The Shippon Reviews

Lesley
We were greeted with a very warm welcome from the owner, the property was immaculate, and so well stocked with everything we could need ,with the delightful added bonus of fresh flowers and cupcakes ,there was even prosecco and milk in the fridge. The outlook onto the patio and hot tub and well kept large communal lawned area was lovely and peaceful ,the nearby busy road did not distract from this at all. Good play area for children. We had a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable family holiday. Would definitely go back.
Wonderful time thanks
Fantastic cottage and the hosts were great. Lovely gifts of proseco, cakes and milk for a well earned refresh following a long drive. The cottage was amazing with all the comforts. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub. And the security and privacy. Yes there is a car wash out front, however we did not have any concerns with noise. This cottage is perfectly central for Chester, Liverpool and Manchester. Lots of activities with Chester zoo and Go ape approximately 15 mins away. The tolls for the Liverpool tunnels were 2.10 each way which we felt was very reasonable for a 30 min drive. Fantastic holiday thank you we will be looking forward to another holiday in the future.
The cottage is so beautiful and faultless, with so much attention to detail to add that extra special thought to make our stay so enjoyable. We loved our family time here, thank you.
Fantastic property . Very well stocked for a comfortable stay. The hosts are really helpful . I will be staying again
A lovely place to stay with everything you could need to have a relaxing weekend away. The owners were fab, lovely and very helpful. Will visit again.
Brenda
Property superb, immaculately clean. lovely welcome pack. Location ideal for Chester and North Wales. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.
Stayed three nights at The Shippon. Great property, very comfortable, beautifully decorated and maintained to a high standard. Lovely welcome gifts on arrival. Zuzana and Paul are great hosts. Would highly recommend. Jo
The cottage is beautiful, warm, cozy and super wellequipped. We were warmly welcomed by Zuzana and the flowers, prosecco and milk were much appreciated. Sitting in the hot tub under the stars as it started to sleet was magical. Highly recommend...and we will be back!
Absolutely stunning cottage with a lovely pub facing, we stayed for new year and had such a lovely time! We will certainly book this place again!
Absolutely loved our family break in Shippon. Exc communication in advance from Paul and Zuzanna. Nice treats and wine left for us. Fully explained use of hot tub. House itself, beautiful ! Fantastic finish inside and out. Quaint, quirky and v modern. Underfloor heating v cozy. Lovely large green space out back plus sizeable patio and the fab hot tub. Location, very very good. 10 mins Cheshire Oaks, and an hour to Liverpool or Manchester. Also did Chester aquarium and Knowsley Safari. A wonderful four night stay, only 90 mins from Holyhead. Would I return and book again ? Absolutely !! Thanks Paul and Zuzanna. Your property is a credit to you !
Wonderful property. Super clean and very well maintained. Has everything you will need for a comfortable stay. Looking forward to our next visit!

We had an amazing time here! I would 100 recommend to other people and will definitely be back. The cleanliness was out of this world and we felt at home. The beds were so comfy and thought it was great how well equipped it was. The hot tub was fabulous as well. The owners should apply to go on Four In A Bed. The finishing touches were lovely, the flowers, bottle of cava in the fridge and the cupcakes. Thank you!
Fantastic holiday let, perfect for our family holiday. The kids loved their own top floor with books and games and tv. Very clean with everything we needed, fantastic pub just across the road, lovely lawn for the kids to run and play. Will definitely return for a weekend holiday.

We had a lovely stay at The Shippon. On arrival, even though we were earlier than expected, we were greeted and everything was ready. There was also milk, cava and cakes which was a lovely touch. The house itself is beautiful and comfortable and the bedrooms upstairs as well as the mezzanine were perfect for our 2 children aged 6 and 3 as was the brilliant garden with play equipment. The hot tub was wonderful, the owners were on hand if we ever needed them and it was a great base for Chester and Liverpool. Just what we wanted.
One of the best places I have stayed at, every detail has been catered for to a TOP standard. Beautiful garden, property's outstanding with absolutely everything you need. Bonus was HOT TUB and the CAR VALATARS out the front of the property. Zuzana and Paul have done an outstanding job and we will definitely be back again. Perfect location for Chester, Liverpool and Manchester. Local to Chester zoo, Chester Town Centre, Cheshire Oaks, Blue Planet and the pretty villages Helsby and Frodsham. Seriously couldn't get better.
Amazing cottage, great location and very friendly owners. Couldnt have asked for a better stay!
Great stay, everything you need, would recommend. Thank you
Claire
We had the most amazing break at this fabulous accomidation. It was so clean and so many little finishing touches added that made it a true home from home with the added bonus of a hot tub! We where a group of 4 adults and 2 children, the owners where so accommodating, I spoke with them the day before we arrived and explained that we had an 18 month old coming and they provided a high chair and baby gate. We arrived and had cupcakes, a bottle of fiz and some milk waiting for us. This was such a thoughtful tough and set our break off to the most perfect start. It is perfect distance to attractions like Chester zoo, blue planet aquarium and Cheshire oakes shopping Centre. The pub over the road served lovely food and was great just over the road. The children spent hours on the play equipment, can't wait to return!
We had a fab relaxing weekend in a lovely cottage that had everything we needed. The cottage was lovely and clean and was perfect for our weekend we hope to return again soon

The entire place is outstanding. Very spacious and well designed. Stunning outdoor sitting area with the hot tube. The kitchen has everything that you need and much more. The luxurious bedrooms with very comfortable beds give you a good quality sleep. My personal favourite was chandeliers in the bathroom. Easy access, close to big Tesco. I and my friends would recommend and visit again The Shippon. Five stars from us.
Rebecca
We had a lovely weekend break at the shippon. We received a warm welcome from the owner, the guest information folder told us everything we needed to know and extra special touches of milk & a bottle of prosecco in the fridge was a nice surprise. The property was immaculate and lovely & warm. The outside space was great, especially the hot tub which again was immaculately clean. Great pub across the road for a nice meal, we will definitely be booking again.
Beautiful house, with everything you could need, all well organised and ... Beautiful house, with everything you could need, all well organised and spotlessly clean, all mod cons, contemporary style, mixed with lovely traditional features
What an amazing place! Everything was clean, well maintained, and very well equipped. It literally has everything you need. Absolutely loved the layout and design of the place. We had 2 kids with us and thought we might struggle to keep them entertained, but it even had everything for them, if they weren't playing in the garden or on the slideswings, they were asking to go in the hot tub. And when they were inside, they loved going upstairs and playing with all the toys. When the kids were entertaining themselves, we got chance to relax. The pubrestaurant across the road was lovely too. This was a very well needed break, didn't want to leave, and I'm sure we will go back. Thank you
Great property, we had a fantastic time and were very comfortable in this beautiful cottage. Would definitely return.
Absolutely brilliant cottage with everything you could need. The owner was lovely and helpful. Perfectly located for everywhere we wanted to visit and plenty of food options and even a Tesco nearby. I clean holiday cottages so I am usually disappointed with the level of cleanliness in cottages we are staying in and usually go around cleaning on arrival but not at the Shippon! It was absolutely immaculate and clean. Beautiful throughout, thanks so much and we can't wait to come back.
Michael
Perfect place to stay to visit Chester, excellent accommodation, would recommend to all.
Nice central location for many different attractions

We had a fantastic week at the Shippon. It was immaculately clean and we were welcomed with a lovely welcome pack. You are central to most attractions around the area. We will definitely recommend to others.
Natalie
Really beautiful cottage with amazing facilities. Gorgeous location. Hot tub was absolutely perfect. Would definitely book in again.
Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We were greeted with milk, cupcakes, sparkling wine and flowers. Lovely after a long journey. Accomodation was great and we didn't want to leave. Despite the typical August weather cool and showery we used the large hot tub more than once a day Bluetooth music speaker in it led to much laughter and sing alongs. Twice we were offered free ice creams whilst in the hot tub, a lovely treat. Kitchen was vast and had everything we needed. Eating establishment just across the road, had an extensive and yummy menu. Cottage was in a good location for many attractions and days out and train station was a 5 min drive or 25 min walk. Would definitely recommend.
Very Friendly, Lovely Place.
Paul and Zuzana were fabulous host, the gifts were very much appreciated and the ... Paul and Zuzana were fabulous host, the gifts were very much appreciated and the kids loved the Bluetooth option to listen to music in the hot tub and bath x would definitely recommend
Eileen
Absolutely fabulous accommodation and Paul and Zuzanne were lovely and very helpful. Lovely extra touches like cava and cupcakes on arrival and ice creams on the last night added to the feeling we were welcome. Great base for exploring too. We would definitely recommend and are likely to return
We are a party of 6 4 adults and 2 children and have loved our stay at The Shippon. The house was immaculate with great facilities and amazing garden space. The beds were also super comfy! The location is great for exploring many nearby places and attractions, we found plenty to do! The kids really enjoyed the ice cream farm which is close by. It would have been nice to have had an extra sofa given there were 6 of us, or a larger L shaped might work, but it didnt spoil our stay and we would definitely come back.
Louise
Nice accommodation. Closer to a busy rd than anticipated. Didnt spoil our time there. Lay out a little strange. But close to lots of lovely things to do. Nice to have milk flowers and Prosecco waiting for us on arrival. A nice touch.
Alexander
Brilliant accomodation, very nicely decorated and filled with everything you need. Couldn't fault a thing! Would happily return again.
Fabulous accommodation full of modern tech, kids loved playing their music from their phones in the hot tub. Extremely clean and well kitted out. Would highly recommend. Once in the cottage, you could be anywhere.
Loved our weekend away! The property was beautiful so modern with the original barn features. Was very clean, spacious and the owners were very helpful. It was like home from home but with additional luxurious. Will definitely book again and recommend to everyone.
