type of thing but that really is being picky overall it was very clean and homely. Cant wait to be back!
What a beautiful lodge. Very clean and modern. We've stayed at Limefitt a few times and this is by far the best lodge we've stayed in. Great position, next to the Beck. Gets sun all day long on the deck when its sunny! and its so relaxing sitting with the patio doors open listening to the water. Large fridgefreezer, plenty of storage space for our food, lots of crockery and cutlery and its own wifi router which is very important because wifi is poor generally around the park. We would definitely stay again.
Lovely cosy lodge in perfect location over looking fields & beck ,good spacious outdoor area with large hot tub. We had a relaxing holiday listening to the beck & would recommend.
Jonathan

Perfect everything up to standards. Would stay there again. Cannot fault it at all

Perfect everything up to standards. Would stay there again. Cannot fault it at all
A beautuful property in a beautuful location. Everything you needed in the lodge. Site was nice a quiet in stunning surroundings.
Lovely stay in an excellent lodge in a great location. Dedicated WiFi was a bonus. Only thing that could have made our stay better would have been a parasol to give a bit of shade on the decking.
Fantastic stay. Thank you
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Troutbeck Lodge ! The accommodation was clean and comfortable and provided everything we needed. We loved the location nestled by the side of the Beck, it was so peaceful and quiet with everything we needed for a relaxing weekend away. Being lucky enough to have amazing weather, having a Hot Tub was a bonus !we loved making full use of the outdoor seating area. The scenery around the site is stunning. Plenty of areas to push a new baby in a pram and walk the dogs. Cant wait to visit again.
Simone
An absolutely stunning lodge in a great location! Definitely one of the nicest lodges on Limefitt and the stream right outside made for a stunning setting. The lodge was beautifully facilitated with a really comfortable sofa and an even more comfortable bed. The lodge was cleaned to a high standard with pretty much all you needed for your stay. The hot tub was perfect, and cleaned and maintained daily. We would return in a heartbeat! Thank you
Stunning location & lodge. Everything you need in the lodge etc. Beds really comfy! Hot tub was lovely. Obviously its a pet friendly lodge but I do think it could have been cleaned a little better before we arrived there was black dog hair everywhere ,all over the sofa even on the hob of the cooker thats the only thing that let it down for us. But we would definitely stay again.
Olivia
Will definitely return, perfect location, perfect layout, kitchen fully stocked with utensils and plates making for easy use. Overall an amazing week!
Adrian
Fantastic weeks stay. Spotlessly clean on arrival. Hot tub well maintained. Lots of equipment for catering. Beautiful location. The perfect weeks holiday
Kristy
Took my little girl to troutbeck lodge and we loved every minute of it, the lodge is absolutely beautiful and homely, and in such a gorgeous place. She absolutely loved the hot tub, and the gorgeous stream flowing by the side is a bonus. We will most definitely be visiting again can not put into words what a gorgeous lodge and place it is. Thanks so much for an amazing little break.
Lovely lodge immaculate condition and smelt lovely! Close to all park ammentities. Great location at the side of the stream, very peaceful and remote but still easily accessible to WindermereAmbleside. Very cosy and the hot tub just topped it off. Will be back without a doubt. Thank you!
We have stayed in numerous lodges across Limefitt Park, Fallbarrow Park & Whitecross Bay, and can safely say this is one of the best lodges we have had the pleasure to stay in. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, adequately equipped and with the added bonus of the hot tub and its prime spot on the edge of the beck it made this break away really special. We would definitely recommend a visit to Troutbeck Lodge! Thank you, we hope to visit again as soon as we can.
Very lovely stay at Troutbeck, 3rd time at Limefitt park and by far the best lodge with the most amazing views out onto the lake. The lodge had everything we needed and a very cosy home from home and our little dogs first time in the Lake District. The only grumble we had was that the hot tub wasnt at full temperature for us on the first night, we asked the hot tub maintenance man regarding this and he said it takes a good few hours for it to heat up from being filled. I feel like at 8pm at night from check in at 4 the hot tub should of been hot enough for us so we had to get out as with the rain 34 degrees wasnt warm enough so we missed out on a night in the tub but the other two nights were perfect Will definitely be back as soon as we can!
It was a lovely lodge, very happy that it was right alongside the beck! Took great pleasure in the hot tub, despite some of the rainy weather. Utensils and other facilities, vacuum cleaner and brooms appreciated, good supply of towels. My dogs , er, and I much appreciated the warm water hose after our walks. Only disappointment was some stained bedding and cushions in the small bedroom, and the sofa scatter cushions losing their feathers . Would love to return for a stay in the warmer weather too.!
A fantastic birthday stay at Troutbeck lodge. Beautiful inside and outside, loved the visits from the robins. Everything you needed was there. Well maintained and very clean on arrival, the hot tub was lovely even in the snow. The walks around the site were stunning, a visit to the onsite pub was very welcoming. I would definitely recommend a stay here.
Absolutely beautiful place to stay so relaxing warm and Cosy and the Christmas touches amazing so nice and thoughtful will definitely be back.
We had a lovely weeklong break at Troutbeck Lodge. The lodge itself is beautiful and the aspect looking over the river is second to none. Everything has been thought of and all of the facilities are just what we needed. The dogs loved being so close to so many walks and there is plenty to do even if the weather isn't on your side. We really loved having the hot tub to get into after a long day of hiking and it always felt clean and maintained. Mandy at The Haybarn Inn couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommended!
Norman
Lovely property, great location, this is the fourth time weve stayed on limefitt park. This is the best property so far, would definitely come back.
Beautiful location and scenery with the balcony looking over the river. Woke up to horses right across the stream on our first morning. The lodge smelt amazing when we first walked in. Hot tub was lovely. Had a fantastic time the dog also loved it and we do not have a bad word to say!
Annmarie
Second time at the lodge and loved it. Clean, warm and comfortable. Fantastic location. Will definitely be coming back

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 3 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 8 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 16 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 20 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 22 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 23 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
