Valley Lodge 52 Reviews

Excellent place to stay. So homely and comfortable. Great base for visiting locally and further afield. Beautifully decorated and far superior anywhere we have stayed before. Hot tub was great after a long day out
Christopher
Really enjoyed staying in the lodge with all of the facilities of the park, especially the hot tub, table tennis, pool and the pub food. The park on lodge a highly recommended We were a bit disappointed that the games room closed early on a couple of occasions when we were told it was going to be open until 20.00 and was closed when we got there at 19.00..
Staff just kept walking in no knocking or any advance notice felt really unsafe ... Staff just kept walking in no knocking or any advance notice felt really unsafe couldn't leave the property for fear of people walking in so couldn't go out as a family
Comfy and in a good location for exploring the area. Facilities were adequate. The pool was clean and a good size to spend an hour or two in. Hot tub was a little dated and difficult to lift the lid. Not all the buttons worked but provided an excellent end to the day. Lodge no. 52's had a nice private feel to it with roses growing to aid privacy. Could not fault the owner's dedication to make the holiday a good one and the staff handymen who helped us were most excellent. All the family had a good break.
Andrew
Hot tub has slight leak and only has one jet so not very powerful. This was advised to maintenance. One of single beds near bathroom mattress can feel springs as does one near hottub.
Catherine
Ideal property and location for family holiday. We had a great stay. Thankyou
It was a really nice cottage, just a few things would make it perfect. 1. Towels for the hot tub we did bring our own but providing them would be easier 2. Provide more towels we were unlucky with the weather which made it really difficult to dry towels therefore maybe offering 2 towels per person would be better 3. Washing machine and drier again for the reasons above. I did go to the laundrette but it would be easier with a washing machine. Put it was a lovely cottage and the site is really nice.

Very calm and relaxing. Totally enjoyed our stay. Had an issue towards the end of our stay, Site manager was very responsive and offered alternative accommodation free of charge. Thank you.
Sundee
Great facilities everything you need from home to home absolutely stunning weather and just a all round brilliant holiday The swimming pools were a huge hit inside n outdoor pool. ...we couldn't fault anything this was our second time returning
Stephanie
We had a lovely stay at the property making memories. It was just what we hoped for. The location was good and was very peaceful. We loved the hot tub and enjoyed watching the squirrels. Everything we needed was there and when we needed maintenance, they were very helpful and quick to fix it. The lighting the lounge area was a bit on the dim side. We would stay here again.
Lovely week at beautiful Honicombe Holiday Park, on site Restaurant, Pub, Indoor and Outdoor pools are really good. Lodge was lovely but not quite as good as the photos on website especially the hot tub area however we had a great time and we would definitely go back to this holiday park again, lots of beautiful places to visit within a 3045 minute drive. A visit to Looe Beach is a must, we spent a lovely morning there.
Bernice
The property was basic but did the job. Kitchen tap was broken, and a drawer was broken, nothing major but things you'd like to be done for the expense of the property. Also the mattress in the double room was extremely soft. Generally a bit tired and little touches like batteries in remotes needed replacing. Plus points, we enjoyed the hot tub and it was a nice treat to be left scones, clotted cream and jam! Overall we a nice stay
Lovely nice and very good service we enjoyed in swimming pool outdoor and in ... Lovely nice and very good service we enjoyed in swimming pool outdoor and in door , well come back next year
Judith
We had a very enjoyable week. The lodge was very comfortable and well equipped and was spotless. We really enjoyed the hot tub after a day out which was checked and maintained daily. Any minor problems were dealt with immediately by the owner. Very good value for money and the on site pool was a bonus. The only observations that may help would be to list that there is a freezer as well as a fridge in the listing which would help and the contact numbers for the maintenance need updating. Thanks for a great holiday and look forward to coming back.

Andrea
Overall the lodge is in need of updating but we could see this from the photo when we booked, the things that would have improved are stay would be a better mattress on the double bed its like sleeping on a water bed with springs sticking through and a proper frying pan we have bought a cheap one and left it there for any future guests who love a holiday fry up as we do The really nice touches were the scones, clotted cream, the sweets on every bed and other little bits, although I was a little disappointed to find out that are family who booked a lodge through the site directly also got Prosecco instead of wine and some milk in the fridge as well. Although the maintenance staff were very accommodating it was so hot when we got there so we asked if we could get a fan and they brought one round within the hour. The WiFi was good for Cornwall which is important when wanting to keep teenagers happy on holiday. The lodge was very clean which is important in current times the only things with dust were the rusty old ornaments. Over all though this is a great location with lots to see and do we spent most day out exploring we visited Looe, Hidden valley adventure park, The lost gardens of heligan and we had a great holiday thank you!
The lodge and hot tub was fantastic. Lovely location. The owners were very helpful. We had everything we needed for our adventurous toddler, including a Stairgate too. Only recommendations I would give is a better frying pan as the other one doesn't sit right on the hob. Also more facilities in the lodge for recycling waste. Maybe use unused kitchen cupboard space for inside bins other than that, It was great!
Needs to be cleaned better there was dust on furniture and in bathrooms that hadnt been cleaned for ages and it would have been nice to see through the windows. other that that a very nice lodge well equipped with everything you need.
Adrian
We booked this break before Covid19 and I was disappointed that a refund was not an option. In other words our hand was forced, either go or lose our deposit. Getting in touch with your company was almost impossible during the lockdown, even via email, responses were slow or non existent. Despite this, our holiday was good, the reception lady was fantastic and the lodge was clean and comfortable. Would I use Sykes again, not sure due to the lack of lock down communication and the overiding feeling that we had no choice.
