Had a lovley time at croft cottage the hot tub was really nice the cottage does need a little attention the bedrooms were very nice but you didn't get the wow factor with the living room it could do withe a bit of a up lift but we would come back again
Very comfortable stay. Although you are next to the road there is very little noise problem. And as there is no parking space with this cottage it is not a problem as there is plenty of safe space round the village green etc. although it was a bit of a pain unloading and loading the car. Overall a very good stay in a beautiful village.
Had a lovely stay just a couple of things to mention the oven button was loose the buttons on the extractor come flying out when you press them the door locks are a bit of a nightmare to open not good if they was a fire & the jet covers on the hot tub blow out on two of them when you turn the jets on . Oily mention them so they can get sorted would definitely stay again

Lovely stay, lovely area! Hot tub was amazing Complimentary food left was so nice! One issue we had was the small bed was broken which we didnt realise until the next day and my sister who slept on it luckily shes very petite woke with a bad back and we realised the beds collapsed! We just thought it was a very soft mattress! So that needs replacing! As my sister had to sleep in with my mum the next night! Also could do with not having the noisy boiler in the main bedroom! Which I appreciate isnt an easy fix! Apart from that we had a great stay.
Sofa very comfortable, WiFi good, back garden n furniture good, shower good Cottage comfortable for three crowded with us four, some road noise, hot tub at front of property has fence around but not totally private. Take your own pillows for comfort. Parking is 100 metres from property but could always park. Hot tub maintenance man was great.
We really enjoyed our stay, please see our pros and cons to help other guests Cons Hot tub is on the front of the cottage, in a shared garden. This is fairly private but its not ideal for dog owners due to them not being able to roam free around the shared garden. The seating area in the back garden has no padding or comforts. All bedding towels are white, again not ideal for a dog friendly property. Although we were very grateful for the welcome package we received, this is the first stay we have been on where theres been nothing catered to the dogs. Local pub is very rough, limited beer selection a handful of basic spirits. Not very welcoming to tourists which is a shame as we usually fall in love with the local pub Pros Lovely location, very close to Bedale for some sweet nick nack shopping. Gorgeous bakeries! Loads of amazing local walks to do, we were sad our stay wasnt longer. Welcome pack included eggs, bacon, bread and some crisps very grateful!! Sofa and the bed we stayed in were very comfy. Wifi is very good which is rare usually for Sykes. Although the listing says you can hear the main road, we didnt get any noise within the property which is a bonus!! Parking isnt as far away as it looks Hot tub was clean and always a great temperature Kitchen is a decent size not enough chairs for the amount of guests the property can hold though Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would return should it be more dog friendly next time. Great location for keen hikers like ourselves
It was beautiful clean and comfortable. Would happily go back and it was good value for money.
Lovely little cottage , but really need a better contact system as the number left in the cottage nobody replies to ? We left several messages re toilet blocked ... we had to drive to Bedale to get some toilet unblocker, no garden furniture cushions, no way of getting into the cleaning cupboard and unclear how to use the dishwasher as most of the writing rubbed off . They're probably are only minor issues but did spoil our stay in this lovely place .
Absolutely lovely would definitely recommend this accommodation. Only thing not quite right for us bath was very slippy when in shower unsure would suit older person Would have been easier if shower was separate from the bath.
Beautiful cottage Very clean, facilities excellent hot tub especially ,very kind ... We had an amazing time. The cottage was beautiful inside and out. Very clean, well equipped and in a lovely location. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Lovely cottage with great facilities. We loved the garden and the hot tub. Thank you for having us.
Beautiful cosy cottage, although the bedrooms were small they were clean and comfortable , the local pub is a real gem and the food is outstanding.
Suzanne
Cottage smelt a little bit of dog when we arrived but we understand that it does allow dogs. The hot tub was amazing and beds comfy. Lovely welcome pack. Found a few things missing such as bath mat and washing machine.

We stayed at Loft Cottage for 6 nights as we were in between house moves. We are local to the area so knew our way around very well. Due to a mix up with Sykes the cottage owners were not expecting us so there was a lack of preparation for our stay, not the owners fault at all and they generously apologized with flowers, chocolates and prosecco which was very kind. The cottage is comfortable and roomy for 2 though I would expect it to be cramped at full occupancy 5 and there is only 1 combined bathroomtoilet. Despite not having parking at the property this was not a problem and even unloading a weeks worth of supplies proved hassle free and there was always lots of parking available beyond the pub. We did visit the pub once, it has a very basic food menu and limited bar and geared to locals, we enjoyed several visits to nearby Bedale which has an abundance of everything. The bed and sofa were super comfortable and the cottage is furnished to a high quality. We stayed during a week of violent storms, the front wooden door had swollen with the rain and didnt close properly, the lounge is the chilliest room in the house but upstairs is very warm and cosy. We were able to let our dog out in the courtyard but always had to check that the from gates were closed s this exits direct onto a main road. The abundant grass areas opposite the cottage are great for exercising dogs and there is a play area for children.

I'm reluctant to recommend this property as I don't want it to be more difficult for us to book in to return! A gorgeous property with so much love and thought put into all aspects the decor of the cottage, the Christmas decorations, the Christmas boxes for the children they were over the moon with them! And the treats for us. Thank you so much. We have stayed in one of the neighbouring properties for Christmas previously and so glad we chose to return here, as we have loved this too. It has set the bar high for us staying in holiday cottages!
It has been such a relaxing holiday in such a lovely cottage and place. We rate it highly in the sense of cleanliness and omg! The beds are so comfy! We will definitely be returning. Thankyou.
An excellent well laid out cottage, that had everything we needed for our stay. The hot tub was Fantastic Plenty of local walks and superb villages all within a 30 minute drive, plus an extremely friendly pub within 2 minutes walk Excellent hospitality was well received on arrival also. Would highly recommend to anyone and would not hesitate to stay there again! Thanks
Michelle
Fab little cottage. Cute and well kept. Everything you need for a weekend away with friends. Would defo return. Thank you
Had a lovely time away with our two children 5 and 10. The cottage was a good size and well positioned for us to visit lots of places. We all enjoyed using the hot tub after each long day of site seeing. Good sized garden, we just wish it was fully enclosed so the children couldve played out there unsupervised close to road with a gate leading out and hedges along the road side rather than a fence. Lovely open area outside with swings and slides in a quiet, quaint village Will definitely be visiting again in the future. Thank you
Jenette
The house was finished to a very high standard and the welcome pack was much appreciated. Enjoyed the hot tub especially after long walks. Nice egg chair too. The downsides were the lack of a washing machinedryer or means of drying wet towels, swim wear or washingdrying clothes after a massive downpour we were caught in Also it would be good to have covers for the garden furniture as due to the rain showers and the birds using the seats for ongoing target practice they were either too wet or too messed up to use when the sun did come out. It would also have been good to have more fans as it was warm at night especially in the single room. All in all we had an enjoyable holiday in a lovely cottage thank you
Sophie
The kitchen was really well equipped but could maybe use a measuring jug. To note theres a bees nest above the front door and was quite noisy through the night. We had a really lovely stay at the cottage and intend to return!
Lovely little cottage in a handy spot to explore North Yorkshire. Very cosy cottage with all you need for a few days break. Outdoor space ideal for small garden games and enclosed back garden to keep dog safe.
Beautiful accommodation. Super welcome pack. Spotlessly clean. Lovely village setting and ideal location for access to lots of sightseeing areas. We will definitely return.
We really enjoyed our stay at loft cottage! It is the perfect place to escape to, with lots of cute little towns and villages nearby, as well as an abundance of countryside walks that kept us busy. The surrounding area has lots of gems to see, we visited waterfalls, castles and even had a day at the beach which is about an hours drive away. Crakehall village is lovely and peaceful. The owner of the village pub was very welcoming and told us all about Crakehall village life. The facilities at the cottage were perfect. We found everything we needed to make ourselves feel at home. The cottage was warm and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cater throughout our stay. The hot tub was fab and I also enjoyed relaxing on the egg chair in the garden.
Michele
The hot tub needs to be a bit warmer. Apart from that is a beautiful cottage. We had a lovely stay.
Andrew
Fantastic property, very well maintained and well stocked in the kitchen and a beautiful breakfast hamper left for us on arrival. Would definitely stop there again.
The cottage is lovely. Only downside was we werent very warm in the lounge. Thanks to owners for the hamper of goodies.
A lovely, cosy cottage. With a decent pub, and nice, dog friendly walks right on the door step. The hot tub was terrific, and the wide choice of TV channels a real plus.
All very happy lovely cottage, great quiet village location with plenty parking on the green nearby. Friendly local pub & couple min drive to Bedale. Thanks for the welcome hamper, nice touch! Fab private hot tub. Comfy beds bedrooms. Literally only downside was only 1 bathroom which was absolutely fine for us as a group of 5 girls for the weekend maybe something to bear in mind if staying a week though.
William
Very nice stay good facilities and would come back again, thanks
Cheryl
Perfect little break again. this is our second visit and we loved it, we will definately be back for another stay just so relaxing and the walk into Bedale wasnt too far.
Excellent cottage, lovely welcome basket on arrival. We will definitely book again.

A lovely cottage and its perfectly placed for exploring Yorkshire. Loft Cottage was clean and well furnished. Beds comfy and linen first class. Nice garden and the hot tub was great too. We went to the Bay Horse Inn and got a great welcome and good home cooked pub food. Ive left some feedback for the owner with the maintenance man.
Fantastic village with beautiful buildings and 6 great walks from the cottage with the dog. The advert states no parking at the cottage which is not a problem as you can park nearby empty or pack your car then park it 200 yards away around the green. Hot tub spot on cottage very clean and only the best used ie cups plates bedding. The weather was brilliant when we were there but due to no washer or place to dry clothes it would be a problem if it rains. Great for dog with having a back enclosed garden. Overall we will book again
Rebecca
Loved our stay in the beautiful village of Crakehall, quaint cottage with great walks on the doorstep. Clean and comfy cottage with lots of extras for a toddler. Garden has lots of steps to one side and open access to sheds etc that the maintenance use, a fence across would make a much more relaxed experience for those who do have little children with them. A washing machine and clothes airer definitely needed when youre staying for 7 nights. I didnt realise there was no parking until I had booked it but I managed to use the parking space for the other cottages to pack and unpack for 10 mins
Elegantly decorated cottage inside with an old style and charmed appearance from the outside with a pretty maintained front and back garden. Fantastic size hot tub to relax in which was regularly maintained. Facilities all inside. However, a few minor maintenance issues need to be done in the cottage of which I did mention to the owner Knob off a draw, bulb not working in a bedroom, no room for wardrobes but instead a hanging attachment to wall which was sufficient but one was broken in one of the bedrooms, water leaking from the end of hose attachment for shower unit, can opener didnt work, 2 windows not staying open as cords broken and one not shutting. However, we managed and we had a wonderful stay. The bonus was a fantastic location in Crakehall near the small village of Bedale in North Yorkshire. The Bay Horse pub is a 5 min walk away with friendly staff and locals with tasty food and large portions. Bedale is a charming village with pleasant shops to peruse around, local produce to buy or from a small Tescos. There are a few pubs with good food and large portions and restaurants to eat in or take away. Taste of India we highly recommend. For visits out there is the Swinton estatebivouac to see the stunning view from the cafe or from the woods of the reservoir near the Druids Temple. Rievaulx Abbey, Masham village and walk along the river, or a trip out to the coast 1hour and a half hours to beautiful Whitby. You can do a slightly longer trip and choose the route through the gorgeous Dales to Grassington, a pretty village with pubs and cafes where the filming was for All Creatures Great and Small. A truly relaxing trip in a stunning part of the UK.
Edward
Nice village with a brilliant pub yards away from the cottage No guest information when we arrived and there is no parkingowners permits littered everywhere! . Lovely few days away
