Grace View Cottage Reviews

Emily
We had such a lovely stay at this cottage! We’ve visited the estate before, but never stayed in this particular place. It really felt like a home away from home - cosy, stylishand spacious with a modern touch. The gardens are stunningand our dog loved every minute, especially the huge dog walking field we could use. We even saw a hare, owland some migrating geese, which was a bonus. Already booked again for April - can’t wait!

We had an absolutely lovely week at Grace View Cottage! The place had everything we could ask for, from super comfy couches to a cosy bed. Our dog Millie was in her element-she loved the huge garden and the field perfect for evening walks. The peace and quiet were just what we neededand stargazing from the hot tub was a real highlight. Location was spot on too, with loads of great walks, beachesand waterfalls nearby. Plenty of dog-friendly cafes and eateries. We’d definitely love to come back and explore more of North Yorkshire!

We really enjoyed this place! The apartment felt spacious, which is rare for a one-bed. The garden is huge and perfect for our dogs, though one managed to squeeze through the fence chasing a chicken-bit of a scare! The field nearby for walks was a bonus. Seeing Apollo every day was definitely a highlight too. Lovely stay overall!

We found the place so easy to stay in - clean, airyand really spacious. It’s perfect if you want quick access to shops and pubs, plus the views are stunning! Being able to walk around comfortably, even with a stick, was a relief. The owner’s really friendly and not at all intrusiveand Apollo is such a lovely dog. Definitely a place we’d return to!

We really enjoyed our stay here. It’s got everything you need and feels super cosy. The location is spot on and we’re already planning to come back for a longer week. Only thing to mention is our mini schnauzer managed to escape the garden, so small dogs might squeeze through the fence - just a heads up!
James

The cottage and its surroundings are truly stunning and it was incredibly peaceful. It definitely has the WOW factor! We really didn't want to leave and I’m convinced our dog wanted to stay too. Piers was so welcoming. It's easily one of the nicest holiday cottages we’ve ever stayed in.
Clara
We just had a wonderful relaxing break! Grace View is such a lovely cottage. Unlike many others aimed at couples, it’s spacious and light with loads of room for us and our dogs. The large fenced garden was great - although when we met the owners dog, we found out ours could jump higher than we realised! The kitchen is well equipped, the sofas are comfyand the bed is enormous. The hot tub was an extra treat! We’re definitely booking again for another escape from the daily grindand we’d highly recommend it.

Flamingo Land - YO60 7EW

Situated in Malton in North Yorkshire this has to be one of our favourite family days out.  It's a theme park and zoo all in one stretching over a massive 400 acres. With thrilling rides for the very daring like Cliff Hanger, Corkscrew and Kumali, there are also more gentle rides for the little ones such as Frog Hopper and Helitoys.  Family fun attractions include the 4D cinema, the lost river ride and the Little Monsters Den of Mischief. Check out their website for seasonal events which take place throughout the year and you can also gain more information about the zoo.  Flamingo Land is a resort as well as a theme park so you can also book accommodation there.
Big Sheep - EX39 5AP

This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.
Yorkshire Lavender - YO60 6PB

Yorkshire Lavender is an amazing award winning attraction offering breathtaking panoramic views of York, a Café, Plant Nursery and Lavender Gardens. The 60 acre site is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is an excellent choice for a day trip. The onsite shops sells Lavender products such as bath and body treats, skincare, medicine and herbal remedies.
Castle Howard - YO60 7DA
about 24 Miles
Castle Howard is one of the regions most beautiful and historic landmarks and is located in 1,000 acres of parkland with breathtaking gardens to explore. As well as exploring the castle visitors can enjoy attractios including the unique Land Train - the best way to see the entire park. There is also a large lake offering boat trips during the summer months. In high season the site is very popular with families and offers organised activities for children including tours, talks, crafting and animal encounters. The site also has a Nature Trail which is fun for the whole family and an Adventure Playground where children can run off some energy.
Lightwater Valley - HG4 3HT
about 25 Miles
Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
The Grainary Wildlife Farm - YO25 3HS
about 25 Miles
Located in Harwood Dale Village, North Yorkshire we think this attraction makes a superb family day out and couples will also enjoy the nature walks in the area.  There are 6 nature walks in total surrounding the farm so walkers and lovers of the outdoors will be in their element. Some of our favourite walks include the Spring Flowers, Pond and Village walk which takes around 35 minutes, and the Meadow and Trees walk which takes one hour.
Fountains Abbey - HG4 3DY
about 29 Miles
This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families.  Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit.  The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
