The Parlour Reviews

Angela
Friendly welcome by the owner and explained how the hot tub worked, lovely modern accommodation. We arrived on a Sunday and went to The Hornsmill for a Sunday roast, very good although you do need to cross a busy road. Accommodation was very well equipped with a lovely view out the back, beds very comfortable and slept ok apart from being woken at 4am by the cockerel at the farm next door! Good location and handy for Chester.
Absolutely lovely stay. Parlour was spotless and lots of little extras. Lovely bubbly and cupcakes for our birthday girl but also cleaning stuff too. We had great weather so spent time outside in the hot tub. Only improvement for us would be a couple of comfy armchairs in the living area as we were sat on dining chairs chatting till early hours as there is only one settee. We will be back
William
Property is well located for places to visit, it was very clean with a very well equipped kitchen. Access over the thick gravel forecourt was difficult for wheelchair access and there was no facility for hanging clothes in the upstairs bedrooms.
Perfect property for my weekend with 6 of us old friends that just wanted a relax and to catch up together. So thoughtful to have the bottle of bubbly, milk and cupcakes on arrival and lots of good kitchen equipment and teacoffee, cleaning stuff etc. which would have made packing to come easier...even tho I always over prepare. Hottub was amazing and made the trip!
Friendly helpful hosts. Very clean and well equipped cottage. Good location with lots to do in the area.
Myself and a group of my girl friends have just returned from a weekend at The Parlour and what a fabulous weekend we had! The house was absolutely stunning and couldn't have been any better. It was clean, bright and extremely well equipped. Hot tub fantastic and beautiful outdoor space, we were lucky enough to have good weather and enjoyed breakfast outside. The owners were also friendly and very accommodating. We would recommend The Parlour to anyone that is thinking about it
Jeanette
Our stay at the parlour was above and beyond expectations. The cottage is truly beautiful in the perfect location, being just a taxi ride away from Chester itself. I cannot fault the accommodation in any way. We were a group of 8 and there was plenty of room for everyone with all catering and facilities needed, nothing missing at all. We cooked two full meals and found all the utensils, pots, pans, glasses everything you need. Having researched the location beforehand you don't have to cook if you don't want to, there's a great foodie pub across the road, takeaways and a tesco supermarket 5 minutes drive away. Hot tub was cleaned every day, lovely and warm, easy to use, in a very private location. This is the best large accommodation I have ever stayed at, gorgeous open plan kitchen with great views over the expansive, manicured lawns, comfy beds, quiet location, plenty of fluffy bath towels, great sound system. It's an amazing house, not one of us wanted to leave. As soon as I have an excuse to book again, I will! Thank you so much for making our stay so special and memorable.
Jessie
Love love love it. Perfect for get togethers like we did. Canny fault it. Everything you need is there to relax and enjoy. The

Lovely weekend stay with friends, for my 40th birthday. Complimentary cupcakes and wine on arrival. The cottage was amazingly well equipped, owners literally thought of every possible need even down to personal touches like throws on the couch lovely to wrap up and sit on patio first thing and take in the beautiful morning view and umbrella in cupboard. Cottage was warm, clean and cosy. Had issue with the speakers not working, owners came straight away to try and fix problem but when it couldn't be fixed we were offered her wireless speaker from home, nothing was too difficult. Hot tub lovely and easy to use. Helpful guide to cottage facilities available to use and easy to read. Cannot fault our stay from start to end. Check in and out was simple and flawless process. Safe, secure and lovely surroundings. Will be coming back, highly recommended.
Kathryn
An amazing property that was super clean and had everything you would need. The owner even came to clean the hot tub every day. Thank you so much!
Catherine
Absolutely amazing place. Comfortable beds beautiful layout. Amazingly clean and well maintained. All the added little extras just made the difference too. kids loved the toys and games. The fresh flowers and cupcakes on arrival. It was beginning of September and fans had been left in every bedroom. Towels and flannels provided. Hot tub amazing and relaxing. Cleaned daily. Kids ran all over the field playing and exploring and having an absolutely fantastic time on the climbing frame. Pub over the road lovely and we managed a few walks around the area. Would highly recommend a family stay. This is my second time here at the parlour last was with work colleagues on a retirement fairwell and both times have been absolutely amazing the owners are contactable if there are issues and provide a lovely escape in a beautiful venue. 1010
Great booking, would 100 recommend. Thank you for having us !
Caroline
Perfect weekend in a lovely place! Owners were very kind, lovely and accommodating. The pub across the road is amazing too!! Also whod have thought Frodsham on a Sunday night would be the best night out Ive had in a long time!! Fab all round long weekend away!!
Amazing house had an amazing stay would definitely book here again.
Moved from The Shippon to The Parlour for 12 nights. Fantastic property, decorated to a high standard, spotlessly clean. Again, would highly recommend. Jo
Lovely property and well located with a nice pub for food across the road. The property was well maintained and very clean with daily hot tub cleaning as the hosts live onsite. Very friendly hosts. Thank you
Great property, had all the necessary amenities. Perfect for our family get together over Christmas!
The property was immaculate, the hosts were lovely and generous with their time and anything we needed. They took great preparation to think of needs we would have before we thought of them, within reason. Absolutely lovely people.
The property was perfect for our weekend away. Paul and Zuzana were absolutely lovely hosts. The parlour was spotless and had everything we needed, the outside area is great. We had the best weekend and will definitely be back. Thank you!
Rebecca
The perfect place to get together with friends whom we dont see often enough! The communal living area is great for socialising, cooking & playing board games! Everywhere was spotless & the hot tub was fantastic, we even made the most of the large lawned area with a game of rounders! Hopefully well return again! Thank you
Amazing accommodation. We would highly recommend. Owners thought of everything.
Michael
Amazing property that caters for all. Great location and fabulous hosts.
Spotlessly clean and well equipped cottage. Fantastic location too. Only grumble is downstairs beds are a bit on the small side.
Sophie
What an amazing property the Parlour is! The hosts Paul and Zuzana gave all the information needed for arrival. The property was immaculate, the beds really comfy, bathrooms modern and had all the amenities needed. The hosts have really thought of everything. All of the girls said how much they loved the property and we are just looking for an excuse to go back for another stay! Next time we want longer.
Gillian
Enjoyed a lovely week at the Parlour with our family including two grandchildren aged 2 and 4. Owners Paul and Zuzana were really helpful and supplied stairgate and high chair on request and dealt with queries right away. The outside space is perfect for bbq and the children loved the field with play equipment. Hot tub was very popular!! All in all the Parlour was perfect for us all.
Owners were so welcoming and polite! Welcome cupcakes, fizz and even milk in the fridge. This house has everything you would need which I have never experienced, things like kitchen foil, sewing kit, umbrellas everything to make you feel at home. Tastefully decorated and beds very comfy. Hot tub cleaned everyday. Thanks for the stay!
We had a lovely stay, thank you, the little home comforts were a lovely touch for example, milk, flowers, fizz and cake. The cottage had everything we needed and more a home from home. The cottage was central to where we wanted to go around Chester. Thank you
Catherine
We had a lovely stay. The location was perfect to see lots in the area. Very clean and comfortable.
Michelle
Beautiful cottage and everything provided that we could possibly need for our stay. The children's games and books were a great idea and the flowers and cakes a lovely touch.
Joanna
A great accommodation for our girls weekend, fabulous facilities and communication from the owner. We were left to our own devices however was more than helpful when we needed anything. Would definitely stay again
Highly recommend! Lovely place! Just returned from a 2 night say at The Parlour with 6 family and friends. The parlour is beautiful, very clean, well equipped and the host Paul and Zuzana are really lovely. The house was a perfect space for us to celebrate my cousins 30th birthday, the hot tub is great and the Bluetooth speakers were very easy to connect and worked. Unlike a lot of places I have visited before where the speakers didnt work. The view from the hot tub and open plan diningkitchen is beautiful and can be taken in whilst having a soak, enjoying a morning coffee or whilst dining at the large kitchen table. The mezzanine is a great space to spend that time to relax and unwind after a walk up Helsby hill or just to chill out, it is very cosy. The rooms are brilliant great sizes again well equipped with wardrobes or draws, only complaint here is it would be handy to have a mirror in the upstairs bedrooms. The beds are very comfy and all 7 of us slept very well. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into the space to ensure the guests stay is perfect and works for all guest staying and offers space to socialise together or some time to sit alone reading a book. Whether you are looking for a weekend break with all adults or longer with your children I would highly recommend The Parlour.
Our stay at The Parlour was nothing short of spectacular. Myself and 6 other friends stayed here for a 3 day staycation and it completely exceeded our already high expectations. The house was uniquely designed with an upstairs open plan view of the lower floor, The Parlour is absolutely stunning with a huge outside field with a spacious hot tub which was cleaned daily, an incredibly comfortable bed, stunning living space with cosy woodburner and a fully equipped kitchen, not to mention the well cleaned bedrooms and bathrooms. The weather was cold during our stay but that just made The Parlour feel like more of a safe haven, with the log fire and underfloor heating and peacefulness of the gated location. The owners Paul and Zuzana have done the most incredible job with this hot tub holiday cottage and are both absolutely lovely, with frequent communication and bottle of Prosecco upon arrival. We were also granted a later check out as some of my friends trains were not until later in the day. There's plenty to entertain nearby but also have the options of board games surround sound speakers and multiple other activities, including a pub just across the road. We had an amazing stay, and we can't wait to return already!!
Lovely home. Great facilities. Helpful hosts. Good location.
Wonderful rental property and welcoming hosts. Great communication throughout, would highly recommend.
Robert
Very friendly owners who have a house on the site. Hot tub cleaned every day. Nice little extras like providing an extra swing for our twin girls free ice creams for us all. Cottage was pretty spotless and all the kitchen equipment you would need. Would certainly consider booking again.
Eileen
Absolutely fabulous accommodation and Paul and Zuzanne were lovely and very helpful. Lovely extra touches like cava and cupcakes on arrival and ice creams on the last night added to the feeling we were welcome. Great base for exploring too. We would definitely recommend and are likely to return.
Faisal
