Mill Cottage Reviews

Felicity
What a beautiful hidden gem . We had such a wonderful stay. The property was beautiful , just what we needed. Had all everything we needed. The hot tub was the added bonus especially for the children. We have all come away saying how much we loved our family holiday with the cottage being a big part of that
What an absolute gem of a place. Exactly what we wanted from a countryside getaway. The cottage is beautiful inside. The owners are really helpful and can't do enough for you. We cannot wait to go back
Caroline
Lovely hosts, always ready to give information and chat. House was clean and comfortable. All enjoyed the hot tub and games room. Games room needs a bit of TLC. Only down side of the house was the stairs and top floor. They were very noisy when walked on so not great when in bed and others are still moving about.
Absolutely lovely place, really enjoyed our break there. The cottage was spotless and garden was safe for the dogs. Couldn't recommend this place more to anyone. Great setting and really close to all local attractions.

We enjoyed another lovely time at Mill Cottage with our 3 dogs our 3rd visit Lovely clean , comfy cottage with totally secure garden , perfect for dogs wonderful scenery enjoyed from hot tub. Katy very friendly & approachable
Christopher
We really enjoyed our stay, the owners were extremely friendly and the accommodation was extremely clean. If we had to make suggestions we would say the showers need sorting there is little point the property having two bathrooms when only one shower can run at once and if any water is run whilst showering the pressure just doesnt diminish it just dies so the shower becomes a dribble. Had this not been an issue we would have give the property five star
Very spacious and comfortable property with real character and well set out. The outside space was great for keeping our dog safe ,outside lights ,bbq area, washing line ,seating area and hot tub which was a special treat even in late October!! My seven year old loved the games room and play area was also a great surprise too. would also have definitely used washing machine if staying longer ,an added bonus to be taking home clean clothes. Kitchen great with large fridge freezer, large dining table ,dishwasher etc we used facilities every morning to cook breakfast and prepare packed lunch for the five of us ,we found everything we needed but may have been useful if the toaster had been larger as it was a little tricky to provide warm toast with cooked breakfast for five guests at the same time. Beds very comfortable, plenty of wardrobe space ,reading lamps in every bedroom. loads of coat hooks ,coffee tables in lounge and plenty of room for outdoor shoes under stairs, during the winter months ,kids bedroom great and plenty of storage space for cases loads of mirrors sockets, a bonus having three loos, hocks on every door also in bathroom great for clothes ,dressing grown ,swimwear and toiletries, Would definitely recommend this properly for couples and families alike would love to return during summer months to make more use of facilities provided. Also the great local walks. A great four night break had by all the family.

Lovely spacious cottage in beautiful surroundings. Cleanliness was very good, but what an annoying shower in the ensuite as it pointed straight at the wall and we had to take it off the rail and hold it to have a shower to stop it from flooding the floor. Also couldnt understand why only one bedroom had towels when it said that towels would be provided. Other than that a lovely cottage to stay in and we would definitely stay again.

Great accommodation. Quite rural which suits us. The owners were lovely and said to just call them if we couldn't find the place. Thanks to satnav we were OK but appreciated the offer. During the stay the owners were lovely, not in your face but around if you needed them. It's a working farm and we got a wee demo of the milking by the very informative farmer. He went above and beyond, kids loved it. Friendly farm cat, again kids loved that too. Hot tub and games room were the cherries on the cake!

This was our second stay at Mill Cottage and again it did not disappoint. The property is wonderful and has everything you need for a perfect holiday. Plenty of space, fully equipped and a lovely garden for relaxing in. The owner is so friendly but not at all intrusive. We will certainly be thinking of booking for next year.
A fantastic week with our 3 dogs and 2 Grandchildren. The cottage was extremely clean and tidy, which was brilliant for us as we arrived quite late after our long journey. The hot tub was an amazing asset and huge hit with the little ones, and ourselves. The rear garden was fenced in so that the dogs were well controlled but free to venture out as well and the views were phenomenal. Indoors we couldn't want for anything else, except maybe a bit of lube on some of the door hinges upstairs. Not any sort of problem but very noisy once the little ones were asleep. The only slight downer, particularly for my ancient bones, was the low and soft sofas. Like i say, only a problem for me and next time we will take a few cushions. Just something for future guests to be aware of in case they are of a similar state of wornoutbodyitis. I would highly recommend this holiday cottage for very many reasons and the hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely going back soon, as we were informed by our 5 year old Granddaughter!

First time in a long time I really daunted going home. Loved it.

We had a fantastic weekend. Very clean and homely. Andy was very welcoming on arrival. My only pick would be games room needs some maintenence. We took things for our kids to do but was a bit dirty over there. Other then that 1010
My family had a lovely week at these properties. We had 15 people and 6 dogs spread across the three cottages. We all loved the views from the fields of the surrounding area, the woodland walks directly from the doorstep. Andy, the owner, is onsite if you need anything and ensures any needs are met, such a friendly bloke! I would definitely recommend these properties and hope to go again with my family.
Lovely place for a girly get away. Everything we needed was there. Comfortable and clean. ......I could have necked the cockerel at 5.30 in the morning though
Had a lovely week at mill cottage. Property is spotless and has everything you need. Quite close to lovely beaches and towns. Owners are lovely and friendly. Will definitely book again for next year.
Fabulous place enjoyed the games room and the owner was great.
A well equipped cottage, everything we could of wanted was there. If you truly want a peaceful getaway book this cottage. Beautiful setting and views and friendly owners.
Perfect for a relaxing break.
The property owners where very helpful and always there to help if needed. The 2 dogs had a great time and were very safe.
0n your site you list this property as being 1. 5 miles from the nearest pub. When in fact it is 4miles. Also the games room which is well stock does have a major problem with its roof so on the days when its raining and you would probably want to use it you can't because off all the leaks. On the plus side very helpful owners who were very helpful and friendly people peaceful location great for dogs
Claire
This property exceeded expectations and has everything required for an amazing holiday. The property was immaculate and the owner was on hand if we needed to ask any questions but not intrusive at all. The view from the large enclosed garden is beautiful and the hot tub just brilliant. I cannot recommend staying here enough. We are seriously considering booking again for next year and that's a first as we normally search for something new.
Nice and spacious a lot of room to move around. Nice garden with all extras outside bbq, hot tub. Comfortable bed and sofa. Hot tub and bbq was a nice add on tho and 3 bathrooms made it easy especially a downstairs one aswell. Quite a few spiders and cobwebs in room but no dust which shows it has been cleaned. No temperature change on the hot tub would make it better. The games room was nice to spend time in and use the facilities but it does need a lot of TLC such as a lot of the darts were broke including the flights, table tennis table was wobbly and could only find one ball, also there was no light working so couldnt see at night.
We specifically searched for a cottage with a hot tub. As a family of 5 we struggle to find places to stay as Hotels don't offer accommodation for 5 and so we rely on independent accommodation such as Skyes or AirBnB and this lovely cottage really offered everything we wanted and more. Beautiful surroundings and helpful hosts.
Kimberley
Excellent stay thank you
Patricia
Had a wonderful stay, quiet, beautiful views, highly recommend
We absolutely loved how quiet it was situated in the countryside. Local sea side towns were lovely and easy to get too. Great facilities and really friendly owners. Will definitely be going back
Courtney
Enjoyed the peace and quiet. Would be even better if a shop was more local or tsc mmhe park was a little bigger for little ones ages 1 2. But loved the place. Already thinking off booking again. Owners are lovely.
Jonathan
Fantastic accommodation, very friendly & helpful owners on site. Would definitely recommend to friends & family, and well definitely be back.
Bonnie

Joanne
Lovely rural cottage very peaceful. Not much to do around so you didnt feel you had to do stuff so it was a real relaxing holiday the children could play outside safely. Would return with no hesitation.
Edward
Cottage was as expected . .. Exactly what we wanted after being mentally tired with all the Covid going on... Views from the cottage down the valley for miles Hot Tub was great day Affernoon and night... We were well looked after and the coves beeches were great to walk along Well recharged at the end of it... Thanks again Andy and the rest of the gang
Lovely quiet retreat away from it all that was spotlessly clean. Lots of space and the hot tube added an extra touch of luxury. Friendly and easygoing owners who made us very welcome. Our only small gripes were that the WiFi was slow and intermittent at times and our bed was firmer than we would have liked, but these didnt spoil our stay. I would recommend Mill Cottage to anyone in search of a quiet break.
Christopher
Because of the open plan staircase it was quite noisy with creaking timbers etc. .. Which is fine if everyone wakes and goes to bed at same time but we had a baby and it had a few restless nights because of this.
This was a last minute break , what a beautiful find . The cottage was delightful As well as the owners . They were so friendly , the balance was perfect , if you needed them They were there if not they stayed out of your personal space . The hot tub was amazing , the games room Was a very popular evening event , we were the only family ever in there there was only 2 families but it felt like your own . . We really didnt wasnt to leave .

When the weather is nice this attraction is perfect as you can wander around and admire the superb range of exotic trees and shrubs.  They look different at different times of the year but one of the most popular times to see them is in Autumn.  With various events throughout the year such as Apple Weekend there is always something new to experience.  You can watch a 90 second film about this attraction on their website which is excellent.
