Windmill Cottage Reviews

James
We've stayed here three times over two years and always find it a perfect spot to explore Norfolk. It's super cosy with all the essentials for a great holiday. Big thanks to the team!
Emma Turner
We had such a lovely stay thanks to the super friendly staff, especially Sarah at reception who made us feel really welcome. Everyone went above and beyond, which was great since we were celebrating my husband's 40th birthday. The decoration package was spot on and really made the occasion special. The spa massage was fantastic and the games room kept us entertained. Only a small gripe - the oven took ages to cook and the accommodation claimed to have a washing machine, but it wasn’t there. Still, we’d definitely recommend it!
Emma
We had a lovely stay here! The beds were super comfyand I was really surprised when we arrived because the cottage was way bigger than it looks in the photos online. There was more space in the bedrooms than I expected, which was a bonus. We took walks to the beach a few times and used the place as a base to visit Blakeney, Cromerand Great Yarmouth. The spa nails were a nice treatand we enjoyed the games room, even if it could use a bit of sprucing up. Overall, a great little getaway!
Alex Harper
When we arrived, the place wasn’t very clean - hoover didn’t pick up even a grain of sand! Walls had cracks and paint was missing in places. Still, it’s our second visit as a familyand we’d go again. Just needs a bit of a tidy-up and fresh paint to be perfect!
Emma
It's a bit of a trek from the village centre, so not ideal if you struggle with walking. You should probably like dogs, as we had some quite close by that were a bit noisy. It’s a tad small for four people with an open plan layout, but overall, a decent place to stay.
James
The location's greatand the hot tub is honestly one of the best we've used!
Emma
Nice spot, private hot tub is a real treat, could do with some upgrades.
Emma
Lovely cottage, charming stay, definitely coming back soon!
Emma Clarke
Great location, lovely walk to the beachand the place was spotless and comfy.
Ellie M.
We loved the peaceful rural setting of the cottage, perfect for relaxing and just a short walk to the cliff paths and Mundesley village. The hot tub was spotless and really added to our stayand the spa was fantastic. The staff at reception were friendly and efficient, which was a bonus. That said, the place does look a bit tired and could do with a fresh coat of paint, especially in the bathroom where we found mould and leaking pipes. Overall, we'd come back once it's been decorated again!
Emma
We stayed here again and honestly, it’s just as lovely as last time! The place is spotless and feels really cared for. The beds are so comfyand the kitchen has everything we needed. Plus, the peaceful spot with that cliff walk to the beach is just perfect.

We loved the cottage! The hot tub was a real treatand the host's communication was spot on. A few bits of paintwork could do with freshening up, but overall it’s a cosy place we’d happily return to. Highly recommend!
Tom
A good quality cottage on the Mundesley Holiday Village. All amenities are there and it’s furnished to a good standard! We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others. It’s perfect for a relaxing getaway.
Clara
We had a wonderful time at this lovely cottage, nestled in a lovely park with stunning views and access to beach walks. The staff were really helpful and the hot tub was fantastic! Getting around was a breeze thanks to the local bus. We couldn't fault much, except the oven was a bit of a nightmare to operate. It took ages to cook anything!
Claire
We had a fab holiday! The place was clean and the location was just perfect for us. The area and the village had everything we needed.
James
The main bedroom window doesn't lock properly, which is a bit concerning. Also, having a plug point near the mirror for a hair dryer would be really useful!
Emma
We can't recommend Mundsley HV highly enough! The customer service is absolutely fantastic, the location is just perfectand the facilities are super clean, especially the gym. Thanks for an amazing holiday, we will definitely be booking again!
Tasha
We can't rate this beautiful holiday home highly enough! It was immaculate when we arrived and so stylish too. The check-in with the key safe was super easy. It was well-equipped with tea, coffee, biscuits, salt, sugar, cleaning bits and bobsand plenty of towels. The beds were really comfortable as well. We loved the private patio with the hot tub; it was wonderful. The hot tub was checked twice daily and kept really cleen. It was only a 10-minute, safe cliff walk to a lovely beach that was also really clean, including the toilet facilities which were very well-maintained. We had a really enjoyable stay overall.
Tom
We really liked this property! The location is greatand the living area and bedrooms are particularly nice. There were plenty of towels and pillows, which was a bonus. The toilet seemed a bit datedand we had a bit of trouble with the oven, but these are minor issues in what was otherwise a really enjoyable stay. It’s nicely situated for the cliff top walk and very close to Horsey and Cromer. Plus, having a real Christmas tree in the living area was such a lovely touch for a New Year break - it really felt homely and made our stay all the more enjoyable.
Lucy
We had a lovely time in this cottage after its recent refurbishment! The hot tub was not only clean but also really warmand those fluffy towels were great. Plus, the welcome gifts were such a nice touch.

While there'll be plenty to keep you entertained at Windmill Cottage itself, if you plan to get out and about and see some of what Norfolk has to offer, here are some of the nearby attractions you can enjoy during your stay. Please note that some of these activities and days out are paid and it's always a good idea to book in advance to secure your place where applicable.

Found a special day out near your cottage? Please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too!
Sheringham Park - NR26 8TL
about 11 Miles
The National Trust Sheringham Park in Norfolk was designed by Humphry Repton and the book of original designs can still be seen. The park has many attractions including a viewing tower and a gazebo with amazing coastal views, wildlife trails which young children will love and an exhibition barn where visitors can learn the history of the park.
Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 11 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 17 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Bishops Boats Seal Trips - NR23 1RY
about 18 Miles
This is a really unique attraction running daily seal watching trips from the middle of March right through to the end of October.  The experienced skippers will lead you out on one of the traditional wooden boats where you will have the chance to see both common and grey seals.  If you love animals then this is one attraction not to be missed! They also do some boat trips combined with guides on dry land such as seal watching combined with a visit to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, owned by the National Trust.  We think this attraction is excellent value for money as they keep their admission prices low.
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens - NR21 0LN
about 23 Miles
if you and your family are interested in nature and wildlife then Pensthorpe Nature Reserve & Gardens is the perfect place for a day out. This beautiful area of national parkland is home to a huge range of common and rare birds from sparrows to Red Crowned Cranes and also has a red squirrel enclosure - part of a conservation programme and now home to a family of adorable squirrels. Other activities to enjoy at Pensthorpe include pond dipping and Landrover discovery tours. Pensthorpe also played host to BBC'S Springwatch in 2010.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park - NR32 4TZ
about 28 Miles
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
