This quaint log-cabin-style hut has got to be the ultimate couple’s coastal bolthole – that is if you like relaxing by the sea! Sit and absorb the unobstructed sea views from the hot tub on the deck, day or night. If the weather isn’t playing ball, you can even see the water from the sofa and the bed inside, such is the clever design. So, bring your other half and your best canine chums for the holiday of a lifetime in this elevated, cliff-top position on the outskirts of Freathy, in the often-overlooked area near the Rame Head Heritage Coast. Get out walking, take a dip or just stay put and recharge your batteries… The glass front of this beach hut gives it a spacious and luxurious feel. Rustic wood and decking outside give way to wood panelling and stylish bright interiors. The living area is open-plan, with a small but well-equipped kitchen area at the back of the room. To the front, the lounge area offers comfortable seating in front of the bi-folding doors, that open to make you feel like you’re outside. There’s even a bistro dining table indoors, too. Step down slightly into the cosy double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Outside, the fantastic decked area offers sun loungers, a BBQ and outdoor furniture – as well as that all-important hot tub. You can access the 3 miles of sandy beach along Whitsand Bay via the cliff path from this property, so walkies with your dogs pose no problem. Stop to check out the rock pools along the way or watch the surfers. But, if you want to blow the cobwebs away, join the South West Coast Path which passes through.

Nestled into the cliff, this romantic retreat boasts spectacular sea views and offers plenty of bohemian charm. Enjoy chilled days frolicking on the golden sands, ambling along the dramatic coast path and exploring picturesque seaside towns. Then grab a glass of something chilled and snuggle on the outdoor daybed watching the sunset, before bubbling in the hot tub beneath the stars. Originating in the 1950s, this delightful abode was rebuilt during the 1980s, before being redesigned and refurbished in 2017 to stunning effect. Thoughtfully arranged with exquisite attention to detail, the interiors blend reclaimed treasures with beachside chic and lots of homely touches. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has a definite wow factor. Bi-fold doors run the width of the room, opening to the terrace. Sink into the couch and gaze out to sea (there is a TV should you bore of the view!). Rustle up dinner for two in the corner kitchen and enjoy a romantic meal on the dining table or the picnic table on the patio. There is no need to forfeit that view when it’s time for bed either. Simply head next door and snuggle under the covers of your king-size bed, then watch the sunrise from bed through the patio doors. A small bunk room next door can accommodate young children, and a shower room completes this luxurious retreat. For salty beach days, a cliff path leads down to the golden sands, or you can strike out with your pooch and walk some of the South West Coast Path in either direction. There’s plenty to do in the surrounding area including the picturesque fishing harbour of Looe (13.5 miles) with its sandy beach and fresh fish restaurants. Boats run daily to Looe Island, a former holy pilgrimage site, now famous for its nature and wildlife.

Cilla
Fantastic location. Highly recommended.
James
An amazing location with fabulous sea views. The lodge is really comfortable and loved having the hot tub. Only minor gripes would be the lack of help on arrival, one or two minor cleanliness issues and poor WiFi, but the location makes up for everything!
Stephen
I think the owners had gone above and beyond with the little xtras ie : dressing gowns slippers and towels all set out . Board games available for the young ones . A box of Condiments was o lovely gesture . They had everything you needed : iron , hoover , hairdryer . A home from home . welcome pack was full of lots of useful Information. The owners had thought of everything.
Jayne
Wow what an amazing lodge, the view! The hot tub, the beautiful lodge! 5

Ian
The location of the cabin is excellent, it provides wonderful views of the vast countryside directly in front of you and a view of the sea is to the left of the cabin. The time we spent at the cabin allowed us to relax from our busy lives and to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Cornish countryside.
Neil
Location was a bit far from the activites and sites we did. But that was because of not enough research on my side.
Adam
Lovely location. Loads of costal walks near by. Near a lot of locations we wanted to visit too. Plymouth, looe and we also took a longer trip to crantock. The actual lodge was lovely. Very spacious and tidy. Plenty of bedrooms and great facilities. Hottub was great for us had to turn it on round the side of the lodge which took us a few minutes to figure out but once it was going it was lovely. Would definitely recommend this stay.
James
Great location and fabulous views from a very well equipped lodge. Some outdoor areas in need of some TLC but doesn't detract from the overall experience here. The onsite restaurant/bar is best avoided but there are plenty of really good restaurants within walking distance or at most a short 5min drive away.
Rachael
Great holiday home. Beautiful views - so relaxing sitting in the hot tub over looking the sea and stunning countryside.
Sam
Beautiful relaxing place, stunning views. Would definitely visit again.
Lisa

Krzysztof

Louise
Amazing location, fabulous location! The on site pub does a delicious fillet steak and is very reasonable. Great walk on the beach and hot tub was just so relaxing! Very comfortable stay would highly recommend. Holiday cottages were great to deal with with superb customer service and holiday support team. The house was spotlessly clean and having t he addition of fluffy robes was just so lovely.
Kremena
We had a lovely stay, was really surprised how well equipped the kitchen was, had more things than my own and we did lots of cooking. Really happy with the views and location, glad we stayed there! It was so warm with the heating on, was also very spacious. In overall it was way more than we expected from a cottage, could live there forever! Thank you :)
Louise
The lodge was absolutely fabulous and the views were amazing. The only criticism I have is the site that the lodge is on is a bit rundown. I understand it has just been taken over by new owners and that they are hoping to make much needed improvements.
Donna
Great location with great views from the lodge out to sea to your left and over to Plymouth on your right. Hot tub was great after a day walking the coastal paths. Nice restaurant just up the road The View Lodge well equipped, washing machine, dishwasher etc. Very friendly neighbour. Close to Fowey, polperro and looe all worth a visit.
Carole
Lovely property with fantastic views in a tranquil location. A perfect home from home.
