Barn Cottage Reviews

Amanda
Amazing place clean and tidy loved all the animals very lovely people who are ... Amazing place clean and tidy loved all the animals very lovely people who are Friendly and helpful and the hot tub was a bonus
I was disappointed with the accommodation at Barn Cottage, I've never stayed in a junk yard before! ! I took my elderly parents for a weeks holiday...their bed sheets and mattress was of poor quality and the bed appeared to have sand in it!! The wet room wet being the operative word if you showered you couldn't use the toilet until the floor dried...no mop to use. The waterfall tap in the sink was very rusty and stiff and was extremely hot!! The stopper in the sink would not connect to therefore kept losing the water. My dad dropped some money out of his pocket whilst on the sofa...when I picked up the cushion to retrieve it...it was obvious it had never seen a hoover..there was paper, dog hairs, crumbs etc. The fire doors were a hazard in themselves, blocked by all sorts of rubbish and scrap, so you couldn't exit if needed to. Peacocks wandering in the garden and using the lid of the hot tub as a toilet. The hot tub itself was full of sand and the water was never checked the whole week we were there! Lots of animals caged in not very nice surroundings..their water bowls were green. I do have photos of these complaints. However...I think an imminent inspection is required...mainly for the fire hazard issues. My daughter books holidays with yourselves regularly and has always been very pleased. We stayed at this charming cottage and couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. The location is absolutely stunning, surrounded by natural beauty and offering a peaceful atmosphere that's perfect for relaxation. The owners are friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Our children absolutely loved the place! There was plenty of space for them to play, and they enjoyed the freedom to explore the outdoors in such a safe environment. The fresh, clean air was a refreshing change from city life, giving us all a chance to truly unwind and recharge. Overall, this is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We highly recommend it for families or anyone in need of a peaceful retreat.
Wow what an amazing place! We loved our holiday at Barn Cottage. Lovely friendly owners and beautiful place. Many thanks for making us feel so welcome and for an amazing stay.
The cottage was spacious and really well maintained and decorated. As a wheelchair user I was delighted to find it very accessible with a hoist available from the owner if needed. We loved being adopted by the farm cat and visited by the donkeys and peacocks. We met Stu, the host, on arrival and he was so friendly and helpful throughout our visit. We had a lovely week and would definitely recommend. Oh and did I mention the glorious hot tub?

We had an amazing stay here. Andrea and Stuart are great friendly hosts. The hot tub was amazing!
Lovely welcome from Colin and Elain. Andrea and Stewart very friendly and welcoming also. The wheelchair they supplied for us was invaluable. The animals were great and loved seeing and feeding them. The only constructive critisism is the mattress being springs, very loud when turning over. Would definitely stay again. Thank you very much for a great holiday.

Fabulous property and owners, very kind and helpful. Farm animals and others a delight. Very welcoming. I'm a wheelchair user and it was wheelchair accessible, no steps or difficult thresholds. Bathroom isn't huge but shower chair was available on request which was helpful. Other helpful disability items are available on request so speak to owners who can advise. Will absolutely book again.
Brilliant for stay with kids, will definitely go again

Wow, what a hidden treasure! We had an incredible time here. The children absolutely loved it the cottage is located on a farm with so many different animals which was wonderful for the children. There is also a small little park and trampoline which was a great added bonus. The hot tub was amazing, sitting in there at night listening to all the owls talking to each other was beautiful. The photos on the website havent been updated for a while, but the cottage itself is stunning. Stu & Andrea are amazing hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. We will definitely be back. Thankyou so much!
The cottage was comfortable warm and clean. Location was too remote for us but that wasnt anyones fault. Its a working farm which is great but some areas were very run down and full of building materialsrubbish so a bit unsightly. No mops to keep floors clean the only one we could find was outside all rusted up. Owners nice and friendly . Local village lovely

Stuart and Andrea are wonderful hosts so friendly and helpful but not intrusive, the cottage was lovely and comfortable ,the hot tub was lush , the welcome pack was a lovely surprise the Welsh cakes took me back to my childhood and my nanas Welsh cakes We can't wait to go back next year ,and the animals were so cute
It was a fantastic accommodation and the hot tub was out of this world. Beautiful location and ideal for dog owners. As it is enclosed by a solid wall and the gardenpatio area is big and spacious. With seating and a bbq and an added bonus of a rotary pole, toddlers slide and seasaw. TV in every room, easy to adjust temperature and was lovely and warm. Very friendly and helpful owners whom were easy to talk too and very informative . We loved the owls and feeding the Raccoons. The welcome pack was such a lovely surprise and very generous too We will be back
I was dubious about a cottage holiday with the family and two dogs but was incredibly surprised by how it turned out. Barn cottage is lovely and the hosts, Andrea and Stuart, were very friendly and helpful. The cottage is a little difficult to find but, once you get there, you realise how much thought has been put into it. It is very well equipped including a dishwasher, washing machine and hottub and extremely peaceful. The variety of animals around are a bonus and it's great to open the door in the morning and see the goats and chickens trying to get in. We're already telling our friends about the place.

We had the best weeks holiday in this country ever, fabulous place to stay and the owners are so lovely making you feel very welcome. Great base to go places and its in the countryside so lovely and relaxing and peaceful. Hot tub was maintained daily and always checking to make sure that we were ok. Highly recommend
Richard
Great facilities the best holiday great time on the farm with all the animals to keep the boys entertained
The holiday cottage was lovely. The owners were also lovely and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. The facilities such as the hot tub and wet room were perfect. We enjoyed the animals and popping down to visit them and feeding them. We were given a tour of the animals and told a little bit about them all which was really interesting and fun. Our party aged from 2 to 79 with one wheelchair user and every one had a good time. The cottage is on a working farm so if you don't enjoy being around that then it wouldn't be for you but we were really happy and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had the most amazing time at Barn Cottages! Andrea and Stu have really made the cottage a special place for their guests! Waking up to the goats and donkeys was just wonderful! The hot tub was perfect and under shelter and even though we were 6 girls celebrating a birthday, not once was any noise complained about as Andrea and Stu want you to have the best time you can there. We will definitely be returning to Barn Cottages!!!

My husband is in a wheelchair and everything was very accommodating for him.Our hosts Stuart and Andrea were brilliant, what a fantastic couple and would do anything for you....only fault was your directions to the property.....
We had a very enjoyable week throughout especially as we were able to take our young puppy D J with us who enjoyed his new surroundings with all the animals in this very quaint location. If you want peace and quiet visit Barn Cottage.
