11 Lake View Reviews

What an amazing cottage, we had the best wedding anniversary ever, and look forward to booking again for next year. So comfortable and spacious great view the list of greats go on and on. Thank you for an amazing stay The Johnson's 16092024
Our holiday at Lake veiw was exceptional, we had every amenity available to us. It was a superbly clean, cosy peaceful and the king size bed was so comfortable. The restaurant at the Old Mill was gorgeous and the food was amazing. The actual site is so peaceful and we had a few beautiful walks into the small village of Lanreath. Cant fault this amazing place will definitely be returning!!! Jane Hemingway
This is a lovely site, very quiet and peaceful. Our lodge was lovely, it was very well equipped and had everything we needed. We tried the on site restaurant and it was really good. We had a lovely break and returned home feeling very refreshed.

Wow... what a fabulous place Stonerush Lakes is. 70 odd lodges spread over 28 acres and 3 large lakes yet you have plenry of privacy and seclusion due to the placing of the accommodation. We spent a week there and only saw other guests when eating at the onsite restaurant 'The Old Mill.' We couldn't fault 11 Lake View, you have everything you need for a great stay and the two meals in the restaurant were fab. We turned up on the Wednesday evening thinking we wouldn't need to book and it was busy. The lovely chap who runs front of house said we could wait half an hour or so, so we sat at an outside table on the decking next to one of the lakes with a drink and just enjoyed the evening. Definitely worth prebooking though. Communication before our stay from Sally was first class and the welcome from Laney on the day we arrived was lovely. On our way down in the car she noticed we had a child on the booking so rang to ask if we needed the cot making up however as our daughter is 17 we politely declined! Our week spent in Cornwall was great from start to finish. You're ideally placed to visit beaches and attractions not only along the south coast of the county but also those in the north, St Ives is just over an hour's drive. I would have no hesitation in recommending Stonerush Lakes and 11 Lake View and we look forward to staying in one of the other parks owned by Charter Oak.
Ideally placed within the park with an elevated view towards the lake. Well equipped to cater with 4 occupants in comfort. The large TV worked well but we are more music orientated and a bluetooth speaker would be a nice addition. The robes were a nice touch but there were only two. Not sure if this was because there were only two of us so may be it's not an issue. Also on one of the photo's there is a pod type coffee machine so we took pods. Unfortunately it is no longer there. Out side the hot tub was certainly the star attraction and well used. If I was ultra critical I might say that the decking area could do with a bit of a spruce up and I don't expect to clean accumulated weather related mould off of furniture before I use it. This didn't detract from the overall brilliant stay in a beautiful and peaceful setting. I'm sure we'll book here again.

Lovely lodge very comfortable for me and my family 2 kids 7 and 9. Within 30 mins can reach over 10 beaches and Looe, Fowey and Polperro. We were right be the entrance to the park and it was very quiet. Hot tub on balcony was well used daily and beds were comfortable. We dod not miss the lack of TV channels some Aerial problem saw baby foxes, rare birds and other wildlife which was a great.
Lovely stay as allways , but lack of TV channels the only issue this time as none worked properly.
Accommodation was excellent however we had issues with the TVs. The tvs were not able to access free sat and the only App that worked was bbc Iplayer as we did not have account to access the other ones itvx for eg. The park maintenance did try to resolve the issue but were unable to do so and did mention we werent the first occupants of this lodge who had this issue. There were no issues when we previously visited 18mths or so ago.
What can I say besides an absolutely amazing stay at 11 Lake View in Stonerush Lakes. I had some conversations with the team at Stonerush as the trip was for my dad's birthday, and they went above and beyond. When we arrived we found Prosecco, Balloons and a handwritten card in the lodge on our arrival, we also visited the Old Mill and Sally who is lovely came up and hugged us all to welcome us, it made our trip feel really special. Stonerush Lakes is beautiful and quiet, while there are a lot of lodges there, it never feels that way, the way they've set it up, it feels incredibly private and extremely peaceful. In the day all you hear are birds chirping and due to minimal light pollution, at night you get to see all the stars. The lodge itself is beautiful and really big, the pictures do not do it justice and it has everything you need for a great time away. You can tell they've put thought into making it a lovely place to stay and little touches like fresh milk being in the fridge when you arrive, a welcome box with coffee, tea, biscuits, extra bin bags, washing up liquid etc are a nice touch. The living room and both bedrooms have a beautiful view down to the lakes, and when you're sitting in bed or on the sofa you just see hills, trees and the lake. The beds and pillows were great also, we all had a lovely night's sleep every night. Even though there are no pictures of the hot tub, it could easily fit 5 people. It's set just off the living roomdining room and very well hidden from view with hangers outside for robestowels. I was worried being so close to the entrance it would be noisy, but I didn't hear a soul or car the entire 6 days of our trip. The lodge is set back and down from the road that leads down into the site, with 3 sides fully hidden away from view and a private driveway that can fit two cars. I can't say anything except for positive things, I would return in a heartbeat and we were all very sad to leave.
We had a lovely week in the log cabin it was beautiful nice and clean and we ... We had a lovely week in the log cabin it was beautiful nice and clean and we will be going again next year we'll worth the money it was lovely x
This is our second time at Stonerush Lakes, we have just returned after a week in the lodge, had a lovely time, lodge was clean and spacious. The staff at the old mill was so kind and helpful and the new refurbished restaurant looks very nice. Will definitely be returning agin to Stonerush Lakes.
We had an incredible stay. This was our honeymoon so were so happy that our two weeks at Stonerush Lakes were perfect. The lodge blew us away. The site was so quiet, all we heard for two weeks was birdsong and the occasional sheep. The pictures and site map dont do justice to how big and spacious the lodge is and how tucked away from the other lodges it is. Hot tub was great the the outside decking was huge, perfect for enjoying the sun all day through. Will definitely be back again.
Hilary
A beautiful property, well maintained and equipped. Set in the most gorgeous, peaceful setting. Would definitely reccomend.
Andrew
We loved the accommodation. lovely peaceful surroundings and everything we needed for our stay.
This was our third time staying at stonerush lakes, was the first time at this particular lodge & everything about this lodge & the setup was excellent. Also excellent staff & food at the mill
Nicola
Another pleasant stay in 11 Lakeview everything you need for a nice relaxing holiday. You can totally unwind using the hot tub and listening to and watching the wildlife.
This is the quietest place we have ever stayed! The only sound is birdsong. We were the only people at lunch in the pubrestaurant and although everywhere was fully booked we didn't see a soul! A con is that Heligan is a good hour's drive away and Eden Project 40 mins. But having said that, we had some lovely coast path walks and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in this beautiful part of Cornwall in spite of mediocre weather. The Lodge is very comfortable and well equipped, the beds are comfortable and there are walks in the immediate vicinity. Certainly a good place to relax but not suitable for children don't think because there are lakes that there are water sports!
What can I say but WOW, absolutely beautiful lodge,a great break and I shall be returning, this lodge is a gem nestled in beautiful Cornish country side, perfectly sited overlooking the lake, great views of the lake from lounge, bedrooms . ..thankyou sykes and charteroak.
Lovely break and so quiet with great views of the lake
Louise
We had a fabulous week the lodge was great and very private. It was just what was needed to unwind and recharge! The hot tub and aircon were great additions, as well as the welcome pack thank you! We had a couple of meals at The Old Mill onsite restaurant and would definitely recommend. To make the lodge even better, extra time cleaning the ensuite bathroom and the decking area the glass panels would give it a 5 rating from us. Otherwise we had a brilliant week and would love to return.
This is our second visit to Stonerush Lakes, its a tranquil beautiful escape to relax and wind down, our lodge had all the home comforts anyone could need, if theres anything to comment on it would have to be the glass panels all around the deck and the glass gate both of which were covered in green algae and needed cleaning it really felt dirty youd not want a photo on the deck as it looked dirty. Will definitely be coming back.
This is the second year we have stayed in this lodge. On each occasion we have stayed for three weeks. We can honestly say it was a delight to be in such a beautiful lodge in such a beautiful setting. If you want a peaceful holiday this is the place. Access is winding through typical Cornish roads tarmac ditches which you get used to but also adds to the tranquility of the site. My wife Janet has a disability which makes sleeping in a bed very difficult. The electric reclining sofas are excellent ,perfect condition and exceptionally comfortable. This feature firstly attracted our attention and everything else was a bonus. Would also like to mention Christine in reception who checked the sofas for us as this is so important for my wifes stay. Hoping to be back next year for our third stay Janet and Janet Smith

We have stayed in stone rush twice before in different properties but this was ... We have stayed in stone rush twice before in different properties but this was our best stay by far this lodge is very comfortable well equipped light , plenty of doors to open to enjoy the amazing views the decked areas was great the hot tub a great size everything was well maintained, small things like reclining sofas makes like home and a pint of milk in fridge good touch ,great to have air conditioning in bedroom a must and robes to put on when getting out of hot tub , we will definitely stay here again thank you
Lovely property in beautiful setting. Could have been cleaner in kitchen and lounge area. Info folder was for your sister park up the road!!!! Tv remote in bedroom didnt work.
Nicola
Fantastic Lodge, homely and comfortable this didn't disappoint. Lodge was lovely and clean and the welcome pack was a lovely added touch. The wildlife at Stonerush did not disappoint having the hot tub is always a good place to unwind. We stay every year at Stonerush and will certainly look to book this lodge again in the future.
The lodge is really nicely decorated and well equipped, we found we had everything that we needed in the kitchen, comfortable beds & sofa, lovely fluffy towels and handy dressing gowns. Small toiletry pack and kitchen pack were also a nice touch. The site is extremely quiet, we enjoyed visits on the balcony from geese, birds and squirrels. Slightly let down by a few things that could easily be rectified green algae on the glass around the balcony and entrance gate, lots of cobwebs around the front door and inside on a high skylight, crumbs left in the biscuit container. The biggest let down was the hot tub. It was one of the main reasons that we booked the accommodation but after 3 days usage the water was very cloudy, produced foam when we put the bubbles on and smelt. We asked for it to be checked twice we were told it was, but nothing was done about it. So whilst it may have been checked and it was safe, it just wasnt nice to sit in & the brochure clearly says to let them know if anything isnt right, so disappointed that nothing was done about it.
Lovely lodge on a quiet site. After checking in we found a couple of small issues in the lodge, i told reception and they were resolved almost immediately without question, great service and nice lodge. The restaurant on site was only partly open due to staff numbers or something so we had to eat in the bar and not restaurant and this wasnt mentioned, no big deal. would recommend the site and lodge.
Stephanie
Just tried to book for October and November love your lodge stayed on both sites many times yours is by far the best If I had to critique it I would say the cleaning for such a beautiful lodge lets it down slightly I get it that the change over is a pressure I run my own cleaning company but I feel when u come to such a lovely lodge and the microwave is dirty and shower heads are blocked with limescale and theres cobwebs everywhere it takes the shine of the luxury .
Such a wonderful property! We had assumed that the pictures made it look bigger and nicer than it is but the opposite is true the pictures dont do it justice! It feels like the owner must spend time at the property lovely touches with the decor, well stocked kitchen with space for your own food etc, lovely hot tub and so much private outdoor space so 2 couples could easily stay and still have private space if they wish. The only extremely minor thing that was less than perfect was that the welcome pack was for the other Charteroak site that is a few miles away so the nearest amenities may not be correct. Very handy location for various tourist attractions we visited Eden Project, Bodmin moor, Jamaica Inn, Tintagel castle, and several beautiful fishing villages. The site is also lovely, the lodges are well spaced out and the onsite restaurant is good too. Otherwise a really lovely experience and we will be returning again specifically to 11 Lake View though Im sure other lodges on the site are lovely too!
A wonderful stay on Stonerush Lakes. Great location, nice and quiet site yet close enough to most places in Cornwall. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again in the near future
We stayed 1 lake view last year and 11 lake view this year and it was fantastic. a couple of small things that would have exceeded the expectations would have been a cot for our daughter and the tap in the kitchen started to leak quite badly. We will definitely be back to stay again!
Stephanie
I stay at stone rush lakes regularly I love it here first time in 11 lake view and I was not disappointed its a beautiful lodge plenty of parking and quite private little extras made life easier waste disposal air conditioning all kitchen items were quality makes and enough cutlery cups glasses plates etc just like home from home. .had a minor issue with hot tub but googled the problem to sort it however there was a dirty brown tide mark around the tub and the ensuite bathroom was very dusty also both heads of the shower were,nt working properly on inspection I found such a build up of limescale it was effecting the flow of water again I sorted thatmy biggest disappointment was the microwave was filthy it takes 3minutes to steam and wipe that out I know change overs are a rush for cleaning team but these little thing s make a difference when paying for a luxury lodge.one thing the site management need to take notice of is the limited hrs the restaurant is open this is the first yr I,ve not been able to use it as it was barely open I think the opening times change every time I come down to stone rush overall I had such a wonderful stay I,ve already booked my next stay.
Amanda
Our accommodation and the park were both very good . The accommodation was well equipped and clean and the park lovely and quiet . We all enjoyed our stay and would definitely return , we had a problem with a lack of water on our last day ,but we believe this problem has been addressed now
Caroline
There is one thing that we felt could be improved on. When you drive into the site there is a large sign that states 1011 Lake View with arrows, but they seem to send you in the wrong direction. When we eventually found where no 11 was there was the tiniest sign on the sleeper in the front garden and foot level so difficult to see! In you details you could advise that it is the first property on the right just down the hill! However apart from that the lodge was superb, even down to supplying robes for the hot hub which we made great use of. The kitchen could use a few more essentials such as a grater and scales for those of us who weigh our food! All that said we very much enjoyed our stay.
Serena
Very peaceful location and comfortable lodge. Hot tub fantastic.
Louise
Beautifully presented, clean, wonderful position, fantastic hot tub and bigger than it looks in the picture. Also very private. Delightful, relaxing stay.
