Crabtree Cottage Reviews

Michelle
A relaxing break in a beautiful cottage. We had everything we needed and thoroughly enjoyed the time at Crabtree Cottage.
Richard
Great cottage, very nice throughout, like home from home. Modern oven easily cook all week if needed, full size fridgefreezer, Clean modern and tidy. Great location off the beaten track in the countryside, so no traffic noises etc, slept like a log all week. Hot tub great to relax in with a beer after a day out. Scarborough and Whitby within easy access for fun days out. Lots of walking available if you have a dog and on that note beware there are sheep and horses outside the front door so keep your dog under close control and on a lead. Will definitely be booking again, great place to stay and relax.
Pauline
Lovely and spacious.
Beautiful location clean and cosy Well decorated and maintained. Hot tub was great too. And the bed was a delight to sleep in. Couldn't fault anything.
Overall the cottage was beautiful and very comfortable and great to come back to after a long day. The location was perfect for our requirements very peaceful and wonderful walks right outside the front door and then just a 10 minute car journey to Scarborough. Hot tub was wonderful although could do with being presented a little better ie canopy surroundings and courtyard could do with a spruce up. A shaver toothbrush point would be helpful in the bathroom. Think the track leading to the cottage should be mentioned as a bit of a bumpy ride, but having said that I would visit again and would highly recommend.
Rebecca
Had a lovely stay, the cottage was beautiful and could not fault. Quiet, clean and cosy. We will definitely return in the future.
Amazing, will definitely be coming back
It was so lovely the family were lovely respected your privacy but around if you needed them. Just perfect
Fantastic cottage and lovely owners. They put a lovely touch to the cottages for our 10th wedding anniversary. Amazing view and a lovely walk close by starting from the cottage. Comfortable bed and a very nice relaxing hot tub to end our days. Will definitely be back xx
Natalie
Lovely cottage and Dog friendly to a point as there is know where to let the dog out near the cottage as its a sheep and arable farm. Its is a long drive to nearest village
Lovely area. The cottage is quiet out of the way in the middle of nowhere if this something you like. Very clean and well equiped cottage. Very comfortable and lovely hot tub. Very thankful they let us stay an extra night. Only thing i would suggest is a comfier seating area outside for when its sunny. Will definitely recommend.
Absolutely stunning cottage set in some lovely surroundings. Only 4 miles from Scarborough but youd think you were in the middle of nowhere its that quiet and peaceful. The cottage is kitted out with really good quality utensils, bedding and furniture. The hot tub is spacious and really lovely to chill in at the end of the day. We had an amazing time and will defo be booking again.

Loved the facilities, open plan kitchen and living room was fantastic, jacuzzi topped it all off, Only one concern was when the the over head shower was on the drain over flowed .
Lovely cottage and owners. Very clean and everything you need. Great hot tub. We had a lovely stay. The only negative is the long bumpy drive way to get to the property.
Thank you so much for a perfect stay. Beautiful cottage, clean and very well equipped and we loved the hot tub. A beautiful peaceful setting.
We had a wonderful stay over the Easter Weekend. The cottage was clean, comfy and very spacious. The views and scenery were just beautiful, so peaceful and relaxing. Added bonus of having the use of the hot tub especially after being out walking. Location is good too, we visited Scarborough, Dalby Forest, Bridestones NT site. Thankfully the weather was bright and sunny so made the stay even more enjoyable. We had a small issue with the TV not working correctly, which Chris fixed for us quickly. All in all, a fab stay in a beautiful location. Friendly owners with 2x lovely dogs running around. Thank you for a lovely stay, we'd recommend Crabtree.Cottage and would stay again.
Great place to stay, very clean, tidy and comfortable. The hot tub was great and lovely views, best weekend away! Would definitely recommend.
Stephen
A lovely place to stay accommodation excellent only down side grass in front of cottage full of dog mess
Joanne
Beautiful cottage. Great location for visiting local area.
We had an amazing time at this well presented cottage. The pictures dont do it justice. We loved the hot tub and have enjoyed a more restful weekend There are so many places to go to from this location. Only 1 tiny dislike was we prefer bigger towels when showering but thats more personal preference. Overall 1010
A beautiful cottage with everything you need to hide away for a week, though the location perfect as lots of local places to visit if you want. We had such a good time and looked for availability to come back as soon as we got home! Thanks for a lovely week!
Lovely place , everything you need for a peaceful, perfect stay , don't have to travel far to enjoy some great walks with the dog . .. definitely recommend this property
Loved it there very clean very relaxing great hot tub only down side you have ... Loved it there very clean very relaxing great hot tub only down side you have to drive everywhere but still one of the best places have stayed in many thanks
Nichola
The property was lovely. Very quiet and had everything you need. Walks right from the door as long as you don't mind having a brown lab type dog barking at the back of your legs
Angela
The cottage itself is beautiful. Very clean and comfortable and so well equipped. Little touches such as milk waiting in the fridge and the treat of biscuits, tea and coffee on arrival were lovely. The cottage provides a wonderful hot tub, which we didn't get to try due to our own physical ability, but it is there as another wonderful extra touch. There is a long, bumpy, farm track to leading up to the property , but this is a working farm, and as long as you are aware of the access, not a problem. We enjoyed our stay and found our hosts friendly, welcoming and helpful .

This is the second time we have stayed at Crabtree and like the first time we found it lovely and relaxing. It is close to both off Scarborough's beaches and peasholm park plus within easy reach of Whitby & Robinhoods bay and in the other direction Filey and it's beaches.
Lovely converted barn in a very quiet surround. It has been done to a very good spec. Had a relaxing comfortable stay and would recommend. Little added touches of furnishings, games and books was fab. For us it was great, i would of liked an additional blanket or throw and maybe some larger towels. The only thing i would consider to advise people is the road to the cottage although well maintained is a long way on stones. You need to be able to either drive up this road or walk it to get to nearby walks.
Really lovely spot ideal for exploring both Yorkshire moors and coast
For the 2 of us plus the dog the cottage was lovely and well positioned for everywhere we wanted to go and visit. The kitchen and living room was spacious with everything you need, the bedroom was comfortable and the bathroom had the best shower. Was a real treat having the hot tub after being out all day. Couldnt fault it at all and would definitely stay ago if in the area.
Sandra
We had a lovely stay here. The cottage is lovely and very well appointed the owners of the cottage live on site as it is a working farm and they are a lovely couple very friendly and we felt really at home here. When we go back to the area again, we would definitely book this cottage. We wouldnt want to stay anywhere else. if youre looking for a lovely quiet place to stay, I can highly recommend crab cottage. I dont think anyone could fault it.
Graeme
Lovely place very friendly would definitely recommend
Kathryn
Immaculate and well laid out cottage in idyllic location. The hosts were very attentive to our needs and very friendly. We really enjoyed the comfort and peace thank you
Nothing could better, a credit to the owners.
We had a fantastic stay at Crabtree cottage. Very clean. Facilities all that you need. And the extra essentials eg milk dishwasher tablets and cakes even salt and pepper were a great extra. They let us use the field which was lovely for the dogs morning and evening stroll. Very quiet and relaxing location.
The cottage was quaint and very nice. Just as shown on the pictures but a bit too rural for me . The track down to the property is not the best and your car will be covered in dust as was mine. Be careful of the hot tub lid as the space around it is very private but the lid isnt like one Ive seen before and it almost fell onto my partners head as we sat in it. Not far away from Scarborough which was a bonus.
Olivia
Absolutely beautiful cottage and the location was perfect! The view is unreal and hot tub was great. The whole stay was absolutely brilliant it was everything it was advertised as and more. The owners left us with milk in the fridge and welcome muffins along with all the essentials tea coffee etc. Kitchen was very well equipped. I would say that If you visit with a dog who may be reactive to other dogs to be extremely careful as over the course of the 3 day stay we had 7 different dogs off the lead outside the cottage this is to be expected as is on a farm however did put us slightly on edge as our dog is reactive but we had no issues just double checked no dogs around before we let him out. All round fab stay.
Bethany
Really enjoyed our stay, would 100 be coming back. Thankyou

The Grainary Wildlife Farm - YO25 3HS
about 2 Miles
Located in Harwood Dale Village, North Yorkshire we think this attraction makes a superb family day out and couples will also enjoy the nature walks in the area.  There are 6 nature walks in total surrounding the farm so walkers and lovers of the outdoors will be in their element. Some of our favourite walks include the Spring Flowers, Pond and Village walk which takes around 35 minutes, and the Meadow and Trees walk which takes one hour.
Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary - YO12 6RP
about 3 Miles
If you are enjoying a lodge break in the Yorkshire Moors and Coast then a day trip to the Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary highly recommended. This centre is one of the regions most popular attractions and is educational as well as fun. Visitors will enjoy a journey beneath the waves, meeting many strange, beautiful and fascinating creatures of the deep. As well as mighty sharks and beautiful rays guests can get up close to some more common creatures including star fish and can also meet the otters, seals and penguins at feeding time. The site also has children's play area and picnic tables as well as a restaurant and souvenir shop. Family tickets cost £46.80 but the Tourist Information Centres in Scarborough, Whitby or Filey often offer fantastic discounts.
Sea Life Marine Sanctuary - YO12 6RP
about 3 Miles
Located in the Scalby Mills area of Scarborough this makes a fun family day out for those who are interested in marine life. The fantastic ocean tank is well worth seeing - it's been transformed into a Turtle Reef and you can see an amazing array of colourful reef fish and coral. You may also catch a glimpse of the tropical sharks and turtles. Offering good value for money this is a day out with a difference and an all weather attraction.
Peasholm Park - YO12 6QQ
about 3 Miles
This attraction is ideal for sunny days as the beautiful park is ideal for wandering out and taking in the scenery.  You can hire boats including rowing boats and canoes to enjoy the views from the water.  The pedalos with the dragon heads are always a popular choice too. Look out for special events including the Battle of Peasholm Park Naval Battle which has been described as a "must see".  You can also take a ride on the North Bay Railway which will delight children.
Betton Farm Visitor Centre - TF9 3PS
about 4 Miles
Betton Farm Visitor Centre is the ideal attraction close to the North Yorkshire coastal town of Scarborough. This animal farm has all the cute farm animals you would expect to see and will appeal to younger children especially.  A great place to both play and learn we think the Betton Farm Visitor centre is great value for money.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs.  Some of the highlights of the day might include meeting Sofie the Shetland Pony and Henry the goat, as well as the pot bellied pigs called Porky and Hammy.
Flamingo Land - YO60 7EW
about 14 Miles
Situated in Malton in North Yorkshire this has to be one of our favourite family days out.  It's a theme park and zoo all in one stretching over a massive 400 acres. With thrilling rides for the very daring like Cliff Hanger, Corkscrew and Kumali, there are also more gentle rides for the little ones such as Frog Hopper and Helitoys.  Family fun attractions include the 4D cinema, the lost river ride and the Little Monsters Den of Mischief. Check out their website for seasonal events which take place throughout the year and you can also gain more information about the zoo.  Flamingo Land is a resort as well as a theme park so you can also book accommodation there.
Castle Howard - YO60 7DA

Castle Howard is one of the regions most beautiful and historic landmarks and is located in 1,000 acres of parkland with breathtaking gardens to explore. As well as exploring the castle visitors can enjoy attractios including the unique Land Train - the best way to see the entire park. There is also a large lake offering boat trips during the summer months. In high season the site is very popular with families and offers organised activities for children including tours, talks, crafting and animal encounters. The site also has a Nature Trail which is fun for the whole family and an Adventure Playground where children can run off some energy.
