Bank End Lodge is a lovely semi- detached barn conversion that's full of charm and character, located just 6 miles from Coniston Water and a short drive from the spectacular scenery of the Southern Lakes. Offering high-quality accommodation for 10 people over 3 floors, Bank End Lodge has a hot tub and superb views to the Kirby Fells and beyond.
This is the perfect holiday destination for families or groups of friends, or for that special celebration. Enter the spacious living room and you're struck immediately by the incredible views to the fells.
There's ample seating, character beams and an electric coal effect fire. The smart TV and DVD player offer a wide range of entertainment.
Walking through into the L-shaped kitchen/diner, there's a lovely country cottage feel and a substantial dining table with seating for 10. From here the stairs split with stairs leading down to the lower ground floor where you'll find 2 double bedrooms (one with a king size bed, sofa and TV) both with character beams, plus a bathroom with separate shower cubicle, basin and WC and a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
You also have access to the garden and of course those stunning views. On the first floor there's a further master bedroom (with a king size bed, TV and DVD player), a zip link twin bedroom (converts to super king size on request) and a twin with TV and DVD player.
Finally on this level there's a family bathroom with a bath, hand basin and WC and a separate shower room, also with hand basin and WC. Outside there's an enclosed garden which is perfect for children and pets with a stunning bespoke seating area crafted from local slate.
What gives Bank End Lodge the real wow factor is the hot tub in the garden, which allows you to relax in warm water even in the coldest weather. There's also off-road parking for 4 cars.
This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals. Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos. At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed. Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.
