Ffynnonlwyd Cottage Reviews

Very good cottage nicely equipped kitchen etc. really relaxing peaceful place lovely views of countryside and the stars at night plenty of wildlife around to watch
Farm location is idyllic. Lovely garden and outdoor seating area with hot tub. Flowers and butterflies everywhere. Cows and hens in neighbouring field, and a very friendly farm dog. Owners lived next door and available and helpful but unobtrusive. Cottage itself is compact but well designed and enough space for four of us. Clean and comfortable. We would have liked a few more plates, bowls etc in kitchen as we like to put food on table and help ourselves.
Top property, would highly recommend!
Wonderful place to unwind. Listening to the birds and the cows comming in to be milked. Would come back. Thanks to all.
We loved our stay at Ffynnonlwyd Cottage. We went with our two children aged 7 and 9 and it was perfect. The hot tub in the evening was a perfect way to end the day after going to the beach, a walk or nearby town. Everywhere is around a 30 minute drive and the beaches were spectacular. We were also grateful to the owners, Mr Lloyd, when our daughter lost her ring he found it and left in a safe place for us to collect on the last day when we had already vacated.

This is a really lovely holiday cottage, comfortable, clean and homely, ideal for a family of 4, and perfectly located for exploring the coastline of South Wales, would highly recommend. The owners are helpful and friendly and the dogs were an absolute pleasure. The hot tub is also lovely to relax in at the end of the day. Overall a lovely holiday, thank you!

We had a really lovely week the cottage felt like a piece of Tuscany in the Welsh countryside! The hot tub area surpassed all of our expectations and was lovely to sink into every night. The cottage was very peaceful, but a perfect location for all of the lovely places we visited. Jimmy and Bonnie were an added bonus and we loved having them at the cottage. We also met the owner who made us feel very welcome! We would love to come back in the future and would recommend the cottage to anyone! Rachel and Tony

Instructions need updating, said you will see large blue sign when you arrive at destination, it is a small plaque on wall which could be easily missed if you didnt have a sat nav.

Lovely cozy & very clean cottage. Beautiful rural location. Ample of greenery and pleasing atmosphere. All the amenities as described. Owners were very helpful and cooperative. Welcome pack and the puppies on the farm were icing on the cake. Would definitely recommend to others and will be visiting it again.
Lovely place, clean and comfy, children enjoyed, . .seeing the animals , could not make use of hot tub this time left a wee bit early due to illness but will glad to book again in warmer weather .
A lovely cosy cottage, spacious and nicely furnished, comfortable bed. Really appreciated the outside space, i.e. garden with patio set and sun beds, also the covered seating area with hot tub which was pure bliss! The log fire was also a nice feature. A couple of negatives the shower only provided tepid water despite several attempts to control the heat. Also, the size of the bath towels is inadequate bath sheets please!! Lastly, Jimmy the dog was a welcome temporary guest such a character and so lovable.
Cottage was excellent and quite large for the 2 of us, but would have easily accommodated 4. Very rural as on a working dairy farm. Places such as Tenby, Fishguard, St Davids were all easily accessed for day trips. The beaches are wonderful in this part of Wales. Many are long and sandy. Pendine Sands is unbelievable, however the motor museum is undergoing major changes so is currently not open. Jim the dog was a very friendly asset to our cottage stay. Made himself quite at home. Lovely welcome basket as well. A suor choice of location and cottage.
Great area and a nice comfy cottage, issues with flush maceration system and kept going off every night at least 8 times every 2 hrs. .. When reporting it I was told yes they had issues with it from previous guest.. but not sorted .
The cottage is lovely! The photos are accurate. The owner is really friendly and helpful and even gave us some fresh milk, which was delicious, by the way! The cottage was easy to find, and have beautiful setting. Are even have small cows in your back garden. My children loved Jim the family dog too. We watched the cattle being milked, which was a lovely experience. We loved South Wales and we would 100 recommend the cottage and the area. Thank you so much!

The cottage was very clean and tidy and was a great size for everything we needed. It was nicely located close to local towns and villages. We were pleased with the additional hot tub and welcome basket which we felt was a nice touch.
We had such a great time! The house was really cozy, the beds were comfortable to sleep on. The kitchen had everything we needed, very convenient we managed to cook all our meals The local shop is about 15 to 20 minutes drive so not to bad. So do make sure if you want to visit that you have a car. There is a local beach Pendine beach near by, again very convenient if you have kids. Also having a washing machine in the house made things so much easier for us. All in all we had a great time the kids loved it!
Lovely romantic cottage in an excellent location and would definitely book again.
Monica
A great cottage for relaxing, peaceful although on a working dairy farm there was not much noise, very interesting watching the cows being milked which was shown to us by Haydn the owner, very friendly family. Pretty garden with lots of hanging baskets. Everything you need was in the cottage, after a day visiting the surrounding area it was nice to step into the Hot Tub which was covered and nice sitting area outside. Jimmy the dog visited most evenings very friendly . Many thanks for an enjoyable week.
Edward
The pictures do not do justice to this fantastic cottage the welcome we received was not what we expected Jim the dog was a fantastic greeter and meeter he was such a character, We could not fault our stay at this cottage and the whole farm family were very pleasant, It was exactly what we needed for a perfectly relaxing holiday. The location of the cottage is ideal for visiting local beauty spots and towns. We would not hesitate to book the cottage again. Eddie and Karen
The cottage is extremely comfortable for a famiy of 4. The location is lovely and quiet, only the odd occassional moo was heard. The hot tub was great after a long day out and my boys loved it. Jimmy the dog was also a regular visitor to the cottage which gave my youngest the best holiday ever!
Sheila
Stayed at the cottage for 4 nights, it was clean, comfortable, exactly as advertised. Comfortable beds, good shower, fabulous hot tub which being under cover can be used whatever the weather. The welcome hamper was a lovely treat. Amazing bird life, enjoyed watching the swallows and robins, even saw a red kite. Nathan the host was very good, but must mention the adorable Jimmy, the meet & greet dog, who joined us on the decking for afternoon cuddles. Would highly recommend and hope to go again.
We had a lovely stay, hot tub was amazing. We stayed 3 years ago and came back and hope to come back again. The house was really good for the 3 of us. Being on the farm was great & nice a quiet.
Lovely cottage lovely host lovely peaceful surroundings.
Pauline
This was a fantastic cottage, even better than the pictures, the owners were very welcoming and even though it is situated on a working farm there was very little noise to disrupt our stay, would definitely recommend to others. we booked this cottage last minute but the place was immaculately clean with a very well stocked welcoming basket. Will definitely be booking here again
Jonathan
Cottage is clean and tidy very cosy on lovely dairy farm and the hot tub was fantastic I will definitely be going back loved it!
The cottage was idyllic, cosy and comfortable. Very clean with everything you need for a self catering stay. Hot Tub was fantastic, warm and all prepared for when we arrived. As stated, it is on a working farm with cows and all that comes with them. For me and my partner it was perfect. Many thanks to the Owner and his lovely cleaner for a wonderful stay.
Stanley
Good location, and well equipped cottage, no problems. The hot tub was enjoyable at the end of days sightseeing. Just one pint we would make to the owners is whether the heated towel rail in the bathroom which is a good size would be enough in colder weather? The heating in the cottage was very efficient and although tempted we did not use the wood burning stove. the provision of an efficient washing machine was a bonus In summary a place that we would happily return to and recommend to others
Have booked before with Sykes and think we have been very spoilt with the accomodation we have previously stayed in. Ffynnonlwyd Cottage itself was adequate, however, I do feel the bathroom was in need of some TLC. Realised on reflection that no photo was available of the shower and when we stayed here, we understand why. The shower itself was actually very good and powerful but the enclosure was very small and a little run down. I am of a large build and did struggle getting in and out, even my partner with a smaller frame still found this a little restricting in space. There is so much room in the bathroom to make something so much better than what is available. The bedding was very simple and did have a couple of stains on as did a couple of the towels. A few cobwebs which always makes me on edge when staying at an property however the kitchen was spotless. The hottub was the main reason for booking as we always like to relax in one after a good days walking. We couldnt fault this. Hot and well maintained , just a shame we couldnt use it after our very long journey on arrival. Someone already mentioned the steps to the garden and I agree they are extremely slippery as was the decking, some parts covered in algae. Although after coming back on our second day,we noticed the steps had been washed and the decking had been attempted to be cleaned also. The finer detail and little touches which could have made such a difference was lacking.A small welcome basket with tea coffee and sugar was provided but just my personal opinion,Condiments would have been a little touch that could have been available at the cottage. There is no salt or pepper. There was a small bin in the bathroom but no liner or any type of small bags that ladies need to have available . The plumbing and toilet is on a macerator so you could not flush certain things so these sanitary bags would have been extremely helpful and handy. We sadly never got to light the log fire as there was nothing there to light the fire and we wasnt met by the owner until he said hello on our last day as we were leaving. I guess we could have knocked at the house to ask for some fire lighters. All that being said, we had a lovely break away and enjoyed our stay in Wales. The cottage is ideally situated to visit some beautiful places.
We were delighted with this holiday and the cottage. It was so peaceful. I expected to be woken each morning by the sound of living on a working farm, but instead, it was the sound of birds, and cow's in the distance. We had very little contact with the owners as they were on holiday at the same time, but we didn't need any help with anything until our 7th day, and our problem was solved immediately by the owners son Rhodric sorry if i spelt that wrong! & the cleaner Sharon, who were both wonderful & a plumber had the problem fixed by the end of the day. I couldn't fault the cottage and hope that one day we go back again.
Leslie Patrick
The cottage was a lovely quiet and comfy getaway. Ideal for trips to super beaches and countryside walks. Returning to chill out in the hot tub a nice end to the day.
We had a really lovely time, the cottage was very clean and comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The hot tub was clean and pleasurable to use and the working farm was very relaxing to see. Perfect cottage, perfect location and prefect staycation.
Steven
We loved every minute. The cottage was perfect and the hot tub really made our stay! Haydn and Sian were extremely welcoming and showed us around the farm and little Jim the dog greeted us home at the end of every day, much to the childrens delight! The cottage was in a great location for visiting Tenby and Carmarthen and e had a lovely day at Marloes beach. All in all it was exactly what we were after and would definitely return.
Warren
Lovely cottage, had everything we needed. Great outdoor space, peaceful location and a great base to explore the local area and beyond. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely cottage set in an ideal location to travel around Wales. Comfortable clean and very homely, lovely cottage garden that was very secure for our dogs they loved it. Owners were really helpful and always around if we needed them. The cottage is set on a working farm that has to be one of the cleanest and friendliest we have ever stayed on. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Lloyd you have created a great get away retreat, we would love to return again.
Stephen
Lovely cottage, it is on the owners farm but you would never know they were there unless you needed them. Had a fantastic week visiting the local area, Castell Henlly is a great day out, and the kids will love it. Beautiful beaches and little towns. Back at the cottage there is everything you could need and the hot tub, well thats the icing on the cake. We will definitely be booking again and cant wait to return to this beautiful place. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Lloyd for a wonderful experience.
Beautiful location, easy to get too, excellent owners and hot tub was unbelievable
Darren
Really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Hayden was a very good host and made me and Wife's stay very comfortable. The facilities at the cottage were excellent and having the hot tub was fantastic. Very good location to stay at and we had the privilege of seeing a new born calf. Would definitely return if had the opportunity.
