Chestnut Lodge Reviews

Emily
Honestly, we didn’t have high hopes, but it turned out to be quite a letdown. The lodge is nestled in a park that’s pretty rundown and not very inviting. The outside BBQ was rusty and unusableand the hot tub, while a nice touch, looked tired. Inside, the bedrooms and bathrooms are okay, but the en suite was full of insects and spiders-definitely not ideal, especially after my recent surgery when I slipped on the wet floor because there was no shower mat. Also, the place wasn’t very cleanand some of the cutlery looked dirty. Not the relaxing break we hoped for.
Emma
Comfortable stay, would recommend!

Great place to stay, loved the peace and room to relax in Dartmoor.
Emma
Honestly, this lodge exceeded our expectations. It’s really well priced for what you get - spacious, modernand thoughtfully kitted out, especially the kitchen which was better than ours at home! The hot tub was a lovely touchand we appreciated the friendly greeting on arrival. Perfect spot for exploring Exeter and Plymouth. We’d definitely come back!
Emma
Really cosy, spotless lodge with a warm vibe. Perfect base for Dartmoor adventures. We’d love to return!
Emma
We loved the cosy cabin, especially the hot tub and lovely views. Perfect for relaxing in the Devon countryside - definitely a peaceful escape we’d recommend!
Emma
We stayed at Chestnut Lodge and while it’s a decent spot, it definitely needs a thorough clean-up. There was a chip on one of the dining chairsand dog hair was everywhere on the sofa. Under the cushions, we found crumbs and glitter, which was a bit gross. The sofa itself is starting to sag a little. We also spotted spiders in the hallways and double bedroom, plus annoying flies buzzing around. Some appliances, like the fire remote and toaster, didn’t work properly. The traffic noise was constant, but the kitchen was well stocked. We’d consider returning, though!
Emma
The lodge was stunning with a fantastic setting. Everything we needed was thereand the hot tub was just what we needed after exploring Meldon. Definitely worth it!
Samwell
Overall, our stay was quite pleasant. The lodge itself matches the description online - cosy and in a lovely area. We did have some issues with the heating; it was cold at first, but luckily, we had hot water and mild weather, so it wasn't a big deal initially. When it got colder, we noticed the boiler was faulty and displayed a fault code. The plumber came quickly, managed a partial fixand we stayed warm enough for the last night. Still, it could’ve been better, but overall, it was a decent experience.
Emma
Really enjoyed our stay, the lodge was spotless and super comfy. Definitely recommend!

We stayed at this peaceful spot and really enjoyed it. The staff at reception were super friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. The lodge itself was lovely-cozy, spotlessand just what we needed. The park had a relaxed vibeand all the lodges looked really inviting. It was easy to explore, with quick access to the A30, making trips to Cornwall and Devon simple. We arrived during a mini heatwaveand honestly, we felt like we brought the sunshine with us! We’ll definitely be returning soon.

We had a lovely stay! The lodge was spotless and well-stocked, perfect for our family. Plenty of walks nearby and loads of attractions within an hour’s drive. The owners really know how to make guests feel welcome. Definitely recommend!
Emma
The cottage was okay overall, but the mattresses weren’t great. The jacuzzi being out of order for most of our stay was quite a letdown.
Hannah
We had such a lovely time, the hot tub was amazing and the place was really peaceful too.
Emma
Decent stay, nothing fancy
Emma Carter
The lodge really impressed us! Plenty of room and storage, plus the hot tub was such a treat. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a washing machine and dishwasher, which was super handy. We’d definitely stay again because the price is pretty good. Highly recommended!
Emma
The lodge was really lovely, spaciousand super cosy. Even though it’s near a main road, we couldn’t hear a thing which was great. The hot tub’s a good size tooand private - perfect for relaxing after a day out!
