In a picturesque lakeside setting in sought after North Devon is this delightful wooden cabin. Spacious and homely throughout, the open plan accommodation opens out onto a fantastic balcony overlooking the lake.

After a morning s fishing on one of the five lakes, explore this stunning part of Devon with its rugged coastline, charming fishing villages and sandy beaches. Perfect for entertaining, the ground floor accommodation is light and spacious.

Cook up delicious family meals in the well equipped kitchen area, before dining at the farmhouse table. Afterwards, sink into one of the invitingly plump sofas and settle in for an evening of TV or games with the family.

In the evenings, curtains create a cosy and intimate feel, while in the daytime, large double doors let the outside in and flood this room with natural light. Upstairs, the three bedrooms with their sloping ceilings are cosy and welcoming, including a bunk bedroom that is only suitable for children.

When the sun is shining, step outside onto the large balcony to enjoy your favourite tipple while listening to the sounds of the countryside. A walker s paradise, this 320 acre farm is home to picturesque woodland walks.

When you re not fishing for carp or roach on the lakes, venture into nearby Clovelly (2 miles) to stroll its ancient cobbled streets, watch the world go by in the harbour or sample local delicacies at one of its eateries. Or, venture a little further afield to Bude (16 miles), where you will find sandy beaches, a golf course, shops and eateries.

Other attractions include The Milky Way (1 mile) and Hartland Abbey (5.5 miles).

Exmoor Zoo is described as a "family zoo" on their website and it certainly makes a great day out for families.  There are many exotic and rare animals as well as birds to see which are living in natural surroundings.  Some recent improvements at the zoo include a new 5 metre tower at the cheetahs and raised walkways at the "beast".  There is also a new viewing platform over the sitatunga.  As well as the amazing animals to experience there are regular fun activities such as face painting, daily events and zoo trails.
